I'm guessing it was a dream too. The waterfall is in the mom's head. When she was cooking food and saw the bubbling pot, she worried about her daughter getting into danger. But when she envisioned her being rescued, it represents her letting go of her worries and possibly getting a little better.
I am considering subbing it, but it might take me awhile. It's a pretty good show, even if it's just bromance. Hopefully it turns out to be BL, but I'm not getting my hopes up, since Taiwanese shows seem to be big on queerbaiting. I'll finish watching through episode 4 first and decide.

I'm glad you liked it! I usually prefer not to sub Chinese content, because the accent is a little harder for me to understand, and the BL content is censored. But I'll watch the series and consider it.
