Dropped after 2/100... Imagine, there was Shin Seung Ho! And then I found out he was a guest star for 1 episode only so the ONLY HOT guy left the drama at 1/100? DROPPED!:)
Cute, yet another 15-minute drama which does not hesitate to dedicate 1 whole scene to product placement. Another refreshingly blunt thing is: Most of the "group of besties" we can watch in dramas DO feel artificial and put together by force. Perhaps this drama, having COMPLETELY passive lead who gets her "friends" ASSIGNED to her, at least does not pretend anything, LOL. Epi1 Summary: Main girl, who is NOT ugly, is bashed for being ugly, pushed and pulled around by random weirdos and freaks and then introduced to a super-girly kdrama kind of male "idol" wearing girl's make-up, earrings and jewelry as her birthday present (among other things) while the only dateable boy in sight gets friend-zoned on a first day, or something. Hurray.
What, Kim Ji Suk got paired with the leading girl from 'Playful Kiss'? I know it's long since 2010, but somehow she STILL looks too immature for him lol
Uh... "Thanks" for the long review... which I would lie if I said I did understand, but never mind. A few points I especially didn't get: "More than a love story this whole tale is a commentary on Tokyo's state during different period of time" ?? "Rika is Tokyo itself" What does THAT mean for the drama? "Tokyo as a city has this scary and intimidating vibe" What do you mean by this? I've never been in Tokyo, so I am curious. "if you want the same cute romantic stories then just watch until episode 3 and make that airport scene as your ending. After that the story will go into the more realistic territory, misunderstandings will develop, triangles will form, they will also go back and forth as a couple" I might take you on this advice. Because I take cute romance any day, but MISUNDERSTANDINGS? TRIANGLES? That does not mean more "realistic" to me, that's exactly the same corny drama that I like to avoid by now. And "Going back and forth" is viewed as a weak script by me, morelike. And by the way, I don't think being "realistic" is a compliment for a drama. I watch drama for it being a drama, not a documentary! "It also seems they wanted to play parallels with the 1991 drama, they not only altered Rika, but most shots are also during the night" Okay there really exist a 1991 version of this drama. I looked it up. It's available with subs. Should I watch that first? I usually do wach in release order... Though, the way you describe it this honestly does not look very entertaining. Maybe the music is good. "Japan has this stupid policy when casting actors" WHAT policy? Can you be specific? Not everyone knows. By the way, I even watched the long 4-minute speech in subpar english on youtube which you posted. She did NOT answer the question "WHY 90% of relationships don't last" in her whole babble.
I'm at 1/2 of it and it' supposed to be good romance to watch, so it bothers me that the main guy is getting close to 2 girls at the same time. One of them, he publicly announces as his conquest, which happens at random shortly after he meets her, despite the girl in question being far from just a pretty face. PLUS she's got a child, who needs a father, which is serious because ML is getting close to the kid AND the other girl who is NOT his mother and who is someone from ML's childhood so clearly the writer intended HER for him. That screws the other girl AND THE KID over? There's just the 2ML to comfort them, but that one is also interested in the other, "lead" girl...
By the way, why does 2ML wear his hair combed that way? From the back to the forehead? Is he already balding? The obvious dyed shade is ridiculous, too. ML looks handsome at a first glance, but he's got a huge teeth. No guy is really hot in this drama.
And therefore, so far I'm enjoying the comedy way more than the proclaimed romance. Both FL & ML have funny best friend, and these two people practically save the whole show. ML has a funny male assistant/friend/servant, and FL has her super funny bestie who is a fat girl who by the way does NOT wish to lose weight, she believes she looks better chubby. She is hilarious. She really IS cuter than the FL, though...
FL wears glasses at first, but soon she wants to go on dates and look more attractive, so she does not wear them half the time. But she looks worse without the glasses, not better. She also keeps squinting her eyes like she cannot see properly. Also the 2FL is SO interesting and likeable a person. There really is serious second FEMALE lead syndrome here, LOL.
Either way I'm half through episode 11 and the drama already feels SUPER LONG I'm watching it for ages and still I'm only at the half of it, I'm afraid I won't finish it. It's not like I really care about who dates who. It's so prolonged and vague.
Okay, COMPLETED which felt more like a chore. I'm rating it the same as A-Teen SEASON TWO as that is the only 'Playlist Global' series I can compare this to. I WILL try and watch more of their shows, but the runtime boosted to 65 minutes instead of 15 is hopefully NEVER to be repeated.
Okay, I came for "a man who disregards the thoughts and opinions of everyone and lives life by his own set of rules", NOT for a tarot cards lady... After 1st episode, I'm leaving pretty quickly LOL
I don't know It's HILARIOUS Then it's ROMANTIC Then it's HILARIOUS again Does it sound like bad series to you? In the end, I rated it 8. Not perfect but deserved 8 out of 10 without a doubt
The FL despite getting up to various kinky things on a regular basis with five separate sex partners, is sad and…
It's kinda sad if it is so, because obviously she is looking for that in wrong place, it's ruining the otherwise hilarious series. Does she have a happy end, at least?
He's quite handsome. WHY does he have to do ALL THAT to his hair? First, dye it some obvious unnatural shade. Like he's a girl. NO NEED for that. Then, SHAVE AWAY the lower parts of his hair, while leave the upper parts overly long, so that they need to be complicately combed into some stupid quiff. Sadly that's a standard in Asia. NEVER I will understand why asians forsaken SIMPLE, SHORT, MANLY haircuts!! He is cute but his hairline ends too high on his forehead and that does not flatter him. Make him look less hot and more old and FOR NO REASON? WHY??
I'm not even commenting on her hair. The actress has a nice, long swan neck, therefore the short haircut was chosen but WHY does her bangs looks like it was monolitely cut after someone put a pot on her head? Then all her other hair strands stick out like it's needed for her haircut to be "merry" because she's a 7 year old girl or smth. If this was a parody on something, they should have let us know. But it's supposed to be just cute romantic comedy...
The main couple's hairstyles are UNFATHOMABLE on both counts.
Pitty such a banality as hair prevents so many viewers from enjoying the romantic drama.
Really? It still has zero found it helpful but never mind. Now I've read it 2 years later I hardly think it is…
Yeah now it has 1 helpful. Perhaps my computer is slow:)
I admit I write most of my reviews out of spite after having my time spent on watching something not really worth it so I hope at least someone might have fun reading it. I also enjoy reading other reviews of the bad shows I watched, at least I can laugh there if the actual drama bored me. I don't read reviews of something I did NOT watch, not much.
Wow, what a truly, truly AVERAGE series.
DESPITE all the appearances.
Girl, don't marry this one he's a PORNORGRAPHER!! lol

The runtime is huge so there should be enough reward
