You're so correct about all.Everyone can see what the toxic-est fans are doing everywhere but no one dares to…
I see a lot of these anti-Sunwook comments on Twitter. And when I check their profile, most of the time its a BL watcher/shipper, lol. These BLs have ruined some people's minds I swear.
I don't want to jump into conclusions with Taichi and will give him some benefit of the doubt. Maybe he's just not into any of the contestants at all. I just need to hear why Hangyeol was left to dust just like that.
Wow, this season has attracted the toxic-est of fans. Running a hate train against somebody just because he's getting in the way of their dream couple? Sunwook's only fault is not rejecting Sumin when he's clearly into someone else. He's not doing anything wrong in his pursuit of Hyunjun. Really though, stop projecting your BL fantasies on these men, they're real people and not some characters in a drama. I can't imagine the harassment Sunwook and Hyunjun are gonna get when they actually end up together.
Jaeha is my favorite. He's got attractive qualities but he's just down too bad on Hyeongjun no one dared to make a move on him. Maybe his elimination would actually do him some good because staying in that house is driving him crazy.
Taichi and Hangyeol falling out was disappointing; this "breakup" between couples who are both clearly into each other is nothing new in His Man but unlike the previous seasons, I don't see a clear reason why Taichi suddenly lost interest in him. I loved how Hangyeol took it though. In many ways he reminds me of Hwi from season 3.
Rumor has it Minsung is returning in S4? He already had his ending (even if it didn't last), they should've given that opportunity to other former contestants... Yunghee and Dabit (S2) and Hwi (S3) for instance!
Revisited this again after S4 came out and checked what the contestants are up to now basesd on their IG:
(1) None of the three matches lasted (well no surprises there) (2) God, Hwi had a MAJOR glow up after this show. He looks sooooo straight 😂 (3) Looks like Youngjoon and Meongkyun fell out again (4) These people have unfollowed at least 2-3 of their batchmates: almost everyone unfollowed Seongmin and Jaesung, Minseon and Meongkyun also unfollowed EO, etc. (5) Meongkyun is doing BL?
the house this season is amazing. It could accommodate up to 20 contestants if they're not very particular about personal space lol.
About the reshoot -- the production team behind this is the same one behind To Get Her, which attracted major scandal due to one contestant. As a result they heavily re-edited the footage WHILE THE SHOW WAS STILL ON AIR to make it appear that that particular contestant was never in the show at all. I guess that experience really burned them out so they just decided to reshoot His Man S4 instead of repeating the same cycle
Loved this one so much, why the hell did I just put it off last month when it was still on air? i wasn't even busy watching anything else back then!
This is superb storytelling with a mystifying aura all over it, I haven't seen anything else quite like it. Daisuke was the PERFECT tsundere as Ogami, and Daigo showed phenomenal acting chops as Kano! Speaking of, I kinda see a lot of myself in Kano LOL so I guess that explains why I loved the narrative here. I guess the main lesson is there really is no point in dreaming of a "world of if" -- even the minutest change in yourself can turn that world into reality. That's some real deep sh*t.
Idk, the whole drama feels isolating for someone who is unfamiliar with Korean folklore. Probably would have enjoyed it more otherwise, but most of the time i was like "what are they talking about?" lol. Nevertheless, production wise, we can easily see that this drama has the budget for such an ambitious story, unlike two other KBLs from the past that explored the same themes ("The Director Who Buys Me Dinner" and "First Love Again"). Also I'm not one of those people suffering from the "second couple syndrome" but I feel that Jigwi and Gildal were miles ahead of the main leads... have I mentioned that the guy playing Bihyeong reminds me so much of Phupha from Tale of Thousand Stars? 😂
Overall it was an OK effort, i'd probably forget about it quickly. 7/10
A very rare instance where a very overworked plot gets a renewed life, and the writer and cast need to be given their flowers for such achievement. Watari's eyes do much of the talking for him, while the actor playing Hioki did an AMAZING 360-degree turn from last year's Smells Like Green Spirit. The three other boys in their harem have so much charm and personality that it's hard to just lightly brush them off as those typical "supportive friends" you see in BLs. Can I single out the guy playing Hotta? He keeps catching my attention even if he's spending much of his time in the background. I also find it funny that he's the only non-idol-looking guy in the harem and that fact alone pushes him to the spotlight further 😂
This is an adaptation done just right. There are tons of BLs just like it, but sadly most of them did not hit the correct notes. School Trip largely benefitted from maintaining the right amount of balance among silliness, fantasy, fluff and charm.
I'll be honest, I really wanted to dislike this show. Jiwon in the lead is not doing it, he's a total drag. I hate it when a BL drama has a weak lead. But thank God for Jaehyeok/Jungwoo. He just reverses everything I dislike about Jiwon by being the complete opposite of him. Of course the two other men in their friendcircle are fun additions to the plot.
Yet still I wish things could have been done better. There are a lot of scenes that felt too quiet and nothing is happening.
I looked around and saw that this show was produced by the same guys behind Heart Stain. That explained a lot. lol.
This was such a fun watch! I held it off for months because of the things I have been hearing but this drama was a quite good offering in this year of dry KBLs! Park Jinwoo killed it in the lead, I'm starting to think the OMEGA X boys have a talent for BLs lol. Kangmin didn't really appeal to me in the beginning when he was acting real stiff but gotdamn! He was such a pretty crier near the end of the drama 😠The side couple was a nice addition though they never fully explained why Kyusung decided to leave Jooha in the first place (or probably it was explained but got lost in the subtitles).
Overall if you're looking for a fun KBL to watch, My Bias Is Showing is a solid choice! 8.5/10
This is so visually appeasing though I have to admit things happened quite fast, it would have been better if they spent more time showing how Xiaozhi and Chen Li's feelings for each other developed from being just "brothers" into something more than that (the time skips didn't help either).
I still loved it. That ending --- two men's pent up feelings for each other just exploded in that one critical minute, it was so beautifully directed.
hmmm i liked S1 better, it was funnier and more unhinged. when it ended, I am not sure how could Akafuji and Aoyanagi could last as a romantic couple, they more of 'worship' each other than genuinely being in love .. unfortunately their relationship remains as vague in S2, we're still not given clear answers...
Anyway, I really loved Robin Furuya's performance in this, Haibara was a fun addition to the cast, tho I feel he gave up on Aoyanagi easily. The returning cast are just as loveable, and I appreciate how the side couple was given more time to flesh out because their pairing in S1 looked so forced.
Loved Jyunhao/Guno, he was a delight to watch. But the rest of the drama is pretty much the same with the other Taiwanese BLs I've seen, it didn't really add anything new. 7/10
Wow, JBL cinematography is getting better (and this is a very weak spot for JBLs imo). The photography in this drama is absolutely INSANE. Same goes for the music. Since the two characters' main interests are photography and music, this series needs to deliver in those two aspects and it did not disappoint. Loved the actors playing Hayakawa and Konno. The bond between them was nowhere near sexual, but is very strongly felt. Usa Takuma delivered that teary eyed final confession scene really well, and Hirano Koshu was truly exceptional in those last two episodes. Never really gave this BL much thought when it came out, but I'm glad I gave it a chance, even if I'm already four months late.
Who are you to dictate a complete stranger's choice of who to pursue or love

I agree with the Cha Eun Woo comment. Something about his hair in Depth of Field made him look a lot like Eunwoo

Tho seriously this show was bad but I managed to power thru it all because of HIM 🤤
