Although I like the actor, this is the type of drama I don't enjoy.
And don't get me wrong, the drama is probably good, but it's not a genre that appeals to me.
I only just realized that this is the actress who was in "A Girl Like Me," which was the last drama I saw her in.

XQL doesn't add anything, because there's no development, besides, as far as I know, she was originally supposed to be a villain in the novel.

I don't think they needed to be a couple, but what purpose does she serve in the end? XQL only seemed interesting at the beginning, but then her character was reduced to chasing after a man who didn't even like her.

Unlike the drama, in the novel YX marries Luo Yuan. I can't even say they're a loving couple; their relationship isn't the same as GJZ and CYY's in the drama. XY is with LY, but makes internal comments about GJZ, things GJZ would do and how different they are, that GJZ wouldn't let herself be intimidated, something LY could handle.

I don't have a problem with sad endings, goodbye my princess is excellent and FL killed herself, I understand. But I don't see anything in YX that makes his ending make sense.
His ending was premeditated when they gave him those conditions.

Our opinions differ too much, but that's okay, it's normal for people to see things differently, it's good that it made sense to you.

Of all the main characters, the most wronged was YX. What kind of sad ending is that for a character that nobody likes? I wasn't even sad, oh, he died? What a shame~

I think it's a waste of YX character, and I can't even be sad because I don't care. They killed a character that part of the audience doesn't even care about.

I don't like the ending for Ye Xian; I think it's a waste of a character just to kill him off.
Maybe that's why they strengthened the bond between GJZ and him, so it would be sad.
It's a shame it doesn't work for me because I don't care about YX.

"Luo Yuan was the eldest legitimate daughter of the Marquis of Wuding." They have a son~ the epilogue is an 8-year time skip after the end of the novel.

So, in the novel Ye Xian is alive, but in the drama, a lot has changed.

As for Xue Qing lan, from the spoilers I've heard, she's a villain, but in the drama her character was altered. I also hope they end up together and that YX doesn't die.
Since they changed Xue Qing lan, they should give her a happy ending, with Ye Xian together.

I don't know, but I know that in the end, YX is still alive, married... he has a wife.
