Didn't have these much butterflies for a Kdrama in a long time ❤️ I mean, yeah, it's cheesy and cliché, but in a really heart-fluttering way and in a way that I love it lol Also everyone has such great chemistry. I also got goosebumps when Yi An was dancing with the Queen. Their chemistry is also exploding.

Really happy with this drama as of now 😊🫶

Dropped; nothing annoys me more than reading the synopsis of a drama and I have an idea of what to expect but…
Honestly, I struggled a bit at the beginning too. It’s pretty confusing at first and the cases feel disconnected, but once you push through, it really comes together. Now it’s actually one of my favorite watches this year. I’d say you need at least 8-12 eps to really get into it and understand leads' motives, backstories and connections. It’s a lot to take in, but for me it was definitely worth it.

Also, it is a romance drama as well, so I’m not sure what you were expecting, but the focus shifts in the later episodes. I’d say romance makes up maybe 30-40% of this drama if even less. Also it’s less about "classic romance" and more about relationships in general imo.

If u want, u can give it another try and push through the first 8-10 eps :D I'd recommend it ❤️

...lost everything. Such a pitiful character T-T I felt so bad for him. How he was always on the verge of crying…
It doesn’t explicitly mention where he’s assigned for his new undercover mission, but he takes on the identity of his late colleague, Meng Junfeng. Idk why they chose his colleague’s name, tho it seems likely that it’s connected to the same drug network or at least tied to that case.

Just finished it and wow, it was so good! I’ll probably come back with a more detailed review later, because…
...lost everything. Such a pitiful character T-T I felt so bad for him. How he was always on the verge of crying but holding it in, knowing that he lost so, so much in the progress. The love of his life and so much more.

No one can convince me that this wasn't one of the most mature and realistic love triangles in drama history. Everyone's feelings were valid and understandable.

But I was quite sad that Jiang Cheng chose to do undercover job again... means, that he will never actually get to live a normal life again like he used to T-T But I'd totally dig a spin-off with him doing undercover again as the main male lead. That would be exciting haha :D

All of the characters grew on me so much. I know I will have a hard time letting go until the next drama hooks me ;D

Just finished it and wow, it was so good! I’ll probably come back with a more detailed review later, because there were a few things that didn’t fully work for me in the last episode. But overall, it was such a complete blast to watch!

I’m left with this really content, satisfied feeling after finishing it and I love when a drama does that ❤️

The characters were amazing across the board, from the good to the bad ones. Everything felt well written and convincingly acted. It kept me fully engaged the whole time, which honestly feels rare for me lately since I tend to lose interest in dramas somewhere in the middle nowadays >_<

And the relationships? I loved all of them. The dynamics between the leads and the people around them felt so genuine and layered. Hansheng and the professor were definitely my favorites, they were just so adorable. The last scene of them was also heart-warming.

And as much as I loved Han Sheng and Zhou Jin together, I've got such a big soft spot for Jiang Cheng. My MVP in this drama. He gave everything and...

wow… turns out I was right about my suspicions about Zhan Wei, that childhood friend. What an absolute cruel and mad person. I hope he rots in prison for lifetime...

I really enjoyed the first two episodes! ❤️ Both leads are chaotic in their own way and I’m loving their dynamic. I also really like the friendships they each have with their assistants.

I used to love "Goong" back in the day, so this kind of setting is totally my thing. Eun Hye’s outfits back then were stunning and I’m really enjoying the styling in this drama too.

I haven’t been that into K-dramas lately, so I’m hoping this one keeps me hooked until the end.

Who do you think the betrayer is, the one Zhang Ping didn’t want Zhou Jin to find out about regarding her brother’s death? It feels like it has to be someone close to them, right?

This might be a bit of a stretch, but what about their other childhood friend, Zhan Wei? I don’t know… I got some suspicious vibes from him. But maybe I’m just overthinking it haha Maybe Zhang Ping didn't even know her childhood friend...

I’m absolutely loving this drama!! For me, it’s easily the best one airing right now. I’m actually enjoying everything, the romance, the crime elements, the characters, the plot, the acting and the action scenes. Really glad I gave it a chance. I don’t quite get all the negative comments, but everyone has their own taste :D

Also Hansheng and his prof relationship is everything! I loved how in ep. 21 the prof. calls him out on his noble idiocy and knocked some sense into him. I hate that trope, so I was very happy to see him get a proper reality check by the prof. He said everything I wanted to say lol Their relationship honestly carries so much heart. I love how childish Hansheng gets around him, just like the professor said, he can be like a little puppy sometimes :D

Pls, drama gods, let nothing happen to the professor! I’m a bit nervous with all those lines about promising to visit his family and granddaughter… that kind of thing usually feels like foreshadowing. Maybe I’m just traumatized from too many C-dramas though haha

I actually like all of the main leads! Their emotions feel real and complex. Nothing is purely black and white. They’re human, they make mistakes, but you can tell their hearts are in the right place. I’m really hoping none of them get killed off in the end… and pls give Jiang Cheng a happy ending too.

Also, if you’re enjoying this drama, you should check out the K-drama "Cruel City". It’s one of my all-time favorites and it gives me a similar vibe. Definitely worth a watch if you’re looking for something in the same direction ❤️

Pretty good drama so far! It starts off quite confusing and feels like multiple separate plots or cases, but gradually everything begins to come together. The storylines start to intertwine and you slowly get a clearer sense of each character’s past and motivations. There have already been a few plot twists and I’m pretty sure there’s more to come…

Title Still Shining Spoiler
Im A Sol was the best part of the last episodes for me. Her "break up" scene with Tae Soo in his apartment was really the only scene in this whole drama that made me cry. She was so sincere and heart-warming. Her character was overall really interesting. Such a direct and honest person.

But I hated how Tae Soo went out with her after that... My gosh. That also tainted his character for me. That was such a d*ck move.

While Tae Soo deserved better than Eun A. A Sol deserved better than Tae Soo... so maybe it's good that none of them got together lol

I really don't know what this drama was or what the writer wanted to say. It was so frustrating and like watching depression in series format. Glad it's over.

This sounds lovely, can I ask how mutual and devoted the couple is? Is it equal devotion like something like Wanna…
I'd say it is equally mutual and devoted. But in a "first love" innocent kind-of-setup. So they do have silly misunderstandings/miscommunication/jealousy tropes, but resolve them pretty fast imo. And none of them is hardcore obsessed with one another.

giving this a go :) is there a lot of skinship?
I wouldn't say so. It's really subtle, but I think it fits this type of genre and coming-of-age story :) Happy watching!

I was just sharing how the first episodes felt to me. That’s not “complaining for the sake of it”, it’s just my personal impression. I don’t really get why people get so agitated over opinions they don’t share. The story just didn’t engage me yet and that’s okay. No need to be so defensive.

I'm not just referring to politics. I mean the whole war scenes, strategies etc. It's also politics for me. Maybe I didn't word it correct. But the plot in the first episodes is heavily war related. I guess, I just didn't expect that.

Hmm watched all 6 episodes today and idk... it sadly seems like not my cup of tea >_< I was so excited for this one because I was craving a Dilraba drama and I looooved Fei Yu in WDBTD! But I didn't expect this drama to be this much politics, war and palace stuff? I thought this would be idk... more fantasy and focus more on the leads? But the first episodes urged me to skip... I found it boring and the leads development not that realistic? I also don't feel much chemistry... I watched variety show scenes of Dilraba and Fei Yu and they had great chemistry, so idk why it's not clicking here for me....

But I know it's way too soon to judge! I will definitely watch further. I won't give up. I really want to like this 🥲

Had to laugh so much when Xu Xiao tried to return the favour of Xiao Cen helping him or rather find an excuse to ask her out on a date. He's usually calm and was so awkward in that scene lol

And Xiao Cen did not disappoint 😂

Xu Xiao: Isn't there anything u want or wish for?
Xiao Cen: world peace

Am I the only one who wants to stuff a sock in the FL’s mothers mouth and tie her to a chair? She never talks,…
I actually think the mom portrayed here is one of the most realistic and reasonable moms in cdrama world. Yes, she was overbearing and did wrong in the name of wellbeing for her daughter. But having a fragile and sick child made her this overprotective and strict.

Of all the Cdrama moms, I could understand her reasons the most. And I loved the airport scene. The mom did some reflecting and let her daughter make decisions by herself in the end.

What an incredibly beautiful drama ❤️ I genuinely don’t understand why it isn’t talked about more. It’s so underrated!!

This is easily one of the best dramas I’ve seen lately and exactly what I needed right now. Calm, warm and light-hearted in the most comforting way.

The couple is so sweet and I especially loved how they are introverts in the most relatable way! As an introvert myself, I often feel like dramas rarely show introverts or portray them wrong and weird.

And finally, no love triangle, no annoying side characters or side couples, reflecting parents and no frustrating cliché decisions. What more could you ask for? That’s honestly so rare these days!

And just like the FL, I also fell i love with that place Jingdezhen and its people! It actually kinda gave me "Meet Yourself" vibes.

20 eps honestly felt way too short. I could have watched so much more of them. Restoring porcelain, watching their relationship grow through college life… I didn’t expect to love this drama as much as I did!

Such a comforting and absolutely worthwhile binge. Highly recommended ❤️
