I have seen too many dramas of this genre to expect a different ending. I would say the ending is very realistic, as tragic as it may be. HOWEVER, what I want for modern wuxia dramas is a more concrete ending. I want proper closure...enough already with allusion and hints or a dream-based or illusion like open ending that keeps the viewers guessing. It's a cop out and one that is very annoying!
I need time to process the deep feeling of emotional loss since I have become very attached to the Liudao Hall's brothers and our leads. That was how phenomenal the story and acting were.
My high rating is based on everything that went into making this drama such an entertaining watch. NYZ and RY - my favorite power couple whose romance was just so well done and well told. NYZ - top 3 of my most green flag ML YY (especially) & LTG - Awesome character development All the brothers from Liudao Hall with their distinctive characters - their bromance is by far the best thing in the drama for me. I have my favorites but seriously I love all of them! And I love their interactions, all of it including the comedy and heartbreak.
I need a break and am looking something light and fluffy after this. Maybe some short series web drama would be a good distraction...;D

So glad that I’m working from home coz I’m just ugly crying through the final few episodes. No matter how much I hate the ending for my favorite characters, the acting was just phenomenal!
Cannot wait to binge watch all the remaining episodes. Being a wuxia drama, and with all the foreshadowing, I am not surprised that the ending is how some people have revealed. What’s important is how it was done. I hope that viewers will rate the drama based on the entire plot execution, acting and efforts of the crew, and not just by the ending.
Sigh, it wouldn’t be a Xianxia if there were no elder immortals meddling in the leads’ destinies and relationships. At least this one, the heavenly emperor is not so love brained yet that he can still rule fairly…
Awhile back I commented that I would love to see Ruyi and NYZ actually ruling the Wu state since they were such a power couple. Doesn’t look that it will will happen but it might happen with YY and LTG, their disciples. Whether as a couple or as martial siblings, I can see them doing good for the states.
Woah, you can tell this Wuxia show is wrapping up with the increased angst. I hope we get an express package so I can binge through my tears. LYN really stepped up his game - he did well in the 😭 emotional scenes.

Agree! This will top my Wuxia list if the story finishes strong! The screenwriter was the one who wrote a Dream Of Splendor and Who Rule The World so I know she’s done well in the past. This however to me is her best so far!
Up to ep 32 and this drama is still on point! My expectations are high. Regardless of whether it’s happy or sad, I know the ending will be a good one! Still my favorite power couple and the romance is really well written and woven into the story!
