Yazzz Thanu and Wayu turning up the skinship, my rotten soul is at ease haha
hahaha! Stop stealing my thoughts!

My little dark soul is singing because Thanu and Wayu crotch-bumped. And OMFG! That hot, hot almost kiss. And the waist measuring that brought them close. Thanu made that measuring tape into a kinky lasso.

Probably unlike many of you, I think this series is becoming to clouded with the manipulations, deceptions, misunderstandings,…
It took me a hot minute to get used to how damn much was going on. But I really loved the characters so I tried really hard even when I was like "Okay, I'm almost lost. Not quite, but almost. This show needs like 4 less characters."

In the end what I realized was that I loved how tied together everyone is. How the fate of one person weaves into the fate of everyone else, throughout the whole story.

So I get you. I had to learn to love the complexity. But I totally did it.

Someone down in the comments suggested that Mark and Tong should end up together because they are both beautiful…
That was me. And I did it mostly because wow, painful episode. But I do think Mark and Tong could be hot and healthy for each other.

That being said, I am hoping Kit resolves whatever is happening to drive them on this wild adventure to hurtville. Because dayum. I'd like to see Mark happy. Kit too.

Oh no! I'm not mad. Not at all. I can just be very direct when answering questions. I didn't mean to sound angry. I really hope for a season 3 as well. I just need more of the boys.

No prob! Any time.

In the past I've caught the Eng Subs listing "Wayu" when the characters where talking about Thanu and clearly said "Thanu". And I've seen a lot of other hinky stuff.

I mean "Jew" as in a person of Hebrew origin, is a completely different word in Thai, so sometimes I still wonder how they picked Jew as the Eng Sub and not something like Jiu. Which is pronounced almost the exact same way as "Jill".

By the way, the linguistic pun I referred to is because Jill's character often appears with and is linked to Jack's character. So Jack and Jill are their names, like in the nursery rhyme.

More like Goldfish crackers. One of mine has a problem with crackers and cookies. He's a bit... obsessed.

There's a character named Bean Paste??!!
That's what the translation of TaoJiao is.

They have some of the names a bit wrong in the translation and handle them kind of phonetically. Like Jill. Whose name is written out as "Jew" in the eng subs because the person doing the subs is unaware of the linguistic pun in play and so they are doing their best to simply translate the "sound" into English.

But TaoJiao has a direct translation so they apparently decided to use that.

There's not a lot of consistency to it. Because Thanu's name translates directly to "Bow" but they don't call him "Bow" in the english subs. *Shrugs* But just know "BeanPaste" means TaoJiao.

This week on Lengthy As Fuck Review Brought To You By JayDeeJayCharacter of the week: Thanu. What a thirsty, thirsty…
Loved your review!

You know we talk and talk about stuff and then you always pop out with an observation that catches me off guard and I'm like "oh yeah!"

"...Friendship, pride and betrayal. Jack, Jill, and Mark were chosen for this one, but they need someone to fill the fourth slot. Who will it be...?"

Ha! Of course it will be Padbok. Not only is his story one of literally "friendship, pride and betrayal" he's the fourth Engineering student. Of course it would be him! That slipped by me when I watched the first time! Thank you for pointing that out!

Also, we can't blame Thanu for being thirsty. He met Wayu like almost a year ago and the poor boy has needs. Though honestly I don't think Wayu is any less taken. He's just less...open about it.

Team Sandee ... As you can see I have now changed my precious Boun/Prem picture to Bank/Pon (The Moment).
I'm waiting to see how the overall tone of their relationship grows. I am hoping it gets handled well. But I'm ready for it to be weird. Redeeming characters like Saendee is delicate work. But they could make a good pair if it gets handled well.

It's a good episode! You're right. I agree with the "ouch", too! My policy on being separated from your lover is only do it when you have to and not a minute before. This experimenting feels like it's doing more damage than any strength they might gain from it. When you love someone you don't have anything to prove to each other.

And Pok, dude. Noooooooooo! I was so sad for Tong. I have a morbid fear this is going to drive Tong into a bad place. Not that he was in a good one. Yikes!

And hopefully the amount of Smolder in that Thanu/Wayu scene means we'll get somewhere faster with them now. I have waited for Sooo long. I am ready!

First minute ... TONG NO!!!! You dumb a**. I know people are upset by Pok's comment but there is some truth to…
I'll disagree on Tong with you. Just a bit. See, on a moral level, some actions are right in general even if they aren't right for someone in specific. And Objectively, it was very right for Tong to turn the bullies in. Problem was, the coach didn't do anything with the information except yell at everyone. There was no weeding out of the problem students.

And Yeah, Kit was a major hypocrite this episode. I mean, I've seen it before but I like to give Kit the benefit of the doubt. But it was really impossible this episode. Not that he was wrong in what he said to Pha, but C'mon, Kit!

And Oh man! The "Casting" was hilarious. Bas as the Fairy Prince, Saendee as the Evil Fairy. Sab and Klui as the villagers. ROFL! I about died.

Title Gen Y Season 2 Spoiler
Wow. Okay this episode was kind of wild. It wore me out. I will warn you all ahead of time this is stupid long. Just like the last one. And some of it is relevant and some of it is me just going What is that awful color of lip gloss!!! And I curse so, soooo much. It's something like 2600 words of foul language. So as usual, feel free to TL;DR.

In some ways I feel like the plot-mobile drove all over the place. But with the big cast and all the complex interwoven nature of things, that's inevitable. But some of the episode made more sense than other parts.

Tong opened it up, and when he went into the Dean's office I was like "HOLY SHIT he's going to turn himself in! That is so bold!" No such dice. But I have to admit, rolling in there and reporting bullying tactics was a bold move of its own. Unfortunately it had unforeseen consequences.

A lot of those unforeseen consequences are the fault of the coach. I did sooooo much cursing. Like, Jaydeejay had to listen to me howl on Discord and I might have broken them with my language. I maintain my opinion that the swim team has the worst coach ever. How do you run a team of athletes and NOT know some of them are bullies? Furthermore, instead of railing at the whole team, just fucking cut the assholes who were bullying Pok and go back to the academic board and appeal based on your actions. But whatever. No, I get it. It's much harder to actually weed through to find the bullies and then take responsibility. Yelling is more fun and it matches your edgy, 90's grunge-angst hairstyle.

At least he wasn't wearing a mullet while continuing to utterly blow at the whole leadership thing.

As a result, though, poor Pok had a lot to swallow. But he missed the point. And I get why. It does seem like Tong's attempts to help him backfire a lot. That being said, reporting the bullying wasn't the wrong thing to do, even though it sidelined Pok's chance at competition. That was on the bullies and their stupid coach, not Tong. And truthfully, Tong's test swapping didn't do it the last time either. That was Saendee and his entirely irrational response to a situation that didn't even effect his grades. But in regards to the swim team, it was for the best and had the coach handled the situation at least a little maturely, it could have been the turning point for them. Tong did the right thing. It's just the right thing isn't always what makes the person you love happy.

I will argue though that Pok needs a "check yourself before you wreck yourself" moment. Because those bullies might be picking on just Pok today, but what happens when they're doing it down the road to someone else? They needed stopped even at the cost of the school's placement in the Nationals. Blaming Tong was like Super Saiyan Dick Move. But sure. We can always use more of Pok's breathtaking anger management issues.

Tong honey, come over here. We have fab music, I bake like a LGBT Mary Berry and no one judges you for turning in bullies. We'll find you a cute swimmer jock who *didn't* escape a dystopian island setting full of murderous preteens.

On to Wayu and Pha. Bas' performance was really so very good! His voice was tight with tears at just the right moments. The body language was spot on. It was the whole package. Bas, you little genius!!!

And Thank you, oh little cute gods of BL plotting! (Am looking around for incense to burn in offering. Might have to settle for my copy of "It's OK to Be Gay".) I have been waiting for the moment when Wayu finds it in himself to set boundaries and today he did it. I was SOOOOo shook! Even though Pha wrecked his shit when he dumped Wayu, our small saintly one didn't hold it against his former boyfriend. I was howling at the TV screen "Wayuuuuuuu! It's okay to be mad! Your feelings matter too!" By now my household understands I'm not needing assistance. I just need left alone to react. My cats get very worked up, though. So I think next week I'm going to drug them with catnip first.

There was this very Wayu sort of observation where he over-empathizes. That whole "I know you were trying to protect me. You didn't think I could survive you dying" thing was exceptionally generous. And he did all this While snipping red roses way, way too short for their vase. It was kind of boss. If it were any other character that might have been elegantly threatening even, but it's Wayu. You could hand him a clip-loaded custom Kalashnikov and he'd still not look threatening. It's like a gift. A weird, weird, cute little gift.

I will say one thing in Pha's defense, though. Wayu, honey, you're bringing him red roses daily. I know you *think* you're just filling his room with desperately needed pop color in the form of Pha's favorite flower. But stand over here in the street while the Clue Bus rounds the corner. That's okay. No, don't be afraid. You *need* to let it hit you. RED ROSES AREN'T HIS FAVORITE FLOWER! THEY'RE HIS ROMANTIC GESTURE!

*Ahem*

In other words, Wayu, you are confusing the boy. Huge mixed signals, honey.

However, "Pha, can you not? I'm not the Wayu who was in love with you" was NOT a mixed signal. And bravo! It was very clear it was hard for Wayu, but his refusal of Pha's kiss on his hand was fortified by gentle speech and a lot of feelings spilling everywhere. I was heartbroken when Pha dismissed Wayu, gently.

But, uh, Wayu. Hospitals tend to frown on you leaving messes behind. Clean that flower shit up on your way out!

And Big... Wow he really gave it to us! All those tiny shifts of expression. Brilliant! Big just bowls me over with the complexity of his Pha, an essentially good person who is actually really kind of awful. Pha is high-handed, manipulative and insensitive and just when you think he's learned his lesson--just when HE thinks he's learned his lesson, he so clearly hasn't. I wanted to smack him for the passive aggressive gas-lighting, but that's sort of his and Kit's thing. So I wasn't really shocked there.

Despite that, this scene was everything Pha and Wayu's relationship needed. And Pha was very consistent in his "I made a mistake but I still want you" schtick. Problem is, he still has never actually apologized for hurting Wayu so badly. And even though Wayu never needed the apology, it was certainly his due. So when Pha turned away from Wayu and then blocked all future visitors from his room... Major PBA! (Petty Bitch Alert) He basically punished Wayu for his honesty. Which is very, very not cool.

For someone who regrets hurting Wayu, Pha is dead set on doing it and knows exactly how. Yes, your feelings are hurt, Pha. And maybe even your pride. Maybe you were deluded enough to think you had a second chance with Wayu and finding out you didn't threw you for a loop. But none of that matters. What matters is that you might be dying. And cutting Wayu off at a time like this, just because he told you he can't be your lover ever again, is nothing short of cruel.

I'm like damn, Pha. You're dying and you still manage to get a leg over and kick Wayu in the nuts.

I'd have just told Wayu that I wanted the afternoon to myself and when he next came, I wanted different flowers from him. (Let the florist pick since Wayu apparently is shit at flower language.) I'd have enjoyed all of my friends for whatever time I had left. But newp. Pha is all or nothing.

And then there's Kit. Who is like "Pha says No visitors allowed. He obviously means everyone but me". Hahahahaha! Kit's shining moment this episode was handing over Wayu's roses to Pha while giving him judgy looks. But OMG WTF! He says to Pha "I don't understand you" in reference to Pha pushing Wayu away. The guy who is pushing Mark away was judging Pha for pushing Wayu away. (Choking on Kit's hypocrisy and lack of self-awareness...)

Welcome to the club, Kit! We don't understand you, either! Seriously! Or maybe I do understand Kit. Maybe it's time I just admit that Kit is so conflicted because he is both a Sadist and a Masochist rolled into one. I wouldn't have thought it possible but... (Points at Kit) One can't argue with evidence.

It's like Kit actually hates to be happy with Mark. He'd rather roll around in Mark's bed and get off to the smell of Mark on the pillows? But They don't really have real problems. Unlike Wayu, who is literally caught between two lovers and who only just dodged the creepy dude fucking his life up (I'll get to you later, Saendee), Kit literally has nothing wrong except what he brings to the relationship. The last time I ran into male lead this weirdly against the prospect of his own happiness I think I was in a Lit course where Wuthering Heights was required reading.

Kit is bad for Mark. And I mean really, really bad. That whole last moment where he passive aggressively guilt-manipulates Mark into going away? Even Phai was like "Bro, dick move!"

When even Phai is calling you out for being a nasty bitch, you know you've passed go and have your certified "Mean Girl" badge. I had to get out my chocolate. This was a 3 Ferrero Roche emotional crisis! He made Mark cry! After Mark was just concerned Kit had been in an accident! After Mark had resisted drinking alcohol. And for what? So Kit could continue his weird pain experiment? That is some sick, sick shit right there.

Phai is like "Nuuuuun of the adults in my life know what to do with their feelings. I don't want to grow up."

C'mere Mark. Tong is already over here and look, he's in med school too. And he's very cute. And available. His former boyfriend is an emotionally shitty wreck too. All Tong needs is a good, strong Engineer in his life who is resistant to the area of effect damage of Saendee's Karmic asshole penalty. (lucky dice) And I have cookies. Come over and spill some tea with us.

Then there's Saendee. Who having given up on his maniacal villain ways is kind of pathetic. And tone deaf. So, so tone deaf. (There's been a lot of tone deafness going around this episode) But sure. I get it. Why not stand right behind the guy you LITERALLY paid thugs to beat up and whine that no one likes you. We all understand. (We really, really don't)

Phai, you can defend him all you want but Saendee might be better served by you explaining to him that turning over a new leaf doesn't obligate his victims to play nice. Every antihero who used to be one of the bad guys has a redemption arc. And part of that arc is always, always paying a bit for the pain they've caused. You have to let Saendee be a big boy and take his lumps. It's good for him.

But Saendee... That whole "How is your relationship with Tong?" Holy BL babies, Batman! Saendee, my dark, dark little angel of chaos. I understand that having become one of the good guys, life can feel a bit confusing and pointless. Without wings to pull off flies and your fellow cohorts and seniors to torture, you're at odd ends. But explain to me HOW did you look at that situation and think that poking Pok about Tong was the perfect thing to do?!?! How did you open your mouth and "Dude, I'd like to apologize" not fall out first?

But I saw Saendee make that contemplative face. You know the one he makes right as he sees something that peaks his interest and he gets a little sly around the eyes? I call it his "meddle-boner" face. So he knows he hit a sore spot with Pok. My guess here is that unable to figure out how normal people go about their lives, Saendeezar Slytherin is going to do some background manipulations to try to fix Pok and Tong's relationship. Saendee is shipping Pok and Tong and both of them should run terrified.

Because I am beginning to think that Saendee's evil super power is unerringly knowing the most painful thing to say at the absolute worst time to say it, with the most economical use of words. (I admire his verbal economy)

And then there's the often unsung and very fabulous hero of the Gen Y universe. Sab. Who once again took the reins of romance back into his able hands and steered his cousin Wayu right into the studly arms of Thanu. Literally! Wayu wanted to know why Sab brought him to the Media Arts auditions and Sab wasn't lying when he said "Relax, you'll find out". I have begun to suspect that the thesis project for half the Media Arts faculty is getting Wayu and Thanu together.

I worry for our hero, though. Because Wayu is just going to kill Sab later. Slowly. Because Sab wasn't even a little bit subtle. He shamelessly roped Wayu into that train wreck and I can't even be mad. Wayu got cast literally as a Fairy Prince! Take that, Wayu haters! Now Bas is playing a fairy prince who is playing a fairy prince. To quote Charlie Bradbury "Oh! The Meta Madness!".

My Fucking God I love this show!

Watching Wayu give in resignedly to the machinations of his cousin was just its own reward. And like... I needed it after the Kit drama. And Sab's whole flail dance he did with the measuring tape made my little, bitter LGBT heart beat with love. Sab, baby, that was just perfect. You're a credit to the performing arts! "P'Yu, I don't know what you want me to do, I just don't know how to take measurements! P'Thanu, this is how you take measurements. And write them down on this paper. Bye bitches!" Exit stage left.

Perfect.

Sab, you lovely, lovely beast. This week you WERE my hero. You rescued the pace of the episode and fearlessly launched your cousin into a visibly delighted wall of manflesh. As a result we actually got SMOLDER between Wayu and Thanu. We got groin-bumping hip checks. We got steamy looks and lots of UST! We almost got a kiss! It was definitely Kiss-adjacent! The room damn near caught on fire!

And Bas, the profile of your plush little duck-lips renewed my hope in the possibility of world peace.

I will say, though, that they need to stop making Wayu look ill. At this point I am wondering if the poor thing is meant to look like he has a pernicious anemic disorder. When he goes to get measured Wayu is a bit too pale in the lips. And then Bam! Thanu walks in looking like he escaped a photo shoot with GQ. It was a little unfair.

Except Thanu's lip gloss. Motherf%*#%! The Makeup artists for the show need never ever put that bubblegum pink gloss on Dun's lovely lips ever again. It made Thanu look like his mouth got stung by a mutant BubbleYum Bee.

All the rest of the Media Arts cast were adorable. Yuki has turned into a GD bawss!

Honorary Mention to Jill, played by Fergie. Bitch stop being the prettiest girl in the bar! When Jack and Jill were drinking with Mark, all I could see was Jill and his manly, manly beauty. Or maybe it was his beautiful, beautiful manliness. Which ever, it was smokin.

Also Honorary Mention goes to Koh's dick. The little guy saw some damage in battle this week and we sympathize. Especially since Koh's dick is like 90% of his personality.

I do hope those fairy wings in the box Alice was carrying are not for the "Fairy Prince". Not that Wayu couldn't make it work.

All in all I had a great time. The pace was a bit choppy, but a LOT of terrain got covered and a handful of communication hang-ups got resolved.

Others *sigh* didn't. Hopefully next week we see some resolution to the madness between Kit and Mark because at this point I'm with the Twitter Post I saw last night where someone said "I'm starting to suspect Mark/Bed is the most solid relationship this season. They've been together every episode so far. I'll be rooting for them."

I can't wait until the season's finale. I've seen a LOT of cool images of the final shooting scenes. Thanu and Wayu are together at a beach-side resort! I am glad they get to be a couple by the end.
