This is simply a magnificent drama. It’s certainly at the pinnacle of all BL’s. If you have even a hint of…
Thank you for such a thoroughly insightful comment. I was a little bit doubtful about the second season because the first was so wonderful, but so far they didn't disappoint.
Taipei residents, please help! I love Taipei. Spent some time there in 2019 - when MODC was airing. Kept hoping…
I just know that the heart-shaped swing is in Bali (across the river from Tamsui). I'm not so sure about the other places, but I'll do some investigating. I'm guessing maybe in Linkou, since they filmed some other scenes there too? Or Taoyuan?
Which two? I'm curious. I know they discussed coming out, but what is the other one?
By Chinese BLs do you mean Taiwanese as well? I am so tired of the "I'm not gay, I just like you"... A certain Taiwanese show (which I won't mention here because it's the wrong comments section) employs both that trope and romanticizes assault... It's 2021, they need to move past this stuff.
I actually have a list of shows I would recommend to my LGBT friends
I am considering putting Lovely Writer on it, it is dealing with the 'coming out' storyline pretty well, and the whole show is kind of a satire on the BL industry. But at the same time it employs other tropes like the 'caretaker' trope... I'm sorry, I don't need to watch Nubsib massage Gene's hand for 3 hours, or watch him sleep. His behavior is often borderline creepy.
I have to disagree, the scene was heavily romanticized. BL series are romance dramas... this show will almost…
not all non-con scenes in media are problematic, and I agree with you that not everyone has to be feel traumatized from unwanted sexual encounters. But this scene is romanticized imo because 1) it's inside of a BL drama, which tend to be very romantic, and 2) the music.
I think it's okay for me to accept the couch scene and for the series to have a happy ending, only if this behavior is discussed later by the characters, and the inappropriate behavior is acknowledged (a good recent example was in Tonhon Chonlatee, when Chon kissed Ton suddenly, and then in the next episode, his mom told him that that was unacceptable). But I feel like the next episode is gonna start with the dad drama, and this will probably be forgotten.
Does someone know how to add an actor page here?
Found the park... It's in Taoyuan... called Hutoushan Environmental Park

I was so conflicted during that scene, I really want them together but I knew Nubsib not kissing him is the right choice. He's such a gentleman.
