[ EP 9 ] just wanna say, my bro, chill, it's not that deep. it's NOT THAT DEEP! stop being an emotional furball, doing pointless destructive shit! Aaaagsh
Great cinematography, the old horror movie style music kept me on the edge. Personally, some conceptual elements really hit the spot for me, especially the mystery behind that 7 ft creature, though it did turn into something plain, concrete and anticlimatic towards the end. The narrow, tall coffin, seemingly for something "not human," the flashbacks, very angsty. The plotline was solid, but nothing spectacular. Loved seeing Kim Go Eun act as usual. Nice one.
1st rewatch after watching it like 4 years ago. this was one of my very first dramas so I'm v attached to it but not just because i hadn't seen much. even now, i can see the various strengths that make still 17 a gem.
the script and pacing is quite shitty. the story runs on basically misunderstandings, near misses, characters constantly playing dumb and not communicating properly, like it takes place in a dreamland where everything is determined by destiny. EVERYTHING is connected, which is super unrealistic and kind of breaks the fourth wall, if you're a critical person like me.
but even its lazy script couldn't make me hate watching this, because the characters just make it worth it. they are three dimensional, well written and the actors just take the cake. the whole main cast is full of show stealers. they all nail subtle expressions, nuanced acting WITHOUT making it cringe, like I've seen in many other dramas. the actors embodied their characters very well(I'd say exceptionally ahn hyo seop because he ate yoo chan's character up, my favourite work of his, but tbh ALL of them are exceptionally good in this drama).
still 17 is a rom com but it is heavy on the comedy. and it's beautiful comedy, at least for me. my favourite conical scenes were from woojin's character. every episode is a healthy mix of realistic comedy, slight suspense(which is VERY frustrating throughout the show, but i advice just trying to pass it) and heartbreaking moments. the characters go through significant growth and we see them fighting their fears, falling and picking their broken pieces up regardless. i loved watching the mains be so passionate about their interests and their work, seeing them struggle and mske it through and just being in love with what they do. having things you love to do and doing them for a living, rivals making up and promising to work together. this is my happy pill.

The editing/visuals though... like those dvd movies i used to watch, with everything whitewashed, the lights on colour dodge layer s and a strange fps. Such a barrier.
While there are competitions in lower weight class, I am confused why they casted actress that is a twig with…
Women written by "males": she's thin like a tree's branches, eats like a pig but never gains any weight, she's petite, cute and has a flat stomach but also is a weightlifter.
hey can you please tell me in more details what they did ?
Nah girl, this is called "thinking that the whole world revolves around you and your beliefs and that everyone should align to them" syndrome. You don't do what you're prohibited from doing so in your religion(no matter how oppressive) but you can't shove them onto others bc you "don't like it." No one insulted your god, chill.

You are saying it's islamophobic, though, which doesn't seem to be true. Is no one outside of your religion ever even allowed to say "allah,"? With other names for God(Mr. sky daddy)??? And idk about the "Muslim means submission" because ALL religions mean submission and oppression. 🤷 Oof.
Was just thinking about how cool ruyi is but then she went on to undressing the ml to forcefully have a baby w him(even if she was just teasing) right after saying that she won't make him do anything he doesn't like.
I don't want to apply moral judgements to everything either but some things are just so icky, uncomfortable and wrong, especially if you reverse the genders.
Since Lee Sun-Kyun I hope and pray that media, ppl, police … Korean society itself try’s to be more careful…
It's just DRUGS(yes i know they're dangerous af), rapists and child molesters are let off and casted easily. They make it such a huge issue when it's more personal while they're so easy on literal rapists. Ew.
