Thank you for reading :) You're right, Wu Tong is a complex character and deserves more screen time to help us understand his background and circumstances more. He probably needs a spin-off series to do his story justice.
Ok referencing Zhao Yao, Shen Lige, Chu Qiao and Fuyao kind of gives me some hope. I've been stuck wondering if…
Disclaimer though - I only referenced them in terms of the chills I got for that scene. On the whole, the FL does mature and get better in the second half, once she goes into the palace.
Me too. And agree that violence is not the solution too....as long as it's not fatal, I guess :P
Sounds interesting, she has a lot of projects coming up and I'm really glad for her - it means that she's in hot demand, which is good for her career and hopefully we get to see different sides of her in diversified roles.
I love women with deep, husky voices. Just like Seo Ye Ji for K-dramas, she has an alluringly gorgeous deep voice. I agree, we need more varieties in voice dubbing or even real voices. Too much high pitched helium-injected voices really affect my hearing sometimes :/

Yup, for someone who is only 26, she's really mature beyond her age. I'm pretty sure not many, if any, in that age bracket currently are as charismatic on screen as she is. Bai Lu really should be categorised as one of the "Four Dan" actresses (post-90s and post-95s generation) but unfortunately not. I think she's equally as good, if not better, in comparison with the top 8 actresses listed.
She appears later this week in a new historical drama, Jiu Liu Overlord, so you can give that a watch!

I do agree. Bai Lu is such a unique actress, I dare say currently there's no one like her in C-drama industry at this moment, at least for her generation. I'm not sure whether it's her mature looks (not old but she has this big sister demeanour) or husky voice or her screen presence. Maybe it's all of the above.
She can be badass without coming across as mean, or she can play nice but doesn't give the impression of naivety and stupidity. And she does this effortlessly, as if it's second nature. I can't think of anyone like her at the moment.
I'm really looking forward to her next role later this week, in Jiu Liu Overlord. Love her and the characters she plays.
As mine chinese teacher explained it: It is normal to say somebody who you like/love "I like you" (我喜欢你)…
There's a bit of overthinking and complicating the concept. You are not wrong, per se. But generally speaking, when you love someone, you just say I Love You. You don't necessarily have to be with them a long time or anything like that.
There's actually no special rules or formalities on how and when to use whichever phrase, but generally when you profess or declare your feelings to someone for the first time, you use Like instead of Love, for obvious reasons. It's the same across all dialects, and not just Mandarin. And it's the same with other languages, such as English as well. You don't know the person well enough to "Love" him/ her, but you're attracted to them so you say "Like".
I'm overseas Chinese, not mainland Chinese but I've been to China, Taiwan, HK and South East Asia, and I can tell you, the usage is the same.
Not sure what's going to happen in the show but I think his greatest strength is his intelligence, and so far…
Same here, that statement beautifully captures the essence of this show. Hopefully the poison will be cleared soon, would like to see him healthier and upbeat moving forward.
Guys what do you think are the chances in the main lead gaining bk his Kung fu after getting cured from the poison…
Not sure what's going to happen in the show but I think his greatest strength is his intelligence, and so far it has done more than the actual martial arts to save them from countless situations. I'm fine with the ML not knowing any martial arts, I reckon.
The latest episodes really keep the momentum flowing and builds the excitement for tomorrow. And it goes to show how this drama is so much better without the cringe worthy secondary couple. More time and space to showcase our main couple!

In the real world that's how it is, across all cultures I would think.
That's really funny! XD
