Sandee has taken justice to another unwanted level!! With Tong i understand, he was directly affected, so it was…
Even with Tong it was unwarranted. Tong switched Pok's test and Saendee ended up with a lesser test score. OKay, so turn Tong in to his academic authority. Blackmail and hiring thugs to beat someone isn't sane reciprocal action in answer to being robbed a few points on an exam. Saendee has always been way, way over the line.
But yes, Phai is adorable. I am sure he'll get a bf at some point. I am worried it will be Saendee. I hope it is someone far more sane.
You mean Padbok? See, he's listed in credits for this season and he had an IG post just a few days ago showing his character with Jack and Jill. But... They also kind of explained away his absence last episode and that makes me worry that we won't see him this season. Or at least not until the end of the season 2.
But I have heard rumors of a possible season 3. So maybe they are reserving Padbok's story for that. We can only hope. Because I miss seeing Junior on screen.
Honestly there’s a lot going on in this season and everything’s kinda just all over the place, but not necessarily…
I like that approach. There's a lot of plot weaving around and the bounce between characters this season does have a soap opera feel because the scenes are shorter and there is as much focus on the side characters as there is on main cast.
SaenSab is THE very best cousin ever in the history of cousins. That was some big balls he had there. I loved…
Okay, this is horribly TL;DR. So I won't be offended if you give it a pass.
Yeah, the arguments about Wayu often loop back over themselves and don't have a lot of logic. As a character, he's damned no matter what he does. I figured some time back that it was just genuine resentment because he's genderqueer.
I'm over it.
But I did have a rethink earlier tonight about Mark. Despite thinking initially that he was being a really good bro, I'm not so sure now. I watch the episodes and they hit me one way, then I rewatch them and nuances of behavior start soaking in and I'm like "Holy shit!".
Mark does his best to help Wayu. No argument here. He loves Wayu very fiercely.
But it's how he does it most recently that bothers me. It's like Kit's decision to hide Pha's illness from Wayu has sunk into Mark and colored the way he's approaching his best friend. And since Mark agreed to help, I suppose it has. Instead of telling Wayu that Mark was taking him to Thanu's home, or better yet asking him if he wanted to go, Mark manipulated the situation. And that's not on Wayu.
Yes, I was glad Mark provided a catalyst that helped Wayu let it go and make up with Thanu. But Wayu didn't owe Thanu an apology. He didn't need to apologize for taking time to deal with his trust problems. It bothered me that the scene with Mark suggested he did.
So yeah, not as pleased with Mark after all. I get that Mark felt the need to help, and he certainly did. But when I thought more about it, I realized he went about it the wrong way, adding to the pile of manipulations people have decided are what serve as the way to "handle" Wayu.
And in this, Sab is still my hero. He went straight to Wayu's dorm to tell him about Saendee. Other people knew it was Saendee by then but they weren't telling Wayu. Phai specifically covered for Saendee. Mark didn't come clean until Sab ran interference on Saendee's attempt to get Wayu to the hospital because he realized shit almost got REAL. What he should have done right then, instead of taking Wayu to Thanu, was take Wayu to Pha.
Because Saendee is gonna drag that deception out into the light and it's gonna be ugly. Not just because Pha hid his illness. But Mark? Wayu's best friend, the guy who grew up with Wayu and is essentially like a brother, the person who knew exactly how gutted Wayu was about being abandoned--is complicit in hiding the reason why. You're not telling me Wayu, who was so in love with Pha, doesn't carry deep insecurities about suddenly being abandoned for no apparent reason. Insecurities that have certainly impacted his ability to trust. Maybe Wayu carries fear about the possibility that something will cause his current relationship to fail in the same way. Mark is hiding the information that could help Wayu have closure. He's sitting on the answer Wayu has needed from the beginning--why did Pha leave him.
Mark is allowing other people to decide how loyal he is to his best friend, how respectful he is to Wayu. And it's cruel. He's allowing others to decide for him what is right. And that's never the kind of thing that ends well. I get that Mark initially went along in order to set Kit at ease, who is carrying unnecessary guilt (thanks Pha) and it's feeding his plentiful control issues. But that's not an excuse to withhold an important truth.
Mark doesn't owe Pha shit. But he does indeed owe Wayu not to be the same kind of manipulative force in Wayu's life that Pha continues to be. Mark opened strong in episode one. On that roof he wanted to know if Pha was hurting Wayu. Well he is, and now Mark is helping him.
I think Mark's heart is in the right place but boy is his methodology dodgy at this point. The first three episodes of this season, Sab is the one person who consistently has his head on straight when it comes to Wayu. He's got his cousin's back.
I love your assessment of the series. I agree ... Sab is an unsung hero. I hope he gets a man of his own. That…
Sab, I suspect, will end up with Klui. They danced together at the event, and since last season they've hung together a lot. So I wouldn't be surprised if Klui ends up getting with Sab.
I thought for sure it was going to be Padbok, but now Padbok seems to have been written out of the immediate plot. Maybe Padbok is still who Sab will get with, but it will be a season 3 thing?
the series bl on dailymotion has the 3rd ep with (quite a few diff) subtitles :)) (won't post the link just in…
The subtitles on IQIYI underwent a significant edit recently. So the difference might mean the episodes on the Daily motion site have the original subs--which I preferred.
honestly am i the only one that loves sandee and since the beginning of the series always thought of him as kinda…
That might work except for the fact that a) he's obviously doing all the crazy stuff for Phai because he's in love and b) Wayu/Thanu have as much 'destiny' behind their relationship as Phai/Thanu. They just didn't realize it until later. So there's nothing out of alignment for Destiny to set right.
And his need for Phai to believe in destiny could easily be explained away as another facet of his crazy.
I have to admit, of all the bad TV tropes I give a pass to, I never give a pass to the whole "flirt while you teach someone to shoot a bow" trope. Newp. I don't care for that one, cute as it can seem. Because lack of focused mindset or responsible behavior on an archery range can lead to serious injury or death. So I don't care for trivializing the importance of archery range safety via romance trope. The redeeming factor here is that Wayu never had an arrow knocked. So... no actual danger.
Now if I only look at the archery itself, I was disappointed. Thanu's archery... ahem... Style? That was a nice target recurve bow (vs a hunting recurve) and I hated to see how badly he employed it. With the 3 fingered pull I assume the show producers were going for an Olympic style? But.. No, Not even close. That's not how you shoot a bow, recurve or otherwise.
But the big thing, Thanu's place must be rural because I can't imagine it's legal in Bangkok to do archery in your back yard. Bows are weapons that can legitimately kill someone if you aren't careful. In most large cities they are only legal to be fired at an appropriately licensed range. Just like a firearm. And just like a firearm, you can of course fire them at a backyard setting but only if your location is rural.
So was that Thanu's rural archery hideaway? With a housekeeper? Pffft
Sab is and will forever remain my favorite character lol Idk I just love him so much, he's such a BAB. I'm still…
SaenSab is THE very best cousin ever in the history of cousins. That was some big balls he had there. I loved the moment when Saendee sighed and undid his seat belt, having realized he'd just been out-maneuvered. And Kudos to Tong for trying his best too. He's got guts enough, he just doesn't come equipped with SaenSab's range of skills.
I love Wayu, no secret. And I was discussing on Discord with a fellow member here, that we actually liked Wayu kind of riding hard on the issue of trusting his relationship with Thanu. He's got a right to his trust issues and I think it would feel unnatural if he'd have had no problem with Thanu hiding what went on between him and Phai. And we liked that Wayu needed a shove to overcome his misgivings. It showed his very human imperfections in that respect. Usually he's the one encouraging Mark to smooth something over. This was Mark's turn to be wiser for Wayu. It was cute. And in the end, it didn't take a lot. Wayu wanted to have a way forward, Mark nudged him with just that one piece of sideways thinking, and Wayu leapt on it. Mark wasn't really in the know on what exactly went on, but he was still able to help. Best friends are great like that.
And while I thought the plot with Pha initially had potential, I am not feeling great about the whole "Kit will fix this" thing. Because that's not how medicine works, or medical research, or undergraduate premed students... or anything. I laughed a little at the pre-med undergraduate students manning the first aid tent back in episode 6. I went "Uh, no. Not a thing unless your pre-med students are already licensed paramedics. Which, Okay, that happens every once in a while." But a sophomore undergraduate isn't bringing the heat to a situation where the big guns have already struck out. Newp. So they need to watch how far they go with this whole "Kit saves the day" thing. My willing suspension of disbelief is already not very robust when it comes to medical inaccuracies. I'm concerned they're about to jump the shark, as it were.
But then again, as wildly evil as Saendee has turned out to be, they're already verging on it. (Waiting for Saendee to snap and be legitimately dangerous.)
We'll have to agree to disagree on Wayu's merits, but I agree on everything else. He may love Wayu, but even his relationship with Wayu is built on a manipulative lie. Pha told Wayu HE was the one to catch Wayu when he fell off the bleachers. And he based his relationship on that manipulation and hasn't stopped lying to Wayu since.
He and Kit are both bad about ignoring agency and personhood.
I noticed the brain scans Kit had in episode 2. Paired with the fainting and headache Pha had in episode 1, we knew it was some brain disease that is terminal. And hereditary.
I was a little surprised that in episode 3 we find out it's a brain tumor.
Also, I am wondering if they are headed toward a pairing between Sab and Klui. They've been kind of touchy lately.
So right now I am hoping they introduce a new character that moves in and really takes care of Phai.
But yes, Phai is adorable. I am sure he'll get a bf at some point. I am worried it will be Saendee. I hope it is someone far more sane.
But I have heard rumors of a possible season 3. So maybe they are reserving Padbok's story for that. We can only hope. Because I miss seeing Junior on screen.

Heh. Satan had to start somewhere. Maybe Saendee can work up to nuclear annihilation gradually.
He and Kit are both bad about ignoring agency and personhood.
But yes, Big is entirely sexy. YUM!
I was a little surprised that in episode 3 we find out it's a brain tumor.
