Review Fai Sin Chua
Hey can you tell me in which ep Ben will fall in love with fah?
Hi, Ben started caring for Fah gradually but it became obvious around ep 10/11

Ugh I forgot to mention the brother in law >< I know they’re trying to portray him as a good guy who loves her…
Like the mother-ion-law’s behavior, you will have to watch further to get more insights

Why would they write Ba Wu’s mother to be such a bitch to the princess? The woman has been living as a commoner…
You’ll have to watch a few more episodes to understand her behavior and motivation.

Great review! I was very obsessed with Bossam throughout it's run but man the frustrating parts really brought…
Same here! I kept telling myself that the romance was enough and I could tell from their words, expressions and eyes how much they loved each other. But…sigh,, it was not enough :P Still, it was a good sageuk

This review is great and very well-written! I laughed when you mentioned Jung Il Woo not being your cup of tea,…
Thank you! I definitely devoted my drama watching to this show over the past months. Other dramas felt too fluffy for me :)

Great review! I love your descriptions of the love languages! I usually don’t need physical touches but in this case, their sweetness together left me wanting more. Jung Il Woo was so sexy, I would have love to see him grab and plant at least a forehead kiss on our lovely princess :-) I also share your sentiment about the music track!

Rewatched ep 18 for the scene between Ba Woo and the princess. The music, the setting, the words, the gestures and expressions - oh my heart…if only they didn’t ruin it by showing us shoes

This show deserves a higher rating. Every episode keeps me coming back for more! Although seeing shoes is not gratifying - kind of like watching birds kiss in another show

People don't know how to rate. They give a drama much higher numbered ratings than what their reviews suggest.…
I agree with you that many ratings are not the most honest and it is a problem everywhere. That’s why I like looking at Douban and IMDB for extra references. Wish they had similar platforms for Korean and Japanese dramas.

However, I was referring to the actual statistics. When I drill down to the different breakdowns of the numbers, I don’t see how the final rating are what they are for some shows.

Same thing with how MDL rates the helpfulness of a review. I have not look if MDL shares their algorithm but I’m curious since it does not seem to be based on just number of people flagging a review as helpful or unhelpful.

Thank you for the enjoyable and interesting article! I often have questions about the rating because many times they don’t seem to reflect the sentiment of the reviews and comments. Also when I look at the stats of viewers and take the average across the ratings across each age group for example, the numbers don’t line up. If you are ever interested and want to take the time, perhaps you could unravel this mystery 😄

It does maybe around ep 10ish (could be before), after they go back to China she is definitely more calm? I guess
Thank you! I’m in a slump so I really appreciate the recommendation

I should qualify my statement better. I meant that one should not give up his/her own goals completely for another. I agree with you that one should be prepared to sacrifice for the person they love, but not to the extent where they give up everything that they have been working so hard to achieve

For example, (I have watched dramas with variations of the examples below)
1) to give up being a doctor completely for someone else -> hard for me to accept especially after all those years of studying and training
2) to give up a special program that would have advanced your career because it means time away from your loved one but you are still a doctor -> acceptable to me
3) to go for that special program and ML is willing to be in a long distance relationship and is totally committed -> I would love this storyline :-) especially if the show throws in cheesy romantic scenes of the leads trying to communicate or be together
4) ML finds a way to be with FL while she is in that special program so they are both together -> Best storyline :-)

That's true - Dilireba's character is more matured and I do prefer a FL who knows what she wants and will not give up her own goals for anyone. Lately, there have been good shows with better, stronger FLs (IMHO), so I am less patient with annoying FLs :-)

she'll improve around ep 17-20..... but when we compare her with dr Mi Ka, she'll lose. Xiao Chu has a brain in…
Goodness, 17 episodes - it takes awhile for her character growth! You're right - Dr. Mi Ka is a good prototype for a modern FL. Her personality and character are what I would expect and hope for a doctor. Mi Ka was also a resident doctor who matured even more with her experiences. She also values her own goals and not the kind to give up on her dreams for someone else.

It does help. I don’t like fast forwarding but I know when things improve, then I can deal with the not so great stuff in between. Thanks!

Yeesh, 10 episodes of her like that… I like Johnny Huang but not enough I guess. At least in Love Designer, Dilireba was lovely to look at and her character was more matured.

Thank you for responding to me

Does the FL improve? I’m watching episode 1 and she is just so bratty and so full of herself. I can’t stand her at this point and it’s unbelievable to me that she is a doctor who has been deployed abroad
