i'm just lost with this drama. i can connect to many characters but not XY and FFB/WHATEVER his prev name was. XY has such a hard past but somehow it never shows up on her face/expressions or maybe i just cannot grasp this high level acting. she seems pretty lost w the character. due to burnouts and drama slumps, I've only now begin to cont. this drama and i connect to TJ and CX but not XY. i'm trying so hard but i just can't feel her. the only time i like her acting was when she broke down seeing her mother's dupe in the palace. even when she's hanging out w FFB, she has pup eyes and i can never feel any emotional consistently/character from her. and her romance w TJ feels half-baked, I JUST CANNOT FEEL HER.

i do like XL now, but his past abusive behaviours can't be forgotten.the point isn't if they knew that she was a girl or not, violence is violence. CX has always been nice to everyone, he was very genuine and forgiving towards XY as XL no matter how much trouble she got him in. the only time he abused her and jing was when he had to follow orders which they disobeyed. yup, I'm biased. 😔💅🏻but Xiang kiu... eh, i don't hate him and i do empathise w his character. he could've been such a beautiful element to the story if his character didn't have that unnecessary violent arc written for him. again, i do like him in the later episodes more and he has pretty good chemistry with xiaoyao.idk i'm kinda waiting for cang xuan's angsty one sided yearning arc, sooooo 👀
