Hmm watched all 6 episodes today and idk... it sadly seems like not my cup of tea >_< I was so excited for this one because I was craving a Dilraba drama and I looooved Fei Yu in WDBTD! But I didn't expect this drama to be this much politics, war and palace stuff? I thought this would be idk... more fantasy and focus more on the leads? But the first episodes urged me to skip... I found it boring and the leads development not that realistic? I also don't feel much chemistry... I watched variety show scenes of Dilraba and Fei Yu and they had great chemistry, so idk why it's not clicking here for me....
But I know it's way too soon to judge! I will definitely watch further. I won't give up. I really want to like this š„²
Had to laugh so much when Xu Xiao tried to return the favour of Xiao Cen helping him or rather find an excuse to ask her out on a date. He's usually calm and was so awkward in that scene lol
And Xiao Cen did not disappoint š
Xu Xiao: Isn't there anything u want or wish for? Xiao Cen: world peace
Am I the only one who wants to stuff a sock in the FLās mothers mouth and tie her to a chair? She never talks,…
I actually think the mom portrayed here is one of the most realistic and reasonable moms in cdrama world. Yes, she was overbearing and did wrong in the name of wellbeing for her daughter. But having a fragile and sick child made her this overprotective and strict.
Of all the Cdrama moms, I could understand her reasons the most. And I loved the airport scene. The mom did some reflecting and let her daughter make decisions by herself in the end.
What an incredibly beautiful drama ā¤ļø I genuinely donāt understand why it isnāt talked about more. Itās so underrated!!
This is easily one of the best dramas Iāve seen lately and exactly what I needed right now. Calm, warm and light-hearted in the most comforting way.
The couple is so sweet and I especially loved how they are introverts in the most relatable way! As an introvert myself, I often feel like dramas rarely show introverts or portray them wrong and weird.
And just like the FL, I also fell i love with that place Jingdezhen and its people! It actually kinda gave me "Meet Yourself" vibes.
20 eps honestly felt way too short. I could have watched so much more of them. Restoring porcelain, watching their relationship grow through college life⦠I didnāt expect to love this drama as much as I did!
Such a comforting and absolutely worthwhile binge. Highly recommended ā¤ļø
ML deserves better... One of those drama where u wish the leads won't end up together. ML deserves someone who's dependable and not indecisive. His whole family depends on him and he needs someone he can depend on as well.
His grandma is dying and FL decided suddenly to selfishly follow her dream without discussing anything with him and just leaving again?! I mean I could understand her back then but why now? She could've been with him through the hard times and open her guest house afterwards? The guest house was empty for years, so why suddenly now?
And then the scene with the Sunbae where the ML misunderstood the situation? Why wasn't she just explaining things immediately? wtf?
And then he broke up and she's just agreeing even knowingly how hurt he is and knowing the situation with his grandma? I just can't comprehend why she's like that?
The scenes are so incoherent, random and don't make sense. I know it's a mini drama, but the screenwriting is so bad even for a mini... it's just sad. I actually liked the premise, but this is not worth watching at all.
I definitely like her more with the SML. Their dynamic is just way more fun to watch and gives me way more heart-fluttering moments. With the FL and ML, it honestly feels a bit like watching a teen romance lol They act a little too childish and shy for my taste, especially considering theyāre supposed to be in their 30s/40s.
And after watching the preview, the storyline with the ML just doesnāt seem like my kind of plot. Now his mother maybe interfering too. Meanwhile, she has more mature scenes with the SML. Seems like he's gonna have some more serious issues going on.
The ML and FL together give off more of a classic romcom vibe, while the FL and SML give me more romance vibes, if that makes sense š I actually really liked her scenes with ML in that camping, but prior to that I didn't feel much for them.
Whatās funny is that even though the SML has a more āchildishā personality, he actually seems more mature. And the ML, who appears more mature on the surface, sometimes feels kind of childish instead. Does anyone else feel the same?
Well, I know she's gonna end up with ML, so I don't get my hopes up. Just enjoying the show :D
Yes!!! I'm not the only one excited for this because of writer Park Hae Young. I absolutely love the screenwriter's scripts. "My Mister" and "My Liberation Notes" are literally masterpieces and I also liked the romcom "Another Miss Oh". She seems to be writing a script/drama every four years and I'm sooooo excited for a new one finally!! ā¤ļø
Maybe itās just me, but I donāt find Taehyungās brotherās reason for abandoning his little brother justified at all. I mean, he could have tried to contact him while their dad was in prison, right? Also once Taehyung got older, they probably could have figured something out together.
What also doesnāt make sense to me is that the brother had no fkn problem getting married and starting a family. So why was it impossible to stay in touch with his own brother? He seemed to do just fine with his new family, so why couldn't Taehyung be a part of it? Yeah, no. I'm not convinced.
Sorry, but the writing just doesnāt add up. None of the motivations really make sense and now Taehyung is repeating the exact same behavior, supposedly to āprotectā the people he loves.
Honestly, itās not just the 2ML storyline. The overall writing is just weak.
The beginning of the drama was actually so good, which makes it even more frustrating. But lately K-drama writers really seem to know how to completely butcher a script.
The king is completely unhinged and with every episode it feels more and more inevitable that he has to be overthrown. He is cruel, self centered and has absolutely no concern for his people. In a way, the Left State Councilor was right. The king only wants flatterers and constant yes sayers. He cannot stand being advised or corrected in any way. He has chosen a path with no return...
And honestly, I just feel so bad for Yi Yeol. He is basically being forced into treason just to stop this madness. He should never have to carry that kind of burden :(
Also⦠the SML. I am sorry, but it seems like he learnt absolutely nothing. He still sees women as objects and people as divided by class and birth. I really cannot stand that about him. I love the actor, yes he is gorgeous and handsome, but that is not a free pass to excuse his constant toxicity. Every time I think, okay maybe he is changing, he just goes and proves me wrong again. It is so frustrating...
Also why would he go out of his way to save his abusive father? ... he's dumb and arrogant, scared of losing his noble status.
Just watched yesterdayās episode and another good one! The fact that this drama isnāt even in the top five airing dramas just proves again how irrelevant MDL ratings can be lol
So it seems like things are heading into darker and angstier territory again. I honestly hoped the king was only a tyrant because of the drugs, but now it seems like he was already unhinged even in the past? Or was he under influence back then too?
Also as much as I hate him, I really donāt want Yi Yeol to become king. Heās such a free spirit and deserves so much more than a life trapped in a golden cage. Thatās why it felt especially sad and frustrating that Eun Jo didnāt even ask him whether he actually wanted the throne.
Yi Yeol loves Eun Jo and while I do believe Eun Jo loves him as well... she loves the people more. And I do understand that⦠but I really donāt want the ML to end up living a miserable life on the throne, burdened by treason and his brotherās death. Thatās way too heavy for someone as genuinely good as him. He deserves better.
I'm wondering who the other princes are? They were never introduced, were they?
Also the fact that they wrote such a genuinely lovable SFL is such a breath of fresh air. For that alone, this drama gets a big thumbs up from me haha
I feel sad for the FL, but I feel even sadder for the ML. Even if his brother tried to protect him, he still abandoned him in the end. He could have tried to make amends when they were older, but for whatever reason, he didnāt. That was wrong and now the ML will never get closure. Thatās honestly heartbreaking.
I completely understand his stance. He isnāt obligated to have any kind of relationship with them nor take care of the baby. The fact that he even attended the funeral and stayed as a mourner was already generous, imo.
Excited to see how theyāll end up living together to take care of Woo Joo. That little baby is sooo cute!
Iāll definitely keep watching and canāt wait for tomorrowās episode :D
This drama is sooooo good! It's been a while that I've been so glued to a historical Kdrama. It's so rare to see such a green flag ML in a historical Kdrama. I really, really love the ML here.
tbh I think the body swap is quite unnecessary cus it's very entertaining even without it and I'd actually prefer it without the fantasy arc, but well, still really good drama! I'm glad I gave it a try. It's actually getting better ep by ep and there was genuinely not a boring scene so far.
So much negativity in the comments. I actually liked the latest two episodes :D This drama and "To my beloved thief" are the currently airing Kdramas I actually look forward to the most. Maybe I'm weird, but who cares XD
But I guess I won't tune into comment section for a while. All the negativity ruining my happy vibes š
I think I've never seen Gulnezer in a drama as a lead role before, but I absolutely love her in this one! She's perfect as Shan Bao! Are there any other dramas of hers worth watching?
I really can't figure out any of the characters. Nothing and no one seems as it is. Everyone schemes. Everything is so unpredictable in this drama. The writing is really intriguing, keeping you on edge the whole time.

Totally agree. I am a passionate fan myself, but I never understood that intense obsession some people have over the artists they like. Whenever dating news came out, I was not upset because they were seeing someone. I felt sad because something so normal and human could put them in such a difficult situation, even maybe costing their career and fame.
It still annoys me that they call it a dating "scandal", as if it were on the same level as an actual crime. I just cannot understand this nonsense. Loving someone is never ever a bad thing in this world.
But I know it's way too soon to judge! I will definitely watch further. I won't give up. I really want to like this š„²

And finally, no love triangle, no annoying side characters or side couples, reflecting parents and no frustrating clichĆ© decisions. What more could you ask for? Thatās honestly so rare these days!
And just like the FL, I also fell i love with that place Jingdezhen and its people! It actually kinda gave me "Meet Yourself" vibes.
