Producers and actors make money from Thai viewers, events, sponsorships, etc. Sure international views and fans is nice but thats not where the main money is. Thai BLs are primarily made for Thai viewers. Thats why the age issue was not a problem and casting went ahead. Because Thai fans dont care about an age gap. But there lies the problem. From what I hear Thai viewers arent watching this show. They're not interested for whatever reason. Maybe because compared to the original and Stay With Me, nothing offerred this time is that complelling. Its boring and theres a lot more other BLs they'd rather watch. So time to try and capture the international audience to get something positive put of it.
I don't care if the 2 have a kiss or two. Im not hung up on the age gap like some and think the one actor is mature enough to decide if he can handle a couple simple kisses. I don't expect passionate kisses though and dont want NC scenes. I certainly dont want fake angle kisses. If committed to no kisses than don't fake them. Otherwise have the actors really kiss but make it sweet and quick. Don't make up excuses like the director is by saying hes trying to do something innovative and revolutionary. If thats the case, why bother making a series thats already been done twice? Film an original story or at least one not adapted before.
So the series is not making either Thai or international viewers very happy. I think it will probably be on some peoples one of the worst BLs of the year list because of disappointment they fumbled the ball.

He puts the gas bill in his name. Even tries to figure out while broke how to get more money to buy Keito his favorite chicken feet.

They're professionals. Kissing is not that big of a deal. Especially the kind of kissing done in so many dramas. Doubtful the director is going to allow actors not in the scene (even if its her husband) to stay on set and gawk.
If the director wanted to experiment with giving us a Thai BL with no kisses or any NC scenes (even if mild, fade to black after a few kisses) like he said, then why adapt this specific story? A story that depends on physical chemistry and interaction between the two characters?

The main focus of a BL is supposed to be romance. Thats why its called Boys Love. Romance is supposed to drive the plot. This is more a slice of life story of friendship and disability first and foremost. Which is fine but for people expecting more romance, they are rightly disapointed. And its not ableist to dislike how much time Maya took in the past number of episodes as the interaction and relationship between Kohei and Taichi was minimized and sidelined.
Its good the Japanese hoh community is finding this series enjoyable.

It was so similar that PP had to put out a statement and Build apologized about how the graphic designers hired (hired? I thought it was his clothing designs and he's the one with a Graphic Design degree) made a mistake but he'll better supervise from then on - or some sort of reply like that. Build has messed up and apologized numerous times but he still has fans....
I liked ep 5, but ep 6 was really dull and starting for feel like we're going in circles.
I thought I was the only one who enjoyed episodes 3 and 4 more than 5 and 6. Maybe because the longing was more prominent. I'm assuming next week we'll get back on track.

I consider a BL to be a story where the romantic relationship between the main characters is the predominant theme. Otherwise its a thriller, action, comedy, horror, fantasy, etc series with some gay characters. Of course there is other criteria but thats the most important one.
Thats why there's fans bitching about not enough romance in some "BLs." Its because its not really a BL - at least in my opinion.
If viewers could remember that and evaluate on that criteria, maybe they'd be less disappointed.

Note, one character didn't even admit his feelings are romantic until like 60 + chapters in to the novel. So a slow burn story not exactly suited for a 12 episode series. Add on other changes the scriptwriters made to the characters and story from the novel and its got some Chinese viewers angry or upset.
