1 episode in, so far so good. Can't really recall what happened in the first 2 seasons but just going with the flow. Miu Kiu Wai still looks the same, hasn't aged a bit. But Raymond looks older and more weathered.
Beautifully written article, thank you for sharing :) I've watched L&R and The Eight, and heard about how good Go Ahead is and also the light hearted My Unicorn Girl. Yes, L&R for me really is the C-drama of the year!
It is so funny that most of us here wishing ML early death, hahahahaha. I, too, hope him to just leave Ming Yu…
I've watched up to 29 before giving up. At this point, I just hate everyone and want them all to die. If I continue to watch any further (up to the next generation coming into play), I might end up hating children and wishing them dead as well. For now, preservation of sanity and physical health is the priority. Someone here hopefully will text me the episode of CX's impending passing so I can witness his glorious release from this torment.
Prince Su (Jun Qing) is planning a coup in the form of armed rebellion, peasants' uprising and political revolt. To…
For the first question... The father wanted to protect his daughter (Mowan) from being implicated in any possible rebellion plot (the father isn't aware of Prince Su's plans or that Mowan and Prince Su are working together) so he deliberately sent a message that implicates himself, knowing that the message would be intercepted by the Emperor's spies. He does this to allay any suspicion on Mowan.
For the second question, this is a bit convoluted... Basically the Emperor begins to unravel at this point. Mowan begs the Emperor to release her father, and takes the blame for any wrongdoing. Prince Su wants to protect Mowan. So the Emperor tells Mowan to kill Prince Su in exchange for her father's life. The exchange between Prince Su and the Emperor then focuses on the latter's lust for power over kinship and lack of trust although the former had compromised and sacrificed so much for the good of the kingdom. Just as the agitated Emperor attempts to strike Prince Su with his sword, Consort Li enters the room to beg for her father's life. The Emperor then becomes enraged and questions Consort Li for wearing the Empress' official/ ceremonial dress. He then continues to rave about how Moxin was the only one whom he had ever loved and who was fit to be his Empress, thus rendering Consort Li an emotional wreck. The episode ends with the Emperor losing the plot and alienating himself from every one close to him.
Just watched up to ep. 11. There are many meaningful and poignant moments in this episode as well as a hauntingly beautiful Cantonese song at 22:10 that totally captured the mood of the moment: 且聽風吟 (優酷定制懸疑青春劇《我在香港遇見他》插曲) Listen to the Wind - Rao Wei https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8u-T4ZcuOk
I'm also still contemplating whether I should watch this or not. I started a portion of episode one and Cheng…
If you have a strong resolve and resilient heart (and no hypertension or other health related condition), this would be a good show to watch. Cheng Yi's acting especially in the emotional scenes is outstanding. Other members of the main cast are doing a great job (of antagonizing viewers with their villainy) as well. I'm taking a break on doctor's orders - my blood pressure keeps spiking whenever I watch this :O
Can anybody, please, explain to me, what exactly the "cherry blossom" tag means?
This is the most adorable comment on this page lol Did some digging and basically the tag refers to the cherry blossom flower. That's it, nothing else XD
Yao Mowan reveals to Ye Junqing that she's actually Yao Moxin. So that may imply that Yao Moxin has possessed…
Yup, that's totally how I rationalised it to make sense of it all. You're absolutely right about the messy writing - that scene there wasn't properly done. It is sad, from the moment Mowan's body was used as a tool for revenge. I wish the plot was written to be a bit more ethical in that respect. Now we'll have to see how all these loose ends are resolved in the ending.
Someone please explain me in detail about ep 29 and 30... I saw it raw and I'm not clear about he conversations…
Prince Su (Jun Qing) is planning a coup in the form of armed rebellion, peasants' uprising and political revolt. To prep for this, he is doing the groundwork of gathering supporters from: 1. High ranking government officials who are disillusioned by the Emperor and his growing distrust of them by putting them under increased surveillance 2. Military commanders (eg General Huan Heng and Commander Fu who were mistreated by the Emperor) with their armies 3. Recruiting and training private armies, especially from those war refugees who were neglected by the Emperor and forced to march into the savanna to perish 4. Public support against the Emperor's oppressive administrative policies of forcibly taking farming land, not releasing the granaries to feed people and not protecting them against looters
Up to 18 and still maintaining the momentum. I hope everyone gets a happy ending, not only the main couple. In particular Du Lei. The complexity of his character is really intriguing and he deserves a positive outcome as well.

OK, I think I get where you're coming from. Everything stems from that amnesia arc. Because of the episode cuts, there's not enough explanation that viewers are forced to interpret the scenes. Tbh, that particular line at the ice box about the merged memories also confused people even more. There's no right or wrong, this entire story arc is subjective anyway. Just to share my humble interpretation: After the "soul switch", Moxin became fully in control of Mowan. When she lost her memories, she didn't even know who she was and Jun Qing had to give her a new name. It was not until the amnesiac Moxin in Mowan's body was discovered by the Yao family that she came to accept her official identity of Mowan. Mowan the soul/ consciousness/ whatever had always been residing in the comatose Moxin body and was never present or involved in any of the events that transpired (from being chased to the edge of the cliff and onwards).
I'm not 100% sure, but I think there's a reason for the magic/ transference we saw in ep 1. The souls definitely…
I know what you mean. Even if Mowan was still in Mowan, I doubt the real Mowan behaves like the amnesiac Mowan anyway. Damn, that's a lot of Mowans in one sentence! :O
