Agreed. The time jump was not needed. I can’t believe that YS would not have to JJ about his new sssistant or…
Honestly I'm quite disappointed. I've really enjoyed the show up to 30, but today's episodes and the previews for tomorrow... I don't know, it's really late into the game to be throwing another angsty arc. I hope this doesn't adversely impact the show...

Ikr. I'm still waiting for the worthy successor to Iris 1 & 2 and Athena. Vagabond came really close though.
Hahaha!
Super lawak this comment!
Good idea though xD

Title Love Is Sweet Spoiler
Hmmm.... somehow I knew it wasn't going to be 6 episodes of fluff and sweetness...
The immediate time jump felt a bit disjointed and...weird...
Eps 33-34.... I don't know what to say. Even the viewing chart didn't indicate any hints...
Should've just ended beautifully with a wedding at 30.

Iris and Vagabond endings really sucks big time :(
Athena had a good ending, with proper closure. Give that a try :)

I guess this is related to the current geo-political climate. Previously there were plenty of spy and military shows especially about SK vs NK, but now that they're making peace, guess fighting zombies are more politically correct these days :/

Harap cerita ini menarik meskipun tentang zombie lagi...

Dang! This Huo Yang kisses with straw still in his mouth LOL! Love his character!
First time ever in the history of wuxia do we see kissing with straw in the mouth (don't think period K and J dramas had this either)

That scene alone is truly cinematic, complete with aerial videography, wide angle, zoom close-ups and 360-degree immersive shots. Epic cinematography!

This plus the human relationship with a "herbal companion", TMBFY really is a groundbreaking show XD

Yup I'm a fan after watching Wang You Shuo in Young Blood. He is really versatile, it couldn't have been easy to portray a character as restrained as he did there, but he's equally capable playing upbeat and livelier roles.

Can't wait to see his character again in Young Blood 2 hopefully next year.

This is the most cruel 'light hearted' drama I have ever watched. I have been fooled!
I agree. This drama contains more angst and makjang than I expected. I should've known though, because the author is Ding Mo. There is a recurring theme in her works and how she differentiates herself from classical wuxia writers.

You are right, she's very multi-dimensional and we're so lucky to have her in strong roles. Long may she reign!

The storyline is really refreshing, I don't think this premise has ever been covered before (maybe by HK but not as elaborate as this). Great start and Bai Lu is in her element here - I'm glad she doesn't do the "damsel in distress" roles, being street smart and clever suits her more.

You're right, how many more of such stories / tragedies do we really need, yikes! But it's Tang Yan, so I gotta…
I agree on Tang Yan. As excellent as she is, she doesn't really project the ruthless and tragic demeanour. Nini, having seen her on TRoP, would be a good choice. I'm surprised about Li Yi Tong though. But then again, I didn't watch Royal Nirvana so you probably saw something in her there. I've only seen her in Condor Heroes, Bloody Romance and Sword Dynasty but she has improved by leaps and bounds. I'd also throw in Zhang Xue Ying into the mix, I think she has what is takes too.
Anyway, it's Tang Yan so we'll still get fantastic acting :D

In a way, this drama will bring back certain memories...
Jing Chao (Princess Silver), Sheh Sze Man (Yanxi and TVB), Shawn Dou (Princess Agents, Tribes & Empires) and Liu Yi Jun (Fuyao).
Together with Tang Yan, this is a really stellar cast. I pray that it's good! If it really follows history, then it might even end positively *fingers crossed*

It is fine as long he died knowing that he was loved and already tasted the happiness with the woman he loved.
Yes, now it gets interesting looking at different actresses portray their emotions alongside the master himself, Cheng Yi.

I have a good feeling about Zhang Yu Xi, tbh. I don't hate Sarah Zhao or anything, in fact I enjoy seeing her but for TPoC, it was wildly inconsistent if anything. She did improve and came good at the pivotal moment, but not over the entire show. But I hardly blame her, because we need to consider that the timespan is over several decades, so the cast essentially had to portray characters over different stages of their lives, which isn't easy to begin with.

You make a good point. TPoC is an insightful case study with many lessons to be learned, especially when it comes to human relationships which I can truly appreciate.

Congratulations for finishing the show!

Agree totally. CX truly was a tragic tragic character.
