She’s a child. Her uncle wasn’t really preparing her to be a killer, but to protect herself. That’s why…
Oh no, i do get it. I get it why she was so afraid and confused. STILL doesn't make sense why she made many stupid decisions while her life was at stake, like standing in the middle of the room while bullets are being fired at her, putting her finger on the mouse but not opening that video proof(which she was dying to know about) and instead going to help her friend who brother KEPT warning her about, going outside and crying there when she knows she's on a hitlist etc. She had zero character development.
I find the poster kinda misleading because in the opening episodes, jian was quite badass and knew how to defend herself, when she was about to get SAed and when that was happening to her friend too, even tho she was scared. Young jian jian got my hopes up but older jian lacked basic common sense and survival instincts. The uncle or basically ANY other side character could replace jian's center position in the poster and it would look accurate.
Dark. The premise of countless trained killers, who are middle aged men, hunting a 7/21 year old orphan girl down to kill her is disturbing. A very messed up villain, who decides to kill the entire family of his challenger down because his ego got hurt. Killing half the family in one day, relentlessly chasing them everywhere. Words aren't enough.
So many flaws, but still pulled my heartstrings. Solid 8/10. Though I'd say the poster is kinda misleading because jian isn't all that she appears in it. Why don't you listen up, jian?
One thing that really annoys me in kdramas with young actors/high school characters is the acting. Now I'm not sure if it's just me who likes realistic acting but, why are they so dramatic? In the beginning, BS's character was fine. He's cute af. But along with huisoo, even he seems too melodramatic. Something about those glimmering, full of emotion eyes, little lip twitches and over the top micro expressions makes scenes with these teens a suffering to watch. The scenes with their parents are way better, they're both v interesting and badass. It's always these teen characters who are overdramatic, and their dialogues are so cliche to hear. Super slow and draggy, 80% teen melodrama, 14% political BS with the cringe ass villain, 4% action/thriller and 1% screentime for the cool parents.
As always, didn't feel anything when it ended. But thoughts, feelings and reflections start creeping up slowly, over the following weeks or months. I guess i can kind of feel it now. Being constantly put in tight spots, highly stressful situations, having to hide your true self just to survive, to lie and pretend and shove it all inside to protect yourself and/or your loved ones, feeling your body go absolutely sick in shock the moment you hear or see something that will put you in grave danger and then trying to work through it with that sickness and panic in your legs. My dude pulled out a cigarette whenever in stress or panic, you pull out your earphones and listen to the same rotten tracks you've listened to for years, like an addiction, you block everything out and keep humming and singing so that you're never alone with your thoughts, to never have to face the rotten reality life is. Or do something passive, mind numbing. Slowly watching yourself becoming the demons you are trying to fight off but being unable to stop them from taking over you, losing sense of who you were and could've been if you never had to deal with suffering you never asked for, and trying to fix its aftermath, that too on your own. Or maybe you never knew who you were inside, what you wanted from life and what you felt. The mind numbing stress, panic and insanity.
I guess it's begun to creep up to me, though it's really very faint and vague feelings. Maybe i did feel myself in this drama and the main character. Whatever the picture comes up to be, I'll dump it here again.
Good one. I wish i could've seen haeryoung living a normal life, studying, working and being successful, and i wish the ending could've been a little longer and gave proper closure.
Trying hard to ignore all the cliches 🤡 also, the SA joke undertones aren't cool but oof, we're used to casual misogyny at this point. They're cute but GIRL PLEASE BE SERIOUS FOR 5 SECONDS, PLEASE USE YOUR HEAD A LITTLE BIT, YOU'RE NOT FIVE
I remember watching the trailer long ago and afair it had intense thriller vibes. The tags have no mystery or thriller either, is this a basic rom com?
