I’m struggling to finish this. The leads have no chemistry and are not very smart. The story is draggy; I skipped from ep 5 to ep 10 to see if there were any plot progression and seems like I didn’t miss anything. I hate dropping shows though so I will finish this eventually.
I’m not even going to rant about Hua Shu and Lady Hong because karma’s a bitch and the upcoming episodes are going to give me ultimate satisfaction. Ep 26 was angsty good. With my two favorite OSTs playing in the background, I actually feel for GJ during his scenes of hopeless searching. Still he so deserved what Xiu Yan told him. Boy, you still got quite a bit more suffering 😢 At least GJ redeemed himself a little by destroying the first villain. I guess Hong Yi and Yan Shuang are kind of a couple now, along with their matching couple outfits ☺️ Side note: I love Yuan Qi’s look. His head accessory is sophisticated unlike the ridiculously huge headgear that gods wear in other Xianxia dramas. Same thing about Xiu Yan’s.

If you don’t like slice of life dramas, then it is not for you. For now, there isn’t much plot other than a slow burn rekindling of a romance, a love triangle and some back story of the older generation. I am enjoying it but I like such genre where one of the leads take the whole show to rediscover themselves

Yeah - the show tried to inject some humor into it. For example the dad remarking about the beer cans piling up and others thinking that the family is a bunch of alcoholics. I don’t find it funny at all.
I'm with you on this one. It seems that a lot of kdramas promote behaviour that lead to alcoholism.It's worrying…
It is sad that they are showcasing a bad aspect of their culture without even some sort of warning message. The shows could at least do some sort of PSA out of it.
One thing I really hate about kdramas is all the drinking. It’s pretty pathetic how the 3 sisters and now especially Sam Dal just drinks until she is so hung over. What a horrible example for her niece who rightfully looks disgusted each time?! The poor little girl even has to take care of them.
