I really love Sandee as a villain, and to be clear as much as I love what he's doing, because it's spicy and it…
You made perfect sense! Don't worry.
And I agree on all you've said about Saendee. He's not safe or fit for a relationship with anyone. One step further and he's legitimately a danger to others, let alone a lover.
I do disagree that Pha dating Phai would be uncomfortable for Wayu or Kit. But then I'm pretty laid back about Ex's dating in my friend group. That isn't for everyone though, and sort of requires a lot of mutual respect and a mature outlook on Ex's. I know Wayu is capable of that. But until he gets to deal with Pha's illness and confront him on the lies, it wouldn't be a healthy arrangement. I was thinking more of Phai and Pha after all that is over. Maybe season 3. But I don't think for a second they'll actually become a pairing. It was just an opinion on compatibility more than anything. Pha made some mistakes, but if he learns from them he's a sweet guy who could be good for Phai.
I figure they'll run some redemption arc at some point and pair Phai and Saendee. I hope I'm wrong, though. But it's what I'm bracing myself for.
And thank you for popping onto one of my posts. Your posts are always very thought provoking.
Hmmm... I don't know if Pha will get better. But Thanu's pairing was already decided in a giant fan voting event,…
I don't find Thanu and Wayu bland, forced or boring. So my perspective is a bit different on them.
But in answer to Thanu playing both sides, I don't feel like he did so. But that depends on how you view getting to know someone before you start dating them. To me, it's not playing both sides because Thanu never dated Phai. He very briefly visited a couple of the locations from the visions with Phai and discussed destiny and whether their choices played a part. But they never even went on any dates.
Thanu immediately realized he needed to make a choice between the boys specifically so he wasn't playing both sides. His big mistake was in not just saying to both Wayu and Phai "Hey I need time to think" before he ghosted for a bit.
As for destiny, I'm totally team destiny. But I think destiny meant for Thanu and Wayu to be together. It's something viewers can see from either perspective, though.
Initially I wanted Saendee and Phai to be together. However, seeing as how too far gone, in my opinion, Saendee…
Yeah, because the one short show they got together, Bank's character was still doing crazy shit. That whole fake suicide thing was way, way wrong. Bank deserves a nice role as much as the two of them deserve to be cast together in a healthy relationship.
For the Pok & Tong couple, I wonder if they're going to work past their issues because clearly there's some deep…
I agree entirely! And i too found the acting to be really beautiful during the kiss scene. And while I didn't care for the tone set in the shower scene, I think they could learn to be less toxic. I'm certainly invested in watching their romance be repaired.
The workshop videos between the actors was so good and so heartbreaking!
I am wondering if at some point we will find out the surnames of some of the characters. We find out the given names of several of them. Mark's is Waritphon, Kit's is Kamjornkit, etc...
But no surnames, except for Pha's.
I know that for many purposes in Thai culture the surnames don't come into common use. But even in 2 Moons we knew the surnames of the main characters.
Personaly I want Pha to get better and he and Wayu to get back together, leaving Thanu alone. Then for him to…
Hmmm... I don't know if Pha will get better. But Thanu's pairing was already decided in a giant fan voting event, at the end of season 1. It was to determine who Wayu was going to be with and Thanu/Wayu won. Not saying it's impossible for Phai and Thanu to be a thing. But Thanu/Wayu are listed as the feature pairing for season 2.
Don't get me wrong, I think Phai is a really sweet character and I love him. I am definitely on board for him getting a nice romance. I'm just hoping it's not Saendee, who is a big basket of issues.
As for Thanu himself, he was never an asshole to Phai that I recall. And I've watched season 1, beginning to end, at least 6 times. But I am sure there were specific moments where you felt he was, and I'd love to discuss that if you want to. It's interesting to me.
But from my point of view: Thanu was already experiencing romantic feelings for Wayu by the time he met Phai. Yes, Thanu and Phai shared the visions. Yes they both felt strong attraction for each other. But Thanu never gave Phai any promises. And perhaps more importantly, Phai never gave any promises to Thanu.
Long before Thanu and Phai had any chance to become Thanu/Phai, Thanu chose the the lovely boy he already had romantic feelings for vs the lovely boy he just met. Which is what I think almost anyone might do. Yes Phai was disappointed and even hurt. But you can't lose what you never had. Thanu didn't do anything wrong. Sometimes even our good choices still cause hurt.
I'll tell you what I told a friend of mine day before yesterday. Pha and Phai would make a cute couple and we could call them PhaPhai... Which I suspect would be pronounced a lot like Popeye. Ahahahahahahahaaha!
On the off chance that Pha actually survives the whole brain tumor thing... I want to see him and Phai together.
Saendee may think he loves Phai, but it's not love when you decide for someone who they have to be with, it's control. Saendee wants to make Phai and Thanu be together despite Phai telling him that's not what he wants. Despite Thanu telling him no. Forcing a relationship in direct countermand to the desires of both of the people involved is some next level obsession shit. So even if Phai forgives Saendee, that doesn't mean Saendee is capable of having a healthy relationship where he lets go of his obsessive need to force the people around him to dance to his tune. The two of them together are a recipe for disaster. Too many of Saendee's decisions are based on malice.
At no point does "I love someone" ever validate acting like a controlling creep. But then when he hired thugs to beat up Pok over a test switch that didn't even affect his grades, we knew Saendee was the villain.
Pha made one serious mistake. He didn't want to hurt Wayu so he hid the truth. This isn't obsessive in nature, even if it is infantilization. It's not based in malice, but it IS very bad. That being said, it's the sort of mistake you can learn not to make in future relationships. Ergo, I think Pha would make a much better romantic partner for Phai.
Wow! Interesting analysis! I'm not sure I agree with all of it, However, I definitely agree with some of it.
Thank you! I don't expect all of it to resonate with everyone. I didn't really start out intending to write it out like that. But I see a lot of criticism on the Gen Y 2 MDL discussion board to the tune of "Wayu's chastity is stupid and childish" when it's not. Society still treats Demisexuals and other asexual spectrum identities with disrespect because it's not accepted as being normal. But I don't see that there's anything wrong with Wayu taking it slow or being chaste in his exploration of their romance.
For example, just a few posts down from here someone criticizes that Wayu turned his back so Thanu could change. But in a relationship where two people are beginning to develop what might become a sexual rapport, not ogling the person you're attracted to as they change clothing is just common decency. Demisexuality affects that sense of decorum further. That they are both men means absolutely nothing.
Wayu's chasteness is just part of who he is. And that's beautiful too.
I'm enjoying the sweet, slow romance between Thanu and Wayu.
Wayu is 19. There's no need for him to rush to have sex or for things to even get steamy. He and Thanu have agreed to start over, all cards on the table and so they're getting to know each other in a way that is healthier. They have left Thanu's brief history with Phai and Wayu's love of Pha in the past, to have a clean start.
And there's nothing wrong with that exploration being very chaste. Wayu isn't just genderqueer, he also has several hallmarks of being Demisexual. So his sexual desire is linked to his depth of love. That doesn't make him a child, or boring or Victorian or any of the other insults people have used regarding his chaste behavior. It's exciting to see a Demisexual character in the central role. There needs to be more varied representation of the asexual spectrum in dramas and I don't care if anyone finds that boring.
Besides which, amid the torrent of plot twists and deceit and revenge and hatesex and psycho behaviors, Thanu and Wayu's slow burn romance is a lovely island of healthy normal.
Now, this series is actually a BL drama... LMBO! There's intrigue, deception, manipulation, lying, debaucherous…
I'm eating every episode up! It's very compelling. I'm obsessed. I've had to set studio time aside to do fanart for Wayu/Thanu just so i can keep myself distracted until next week's episode.
IKR!!! He is absolutely beautiful. As an artist I'm with Thanu. I want to draw him all the time. In fact, this week I started several pieces of fan art.
Wayu using the bow wrongly is just icing on the cake for the whole "sometimes we do everything right but can't…
His draw conformation wasn't perfect but it was way, way better than Thanu's was, by far. The sound of him hitting the target was legit.
The problem with his conformation was attributable to the fact that the recurve bow itself looked like about a 45lb pull. That bow is literally too heavy a pull for Wayu to shoot perfectly. Bas has the arm length, maybe, but he doesn't have the upper body strength.
Dun, on the other hand, had the reach and upper body strength to pull 45lbs, but his draw was so wrong it made me laugh. They needed to have taught Dun how to draw and shoot a bow properly before filming those scenes.
As it stands, Wayu should be teaching Thanu how to shoot.
Happy New Year everyone!I have a couple of questions.I have watched up Ep3 but now it has switched to VIP on iQyi.…
The book was very unfinished when Star Hunter bought the rights. Halfway through season 1 the plot began to surpass where the book left off. So don't listen to anyone who says "the book ended this way so..." because the book was incomplete.
We'll just have to wait and see if we get answers about Padbok and Thanu.
"adapted from a novel" ,i wish that were true, they literally re wrote so much of it they could call it a new…
The novel it was adapted from wasn't even close to finished when they bought the rights. So they were naturally going to have to build the rest of the story.
And I agree on all you've said about Saendee. He's not safe or fit for a relationship with anyone. One step further and he's legitimately a danger to others, let alone a lover.
