oh my gosh YES, I'm literally devasted by the very last scene being a bittersweet talk for NO REASON. They got…
There were 4 short scenes between 1-3 minutes. Each was cute sweet moments between Hanye and Ziyuan or both of them with their son Han Ning Xi. Most of them led to Hanye wanting to do the deed with Zi yuan but all implied, nothing really shown. Ziyuan did kiss Hanye’s cheek once. Then there was a set of interviews of the actors talking about their characters.
His confidence is admirable. He know what matters 😁
That’s a good point! In the current world, it is a male centric opinion and definition. During historical times, it was likely to be true especially for the concubines. The more the emperor wanted to spend the night with them, the more secure their positions.
This makes me so sad. I'm about to watch the last episode but knowing that Youku doing us dirty makes me frustrated.…
I still enjoyed the last episode because it was the outcome we all wanted but it didn’t hit the sweet spot because I now know about the scenes they could have included.
I was happy that they did show parts of the real wedding at least
I totally agree. If the ruling is max 40 episodes, they could have one final episode dedicated to Hanye and Zhiyuan. Instead they did this special episode package 😡
No, of all the things that the show decided to keep from the novel, it was the no kissing part 😩
No, there were sweet moments that were clearly meant to imply that they were going to do the deed. There was one scene when Ziyuan kissed Hanye on the cheek but that’s it. Their son Han Ningxi was adorable
Youku until the very end still did the show and the audience dirty. Depriving us of a proper satisfying happy ending by packaging extra episodes for an extra cost. I can imagine that the viewers who refuse to pay may end up rating the show badly.
Despite the bad execution, directing and rushed ending, I completed the show knowing that I can forgive its flaws because of the amazing cast and the talent they displayed throughout the show.
I loved the main characters - no one will ever beat Hanye in his eloquence and brilliance although Ziyuan ultimately outwitted him. The chemistry between Gong Jun and Reba drew me in completely. Admittedly, I was annoyed that among the few things that the show kept from the novel, it was the no kissing part. 😝 LMX remains one of my gray characters. Usually I dislike the noble idiocy trope but his actions toward the end didn’t make me roll my eyes.
The actress who played Linlang was excellent and I am keeping my eye on her future dramas.
Overall, it was a good watch for me. One of the few shows that compelled me to be up early in the morning to catch it while it was airing. I enjoyed commenting with everyone else. I wish there were no haters who unjustifiably dragged the vibe down but it didn’t matter.
It was time well spent watching the show and sharing my thoughts about it.
That's quite bold for the drama to do that, cos the issue is very sensitive. Also, usually in mystery drama the…
I thought so too. Taiwanese shows have been more daring than the Chinese ones but I wasn’t expecting them to show certain actions. It was rough to watch. I wish they didn’t involve the main characters. It was uncomfortable. My guess is her manager - the tall dude who revealed the incident to her fans
