To be honest, I’m not liking Sam Dal’s character very much. The lead characters usually grow on me as the show progresses but not this FL. She annoys me more with her constant denial and antics. Regardless this is a enjoyable watch on the whole. One character is not going to bring my rating down.
Ep 10 - again with the drinking and blackout as a comedic device. Oh well I’m going to stop complaining about it since it’s obvious this show likes to highlight this culture aspect to move the story along. At least the mystery is solved for me…ah the grudges of the older generation drastically affecting their children. So sad and difficult 😞 It’s a valid grudge too, one that I would also carry if I were in Yong Pil’s father’s place. I wonder how the show is going to resolve this and give the happy ending I want.
Oh my god, ep 20 - I am so proud of LR...literally tearing up in happiness for him! His teachers and father have…
Did it seem that Sang Xia deliberately move the pill bottle so that Shen Yao will notice? I’m glad that she was the one who filmed him torturing the butterfly? I was afraid that some other students will have something to blackmail him and push him over the edge.
Lol! They been chasing treasure and in wood for far longer than should . I watch latest episode (31) and all we…
Exactly! I’m up to ep 32 and am tired of this show. Enough already- with all those guns, they can’t even get rid of a single bad guy. It’s like the good guys are too noble and want to make merit so they never kill anyone even though the bad guys massacred an entire village. The show is all about how Dave and Drago can do hand combat. Also, what’s the point of Drago having the Garuda magic…only to scare away the ghosts? I’ve given up on the romance since there’s no chemistry between the leads. In fact I am only interested in Drago at this point. He’s the most interesting character who seems to have some intelligence. The FL is utterly useless. At this point, I don’t care if it is a rushed ending. Just end my misery already.
This was an entertaining watch. I like a revenge story where all the antagonists get totally taken down in a satisfying way. The FL was awesome with all her flaws. Wish there was more romance and more scenes for Kang Min Hyuk to show his acting range. Overall, this is a bingeable short series that is worth watching.
Finally caught up to ep 10 and I gotta say this couple is one of my favorites! I usually hate the noble idiocy trope but with this couple, nothing else makes sense. What they did, are doing and will do for each other just tops it all. Now I join the wait with everyone else...😒
Up to ep 31 now I’m just waiting for the show to wrap up. It’s been a bit of struggle to stay interested and the show could have finished by now with fewer episodes.
Although it would be a blow to their pride since it was so highly publicized, I think it would be fine for the…
Yeah you’re right, the kids won’t care about what happens to the school but VP Lou, ex principal of Longhai and maybe Sang Xia will care because Gao and Xiao will push the agenda that the low achievers from Longhai should focus on vocational school and not even try for universities. Lei Ming if he has a conscience and pride will care about his declaration.
True, ultimately it really doesn’t matter if it is not QingBei. I’m r would still be an amazing achievement for the kids to get into a good university and in fact, in the responses to the livestreams, many other universities were welcoming them.
However, the whole premise is based on this experiment and wager that Lei Ming and VP Lou started against Principal Gao and the others supporting the elitist idea of education. Thats why Qing Bei is still the focus at this point.
That said, I think the story will evolve to the kids ultimately doing well because they made their own choices and had control over their futures. Qing Bei will be less of a goal and more of an ideal.

Thank you! Very enlightening…the article also stated that there was growing awareness about the negative effects of heavy drinking and that alcohol is the second major reason the the health decline of the population. I guess it would be nice if the show could also support that campaign and not use drinking as a plot device.

That’s the thing. I am not sure if the drinking culture is that bad in real life or it is an aspect that’s emphasized only in many kdramas. Often times it’s the FL who would drink into oblivion and have blackouts. Secondhand embarrassment seem to be a common plot device. Drinking may not be glorified in this show but it is used to introduce humor which unfortunately fell flat for me, especially when it involved the niece. The two other sisters appear to be drinking less now so hopefully Sam Dal will resort to other ways like photography to cope with her stress. Like you said, we will have to wait and see.
