Wow! Similar cast, and for Cheng Yi similar character as all he's been playing - tormented and die in the end.…
Similar to the early part of TPoC, we get to see a slightly more mischievous and playful side of CY. I seem to struggle identifying any other male leads so far who can do what CY does at this point in time. He's truly unique.
This is a great read. C-dramas continue to thrive in the face of many challenges such as censorship laws but it is unfortunate that we the viewers are missing out on adaptations from literary works with so much potential.
Hopefully the laws (and the lawmakers) will evolve sooner rather than later, at least on the creativity restriction aspect of it. The social, religious and political aspects are probably more sensitive but technological and sci-fi themes could be afforded more creative license, I reckon.
This show has been full of so many epic moments that just hit you in hard. I have really loved the camaraderie…
Exactly! That scene alone was disturbing to me. It just didn't make any sense. I know they meant is as a "cold man" trope and comedy but treating women like that didn't sit right with me. If you go on in that episode and the next, it's pretty much the same mistreatment of the FL.
A lot more thrilling, but it lasted so short. The score isn't abysmal in China, but it's not top tier season 2…
Green Nails chapter did drag on a fair bit, it could've been shortened to leave room for the ending. I didn't enjoy this chapter as much as I did for the next chapter, Heterochromia. I'm looking forward to watching the Stranger chapter now. I think this is still a good drama, hopefully we get more of this genre in the near future.

Sadly, I tried to like it but just couldn't get into it. The sets, costumes, production values are quite good, even the plot had potential. But the way the characters are written just wasn't to my liking, unfortunately. But that's just me, don't let me deter you from giving it a try, maybe you'll like it more than I did :)

This is how the General's Lady should've been done - camaraderie with the soldiers at the army camp done right. Well done to this show for getting it right!

Hopefully there'll be a Director's cut or else will have to scour for BTS or interview clips with the cast. I wish C-drama screenwriters would write better closures :/
Agree. She's multi-talented in so many disciplines, particularly in dancing due to her ballet training (where…
I feel you. Don't worry, there are still 30 episodes to go and from what I've read (not the iQiyi synopsis above which has less spoilers) and the trailers that I've seen, things will get serious. As for the action, well, guess we'll just have to wait and see. If it doesn't improve by then, guess we can start ranting lol For me though, I'm just hoping for a positive outcome this time for the OTP instead of tragedy.
How is nobody talking about how their balconies are next to each other but they live apart the corridor
We discussed this so much 2 weeks ago that we ended up going through the rabbit hole. The theories proposed included architectural drawings and structural engineering plans. At the end of all that, still no conclusion lol

Once again I concur. The actors can only work with what's given to them, much depends on what the screenwriters can create. Although this drama is an adaptation of a novel (which I haven't read), the script determines the underlying tone of the show. 2 episodes in, it does feel very light hearted but, as often happens in C-drama historicals, things change very quickly so don't trust the initial fluffiness. Let's see how it progresses :) *fingers crossed*
