Dear Producers, Directors, Screenwriters et al. at GMMTV,As one of your typical BL viewers I must say I feel a…
I was wondering if I should start watching when I saw your review, which is insightful and hilarious. Thank you for making me laugh and saving the time that I would have wasted watching this series.
As one of the people who is curious about their position, I am not questioning it because of Ayan’s height.…
It’s okay! Don’t worry about it, please. :)
To answer your question, though: yes, I would have still thought the same things even if Ayan was taller than Akk. My first impression when I started watching actually was that Ayan is a top, although I knew that Khao is taller than first. It is only later that I started to change my mind. But as you said, we have different opinions, which is lovely and what makes the discussions here on MDL interesting, so let’s just watch the show. Stay safe! :)

As you know, many film adaptations do not follow the original works to a T. This is why I am curious. Has the director of the series said anywhere that the script would follow the novel 100%? If yes, then I will readily accept that AyanAkk is clearly defined in the series. I will be happy regardless of whether it is AyanAkk or AkkAyan. You wrote in your original comment that Ayan and Akk’s positions are a big deal for other people, but your tone is so defensive that it seems to me that they are a big deal for you instead.
When it comes to the curse it might be more that its been forced into their head by repeated warnings for many…
You are absolutely right. That’s what we are wondering about. There is no substantial evidence that the curse exists, but the prefects are still scared of it. Why? Either theey are scared to accept that someone in the school is harming the protesters or they are simply superstitious. The latter does not make much sense.
Wow...I didn't know their position is such a huge deal for some. I hope it turns out to be AyanAkk just so I can…
As one of the people who is curious about their position, I am not questioning it because of Ayan’s height. Of course a top can be shorter than a bottom. It would be narrow-minded of me to think otherwise. :) It is just that Ayan does a lot of stereotypical things associated with a top: the seatbelt thing, the unabashed flirting, the stripping, the rule-breaker-lone-wolf vibe. However, this drama does not seem stereotypical to me, so I am wondering if the production team has not decided to spice things up by having a bottom with the stereotypical behavior of a top and a top, who while physically stronger and bigger than the bottom, is timid and panicked like a bottom. For now at least, I do not feel like their positions in the series are defined. I will accept both AyanAkk and AkkAyan. I am just wondering which one the production team is going for. :)
The falling-asleep-scene was indeed realistic. This happens. I have nothing to complain about the intereaction…
Hahahahahahahahahahahah This is so funny omg. What we do? I think that we should open a debate club. We’re apparently both really good at arguing convincingly 😆 How did I even manage to change your mind, though?
This actually happened to my boyfriend once, hahahah. We were in an empty classroom together with a friend. My…
True, but in Not Me, for instance, Yok was pursuing Dan and being more insistent overall, although he was considered the uke! It is indeed difficult to tell for sure who is the seme yet – Ayan or Akk – and I like this a lot because it makes the dynamic more realistic. In real-life relationships, the dominant and the submissive are usually not as clearly defined as in BL.
I was thinking about how Akk was kinda instantly attracted to Ayan and wondering what caused that attraction and…
Great observation, although instant attraction can happen without any significant reason too. Love at first sight might be an exaggeration, but instant attraction? Oh boy, this is a thing. :)

Okay, I surrender! You convinced me. I forgot to take Akk's personality into account. There are people like your roommate and my boyfriend, who also somehow managed to fall asleep at a Deep Purple concert, but Akk is indeed too tense around Ayan to relax that much. :)

I also think that Akk is the seme. He is jittery now, but I feel that this is so just because he is deeply in the closet. He panicks every time Ayan is around because he is afraid that he will reveal his attraction to Ayan, which he is in denial about. But yes, as you pointed out, he is way stronger physically, and I think that the training scenes, in which he always ends up on top of Ayan, are a hint.
I have not watched 21 Day Theory yet. Is it good?
If you consider Word of Honor a BL series, there too the uke was more emotionally stable and sometimes more capable and ruthless than the seme.

Good point. The prefects might indeed be in denial. Akk defends the school and its rules all the time. He believes in the school. He and the other prefects are dedicated to enforcing its rules. It must be difficult for them to accept that someone in their school, whether a teacher or a student, can have malicious intents.
I agree with you about the curse. I might be mistaken, but there seems to have been a sudden, unexplained change…
Thank you for giving me so many examples. I have not watched the series that you mentioned yet. When Love by Chance and Kiss Me Again were released, I did not have time to watch. Love in the Air is on my list. :)
Yeah. The curse reminds me of the supernatural element in Not Me. The twins were connected spiritually and what…
You are right! I forgot the part in which the curse unleashes its full power during the eclipse. This raises another question, though. There are two to five solar eclipse each year, and a total eclipse happens every eighteen months. Let's assume that something bad happens only during a total eclipse. Akk, Khan, and Wat are seniors. This means that they were in the school during the previous eclipse – and the one before it too. Why is no one talking about what happened then? If nothing happened, why are they so scared? These questions remain unanswered, at least for now, which makes the curse subplot confusing and unconvincing.

You might be onto something. There might indeed be no seems and no uke, which will also be awesome. :)
