People who doesn't watch joseon drama is the one giving bad reviews here. if you had lived long enough to witness tons of it you would understand why the ML is essentially introduced as an asshole and why the FL seems annoying. Though I would like to point out this is the first time I've seen a young king this weak and how they just let a princess live a double life as a commoner . If you think this is too slow for you wait for it to finished airing and binge it. I'll assure you by that time the pacing would be face enough and you can skip to the scene that you want to watch
I found a lot of misconception in regards to this drama : 1. Some people considered FL as annoying cuz she always find a way to not be dependent of ML and be a businesswoman instead , suggesting divorce since she is aware that ML does not have feeling for her 2. PXR playing a michieveous sassy woman which is different from her role at GMP is affecting how you view the entire drama when as an actor she is supposed to take versatile roles 3. ML abusing FL when it was proven that he had nothing to do with the punishing ML with canning scene and was trying to shot the arrow to the bad guy instead of FL
I think as a regular cdrama viewer here we can deduce that if the ML is cold calculating dude, the FL is gonna be sassy energetic cunning girl. If you are not into this concept, just drop the series and move on with your life
Took me 3 weeks of my hectic life to finish this drama and I finally did. I'm gonna get hate for saying this but Dylan as cold , calculating Xiao Duo really exceed my expectation after his role at that fairy drama I forgot the name. Yukee's character as FL that wanted to be free, living in such world where women are treated as objects and civilian doesn't even live with a basic human rights, apart from the very sloppy editing and so many plot holes I really enjoyed the show and you should to. Great chemistry, great script that essentially cover those loopholes , series should've ended on ep 20 or something, no need to drag it , you just wasting resources. But hey I enjoyed it to the point I wrote 2 comments here😂

I am usually not into writing review but this time I have to do this drama justice since I've seen a lot of negative feedbacks on it. I am on Ep 9 and let me tell you something the pace is indeed quite slow, but everything about this show is as simple yet clever as it is. The female lead is a woman of freedom. Which is really rare in that time for a woman to have ambition on their own. They were told to marry rich to have a good life, even their children doesn't belong to them once they gave birth. The message behind FL just wanting to a be 'a good for nothing' goes beyond of what the viewers seeing her as the sassy trickster concubine. People who doesn't understand that prolly doesn't understand the entire premise of the show. As of the ML , having FL in his life is changing his wretched soul. He always believe he is not worthy of anything that is good in this world due to his nature to revenge. I'm sure the plot will progress into something angsty ep 15 and above , and I am looking forward to cry but hopefully they both will get the happy ending that they deserves. In summary I believe 1st half of the show is funny to unravel the 2nd half which is the main plot and main goal of both main lead

me too lmaoo i had start WOH but stop mid way, i would love to watch a drama with serious tone but lately i been too stressed and busy i dont have enought serotonin to brain the plot so i'll just stick to something like romance cuz at least they have a happy ending but thank u anyway for recommendation :)
