Holy crap, I LOVED this drama. It was so much fun to watch. Bai Lu is like the queen of rom coms and I always enjoy anything she's in. She also has great comedic timing. Her brand of comedy is kind of sarcastic, like mine.
Anyways, the leads had THE BEST relationship!!! I loved their chemistry. The story with the banking tended to get boring, but they slide some comedy in between the plot to keep you into the story. Gao Han Yu's character. WOW, I've only ever seen him as the male lead and love him, but man his character in here pissed me off. So he did his job in selling me that he can play a villain.
Riley Wang's character had me cracking up. He was so smart, yet so DUMB!!!! But you know who was the biggest star? Wealth!!!! That chonky chonk Corgi!!!!! I WANT HIM! But yea, if you want a legit Chinese rom com, I recommend this one. Lots of skin-ship and great kisses and the leads act like your regular couple. C-drama tends to make couples look like they're in a fairy tale, but these two were very relatable to real life.
This drama was at best a 7. The only saving graces were Mark, Owen, Ah Na ( I especially enjoyed how they handled their story) and the farmer and the bank president. The leads were irritating with their back and forth. Plus they had the slowest progression, so I pretty much lost interest with them by episode 5 or 6. I loved female lead's mother though.
I actually enjoyed this. It went from 0 to 100 real quick, but the story flowed and it was interesting. You have Renn, coffee, the naïve but sweet female lead, the "evil" stepmother, the male lead's best friend with those sexy AF eyes, the understanding love rival, hoteling, kisses, sex, LOTS AND LOTS of sex and kisses, some comedy and a little heartwarming story thrown in. I also thought his big secret was that he was a vampire or was dead for 100 years or some BS like that (LOL), but I was way off. Anyways, it's a nice little rom com to pass the time. All the characters were so refreshing.
Ahh, this show was nuts and I enjoyed every minute of it. I've never laughed so much as I did with this. I loved the leads especially the female. She was so bubbly!!! Male lead was so funny when he broke character. (his stoic personality I mean) I also enjoyed the second couples and all the side characters. I've never loved a love rival as I did Da Cong. He was just so annoyingly sweet. I liked the little mystery they had going on with the gold, too. Everyone either wanted to kill, kidnap or marry the female lead. It was a simple and VERY funny drama. But damn, the eyes on Asher Ma. So freaking sexy.
This was pretty good to me. I don't know what the other comments were on where they were hating on the female lead. She did nothing wrong here. She wanted her own career. Male lead kept messing with her life and doing everything HE wanted. Yes he spoiled her rotten and it was lovely, but he became so overbearing trying to control every aspect of her work life. It was either his way or the highway. She just wanted to be successful on her OWN without using his name and connections. She got BUSY, so obviously she wouldn't always have time to spend with the male lead. BUT she was kind of terrible to her best friends. (I hated that part) Her only fault was that she didn't try to give him the sense of comfort and security of their relationship. But no one here is calling out the male lead for his obsessive behavior. The male lead was quite frankly, his own villain. She's trying to work to get her project off the ground, while he's worried about her working with a guy that she couldn't give two shits about. Other than that, it had plenty of skin ship and love scenes, it was a funny drama, the "villains" were annoying but their plans kept backfiring which I found hilarious. That one girl just didn't know when to quit.
I love him!!! He became a favorite of mine when I watched Black and 100 Days. Min Young is getting paired with all the hotties and I love it!!! I want to see her with Jae Wook or Seo Joon again though. She just has a really great, natural chemistry with them.
This drama went on entirely too long for no reason. I bailed at episode 29 and just watched the last two episodes, because by then I was bored. 1) That got damn ringtone. EVERYONE had the same ringtone and it got annoying fast. It didn't help that they had to give it at least a 30 sec air play before they answered, so by the end of the drama that snippet was stuck in your head. 2) Dilraba's make up. IT NEVER CAME OFF. She showered, went to sleep, woke up, got soaked in the rain, on the brink of death, but her makeup was FLAWLESS every time. It's like they couldn't be bothered to make it a little realistic. 3) The constant break ups. I got tired and stopped caring about the couples by episode 21. 4) Her mom. Couldn't stand her. 5) The constant curve balls they kept throwing at the main couple just to stretch out the damn story. 6) Her best friend WAS NOT a very good friend or person. 7) The product placement with the Sprite, Johnny kept feeding it to her and basically telling her to "drink this, you won't get fat!" FYI, it's still soda!!!!
It's honestly a fun drama, it has a lot of funny moments and some great skin-ship scenes, but it was UNNECESSARILY long and could've ended with 24 episodes
"There are no gay basketball players." Meanwhile, Jason Collins begs to differ, came out in 2013, even more came out before him and this show was set in 2019-2020. You should know better as a Coach, dude. Guys....come on.
Sigh, I can understand Dominic's stance, but he kind of disappointed me in this one especially in episode 5 and 6. I was not expecting that from the bubbly, sweetheart from the movie. I get the parental and academic pressure, but it still hurt. But Luke, he surprised me the most. I was not expecting him and his mom to be the "fighters" here. I was honestly expecting a reversal with the parents. I also wanted consequences for the "villains" here, but alas. It was a nice drama. Gio....what was that, bro???!!!!!!
Man, there's just something about Simon Gong's acting, that I can just never get into his dramas. His face just doesn't project emotions well for me for some reason.
