I'm stuck at ep. 4ā¦ hmm, maybe itās not my cup of tea. It all feels like something Iāve seen a dozen times already. Pretty generic Xianxia plot, tropes and characters... But I enjoy the demon-world setting. I usually love this kind of world-built. CGI and cinematography are also pretty good.
Itās been a while since I watched this drama, but as far as I remember there arenāt any actual couples. A kiss scene doesnāt automatically mean anything. Letās just say certain characters had their reasons to kiss lol Thereās definitely something going on in a few cases, but it never turns into something real.
So if youāre hoping to see confirmed couples or real romance, you wonāt find that here. But like I saidā¦ the chemistry between Jenna and Jae Hyuk was absolutely on fire š„
As a romance fan, I'd recommend it either way. The story was pretty good and the acting was also amazing! :) And chemistry better than in romance ones :D

yeah totally... didn't contribute to anything and was a bit random? Firstly I thought she invited him to some lyric event of hers. I would've liked that more, bcs wasn't this whole story about achieving dreams and believing in oneself?
Is it just me or the script kind of... cringe and stupid at times? o.o
not just you... while I appreciate the hot kissing scenes in ep.16, almost none of the scenes had any storyline. They just jumped from one random scene to another. Definitely the weirdest editing and script writing I've seen lately. This is definitely not a drama one would watch for the script or the dialouges. This is wattpad through and through lol
My opinion after watching 8 epsā¦ donāt jump on me pls š Iām neither a fan nor a hater of any of the cast. Idk but something just feels off in this drama. The story and characters come across as very one-dimensional and give me really strong Wattpad vibes. The dialogues feel quite flat as well.
The editing, or maybe the scene transitions, are also a bit odd at times. Itās hard to explain, but overall it feels very 2010s drama-like, with over-the-top drama and action scenes that are hard to take seriously, plus some rather unrealistic character writing. Maybe my expectations were simply too high.
That saidā¦ the leads are drop-dead gorgeous and hot šš„ The cinematography is also good. So Iāll probably keep watching for the eye candy, just not for the story or depth š
After watching 20 eps now, I'd say this drama is good enough to pass time and watchable, but it has no depth at all. I don't even know how FL suddenly developed romantic feelings for him. The relationship had too much of a "Mother/Son" or "Sister/brother" dynamic, so the romance development was not really convincing for me.
Also, both leads are a bit too controlling. Both in different ways. FL acts like a mother at times and ML like the obsessive jealous type, even tho they're not even dating yet. In real life, I'd say stay away from someone that emotional and jealous. I guess in drama world it's acceptable and romantic lol
But yeah, it's okay if you want to watch something light and no heavy drama :)
Ep. 19 ... why is she holding the crutch on the side of her healthy leg instead on the side with her broken one? >_> No wonder she couldn't walk and Li Wu had to princess carry her... š
I'm confused... so Yan Tuo never found his little sister Xinxin? I don't understand the sequence with her child version "I was always there"... So actually no closure and she's forever missing? So sad :'(
Jae Oh sacrificed himself for fckn nothing... Last ep was so bad. I think writers were also on crack. Well this was an overall amazing show, but the ending was shit. You can't convince me otherwise.

Same... I know they're evil as well, but humans, especially the ones here, are also hypocrites to begin with. Always thinking they're the superior race. So I had to laugh at Yan Tuo's speech that humans earned their right to have a peaceful life. And are not feeding on human blood and flesh. But humans are feeding on blood and flesh... even if it's not humans.
Also Zhang Li's acting was so good, that I just felt really bad for her in that scene...
I can't really hate the earth fiends... idk but I really think they did care about Yan Tuo. Why would they've have kept him by their side all this time? Protected him and also saved him, when he was hold captive by the Hunters? Xiong Hei looked genuinely hurt by Yan Tuo's betrayal...
tbh I like the earth fiends more than that bunch of useless Nanshan Hunters lol Funny enough the non-humans have more personality than the humans haha
Not sure yet if Iāll continueā¦ I do like the cast though, so maybe Iāll just let it marinate a bit and give it another try later. Sometimes youāre just in the mood for clichĆ©s and sometimes you arenāt :D

Well, but it's not shown in the drama, so the development is non-existent. I can only form an opinion of what I can see in the drama.
