Kim Ji Won is getting a lot of praise too, but competition is more fierce in female category. There were a lot of great female performances in the last year.

You are entitled to your opinion but majority of knet comments say they can't see anyone else playing this role. There is a lot more nuance if you understand Korean as he's perfected his tone and lines delivery. He is also amazing with emoting with his eyes, not every actor can do that.

No, Seo Yea Ji is definitely not a better fit. She doesn’t have that sweet innocent vibe for the scenes before they got married and her real life image is too negative for viewers to feel immersed in their relationship.
