It doesn’t affect the actors or the drama if MDL ratings are low. Nielsen Korea ratings matter most. No one loses if international fans don’t binge on a drama. This drama can get a 5-6 on MDL and I wouldn’t care because it is getting 20+% ratings on Nielsen.

I actually feel bad for him more knowing how perfect he is and how he could’ve lived a better life - extremely smart, capable of making a good living as a lawyer, can fight to protect himself and his loved ones, loyal, can cook and curl your hair, etc. But because he married into a chaebol family he became their butler and gets looked down on by his peers. He had no freedom at home and gets belittled by his wife/boss at work in front of staff. He couldn’t even attend his dad’s birthday because of the responsibilities his wife’s family throw at him.

Some KJW fans may feel that way but objectively, she doesn’t have as much screen time as KSH and her character is not written to shine as much as his. So far he has more opportunities to flex his acting skills like the yelling scene in Germany, him realizing her condition getting worse at end of Ep 7, him doing the dual role as Eun Seong at the end of Ep 11. Those all scenes got several hot posts on Korean forums with thousands of comments praising KSH’s acting through the roof.

I don’t think the writer wants to die, cos she’ll get death threats if she kills off one of the leads. Remember this a romantic comedy, the cast said so themselves.

I don’t know if Queen of Reversals was considered a flop, but Producers ratings were definitely not mediocre at the time. It was the first miniseries to reach 15+ % since You From Another Star (also by KSH). It wasn’t a mega hit, but considered a big success for KBS in 2015.

Agree, there are sooo many KSHxKJW shippers now. Viewer immersion wouldn’t be the same if one of them is in a known relationship. And it’s awkward for such close friends to kiss like that when we know the FL has a boyfriend IRL.
