Now, as for the leading couple, as one other fellow viewer described it, Even Koseki Yuta's side guy Shingo was "more handsome and pleasurable company than Ojima and Misa should choose that one" which I could fully agree on, among other things. She might just as well go for him episode 4. We could be spared things like ex coming back from the grave (seriously) to name the least.
While Fuchikami Yasushi deserves to be called 'Mr. Hotness' in this one, it's a waste of him for this silly henhouse. Those who appreciated the story of the 2nd couple exaggerated a bit in their reviews, it's not actually much better than the lead couple's, and the woman is doing all the work (blah). Just their "bridge proposal" scene, I wonder whether THIS was they did make a parody of in 'We Best Love: No. 1 For You'... Now I know why in taiwanese drama he had to say that also in japanese LOL
OVERALL If you're new to j-dramas then skip this one, else you'll get the impression that j-dramas can't do romance.
When you wish to fastforward during a 17-minute episode... Then that says a lot. Though nothing good. LOL
Ugh, I don't like the main boy. He looks feminine.
Either way, after the explosive 1st epi, this show managed to be quite boring and close to comatose, and I started to feel that I would prefer even if something violent happened LOL This drives the worst in me LOL
And who needs super-controlling mother in the age of social media where privacy is non existent anyways? The mother feels obsolete and like from another era now, when all the twenty year olds keep posting every insignificant details of their lives (which should be boring for THEM, let alone the audience) and the kids have no privacy to begin with.
Then, we don't really deal with this "drama" even, because we have like most of the episode dedicated to visiting one shop or other and buying an item which is then "subtly" advertised during the end credits lol
This show might be called TWENTY-TWENTY, nevertheless I did not manage to watch it TWENTY times. After 13 episodes, which were super long despite being short, I put it on ice.
EDiT: Dropped & rated even lower than 'A-Teen Season 2', which I would not believe possible.
Well... Was the main couple visually uneven in this one or what, LOL The short girl with round face looks literally like a kid. The guy who was way cuter than she was despite being a decade older male did an OUTSTANDING job to convince the viewers that she attracts him as a woman. We can applaud it. We can still SEE the reality, though.
Same goes for this drama as a whole. On one hand cringey, sappy, with a banal love "story" which is not worth all the runtime: even in the case of mere 10 episodes. (Any small & basic "medical story of the week" was more interesting than the main story, honestly... And it was ONLY thanks to the element of the profession, the calling, that this jdrama added a PINCH of something more than 'Itazura Na Kiss'.) On the other hand, at times REALLY funny and REALLY sweet. Up to you as a viewer, then!!
Okay... 1 Girl And 3 Sweethearts, She's got a reverse-harem there of 3 siblings (why do we always have to have brothers as rivals? that's kinda nasty by essence) and I don't like any of the 3 LOL the sea looks the most appealing to me in this romance Episode 7 there was satisfying enough family drama conclusion and I felt the show could wrap it up... I put it on ice.
Damn... Why doesn't he ride MY bus! LOL Okay this already have gone below average and Chap Suppacheep should start starring in better things. Even the usage of western songs, which do not fit the scene at all, got stale. No proper ending, too.
Another confirmation that short runtime does not flatter j-dramas. The typical manga-style behavior, that always almost looks like mental ilness when made into live action, and which would STILL be passable like in any other shoujo drama, gets REALLY ridiculous if it all happens during like 5 minutes.
Whoever was making a love confession to whomever, I did not believe any of them. And if one of the guys was not as hot and captivating as Shirasu Jin, I might have even dropped the show, as short as it is.
I'm afraid that in compare to this, watching porn will give you better plot & gratification
First, this is a comedy, a satire, more than a drama... The main protagonist often talks straight to the camera, winks at the viewers, and is not that bothered by most of the events. If you'd take everything that happens dead-seriously, then you'd end up writing something like most of the comments below...
First, the app is a sex app, not dating app (they say "matching app" in the drama, there is "dating app" in the subs, but neither is quite right). Take it or leave it. Even the main protagonist knows this deep down. She tries and tries to see something more in the men, but often she treats them just as sexual objects, too. And just because her friend happens to die at one point, and she obviously is sad about it, it does not make all this something deeper. If anything it only shows that people who really love you don't grow on trees. They always need to be valued. It's silly to apply principles for the loved ones on total strangers from a sex app, though. The results might be as sad and bizarre (you can cry or you can laugh, depending on what kind of viewer you are) as shown in this show. But that's hardly a surprise.
In short, the main heroine acts like she does not know life basics, despite being previously married 38 years old. Everything that we watch in the 6 episodes series is just a demonstration of that. It's like she meets a lot of weirdos, but looking straight at it, she's one of the weirdos. It definitely isn't valid "social commentary" or anything to get really flustered about. The woman has flawless looks, lives peacefully in her own house, and is totally free to do anything she wants. In the last episode, she hardly can be still clueless about what she invites into her bedroom... The writer of this uses one single-track, from the beginning to the end.
Someday maybe you'll get Thai media - obviously not yet 😉
On the contrary, after watching 400+ of them I am morelike dropping them entirely... Moving back to j-dramas and k-dramas I have neglected since 2019. Lots of catching up to do:)
Epi 1: A bit disappointed. She's got a hot guy at work, but then somebody with "korean haircut" hits on her in a park, and obviously the writers intended THIS ONE for her:-( I guessed he'll become her new boss by stealing this position from her and I was right... Is this predictable or what? And she did NOT resign (she should have done that immediatelly, maybe even leave a few "easter eggs" for him). Okay after disappointed I got irritated. Both the leading women here (the other one got cheated on by her fiancee, and also stayed) were scr**d over and said: "Yes. More, please."
Okay, it has 23 episodes of vague mixture of this and that, one is not quite sure what's supposed to be the story here, well what's new with c-drama. The main boy is very attractive, there's one plus boy who is also very attractive. ... They don't have censhorship on kiss scenes but the cast is so young that they barely have any... It does not have proper ending, more precisely it does not end, it ceases. We're supposed to watch another 23 episodes season 2... To be honest I am not particularly interested even despite the fact that season 1 last scene main heroine got abducted in a car. I'll set s02 on "Not Interested". I rate s01 five stars out of 10.
Problem is nothing beats episode 1's ending so maybe this would be better off as a mini movie... This way, by the time the final episode came, I didn't really care whether they end up together or not.
