overall it was good. but it got very slow after ep 12 for me. i had to skip many scenes (especially with the side couples like im sorry i just dont find them interesting lol)
i've seen 4 eps so far and i'm trying so hard to endure this because i'm curious but i don't think i can,,, the characters are all very uninteresting and the pace very slow......can someone spoil me lol . who is the culprit/what happens to the chimera cases etc? 0.0
Even though i can relate to the FL the most i think i liked Chang Hee and Gijeong more from the Yeom siblings (is it because i'm too similar with Mijeong and i feel exposed lol) so idk why people are hating on them but i really enjoyed their scenes!
did i watch this only for kento? yes i did (one of the main reasons why i can't watch jdramas is because the production quality is usually terrible, the acting is usually not that great either...but i'll make an exception for him lol)
Idk why people keep saying this reply series is perfect when Tae Woong's character exists 🤢 like if it wasnt for him it would be so much better. Was there a need for him like wtf?? For me, this is how it goes. Reply 1988, 1994, and lastly 1997. I couldnt feel the friendship feels the way i did with 88 and 94 either. The only thing that i enjoyed in this drama is probably Shiwon And Yoonjaes relationship.
I completely agree. This show just skims over and skips a bunch of key moments.
it makes me want to watch the anime again fr i remember when i was in high-school i watched the anime for the first time and i loved kazehaya so much but i'm not feeling it here as much :d
i've only watched the anime so i was excited to see it getting a live action drama, but i must say that i do prefer the anime over the drama since the anime gives you more details and depth to the characters // it was okay for a binge watch tho!
some of my complaints: sawako here looks too pretty and not scary/awkward at all so it doesn't make sense for everyone to be scared of her lol in the original anime/manga she was kinda creepy and VERY awkward . i also didn't feel very interested in kazehaya and sawako's relationship, where as in the anime i really adored them! the best thing in this drama for me was definitely chizu and ryu! (i loved them in the anime too!)
overall the drama was pretty enjoyable, but what didn't make sense to me was Sua's character and her behavior towards the end. How did she go from being obssessed and wanting to kill Hae-e to suddenly becoming besties in uni after the timeskip lmao??? if i remember correctly they didn't show us any scenes with her seeking professional help for her hallucinations or obsession? (i think only her mother calling a doctor?)
when you see the title ''summer strike'' and see countryside in the tags you would think that this drama would be mostly wholesome and healing, but it had so many tragedies and darkness like ?? i wasn't expecting it. it felt so random at times. isn't this drama supposed to be the FL's healing time-escaping from her sad life lol? idk the plot is just all over the place for me i did enjoy a few scenes and the last ep was pretty good tho
Jiyoung is really unlikeable i'm always skipping scenes with her fr (i feel like i've seen other dramas with this actress and i've disliked her character again lol...)
so here's my thoughts from someone that has seen the series and read the book too (this could count as a comparison i guess?) Taggging this as a spoiler for both series and book spoilers. feel free to read ahead if you're curious/interested in spoilers ; first of all, i feel like in the series, they focused too much on solomon and in the young generation where as in the book solomon barely had like 50 pages about him compared to other characters like?? i dont mind solomon he isnt a bad character but i feel like they dragged it too much with him and hana and it was quite boring. especially hana which is VERY unlikeable. and like...solomon wasnt even interested in her. in the book he had brought a girl from america lmao... second, i feel like they tried to make hansu likeable in the series by giving him a sad tragic story, while in the books they barely mention anything about his past (only the yakuza thing). i really despise book! hansu. he was a 37 year old lusting over a 16 year old (sunja). and he only kept stalking her throughout the years because of Noa. if Noa was a girl he wouldn't give a damn about them you know it's true. ALSO, what really grossed me out was when hansu and sunja met again when they were rly old and there was a mention of hansu jerking off to his moments with sunja in the past ugh! i hate him fr! third; i really liked isak as a character such a shame he was gone too soon TT i also enjoyed mozasu and noa in the books so i hope we will see more of them in season 2!
i enjoyed the first 5 episodes, but now that i'm on ep 6 it's starting to get too dramatic/ridiculous. not to mention that the overly dramatic music that keeps playing at random times gets on my nerves lmao. wondering whether i should keep watching or not??
(one of the main reasons why i can't watch jdramas is because the production quality is usually terrible, the acting is usually not that great either...but i'll make an exception for him lol)
