Unfortunately, the bite-sized reels format is here to stay. it attracts thousands of views within a short timeframe. if they publish this work in a more popular platform like TikTok, there's an enormous potential for the views to reach millions...
to be honest I would've liked this one better if it ended in a tragedy. I liked it UNTIL they brought up that six years later title card. Everything after that looked so forced. They could have released a second season or a special ep to tell us what happened next.
had a very good start. however, I felt that the writing got lazy midway up to the end. for real though, that was one of the most anti-climactic endings I've seen... the 3rd man (Yoobin) also felt like an unnecessary addition to the plot.
Why doesn't he contact the police. He literally have a butt load of evidence. I know it's for plot but it's frustrates…
Minase dropped the call because if he did, he will no longer be a "bystander" and will become fully involved with Hirukawa' situation, and people around him -- including his mom and his friends -- kept telling him to stay away from people like Hirukawa. If Minase gets involved, he would just jeopardize his chances for a bright future and thus disappoint everyone around him. I think the first couple of episodes explained it pretty well.
No one else is reporting Haru's situation because only Minase knows about it. As for the mother plot, I can only assume that her new husband won't accept Hirukawa considering that he was born from another father. And she's probably too dense to realize that her son is being abused by her ex-husband.
i started following the two boys on Twitter/Instagram and watching their Instagram lives, and I just have this strong feeling that Junsei has a massive crush on Kenshin lol
Kenshin as Hirukawa is just something else. My god. Him in that popsicle scene did... unspeakable things to me. I've seen a lot of adult stuff in BLs but this is the first time where I actually felt something lol But why would someone do that to Minase and then later claim he's not in love with him?
I didn't feel Minase at all in the past 3 episodes but I'm starting to appreciate him now as he slowly breaks down his walls.
It definitely is. People just angry thinking it might be sad ending. Which is not logical at all. Regardless of…
I honestly don't get these people who refuse to watch a show or drop it after knowing that it has a sad ending. Maybe it's the changing demographic. When I was growing up, watching movies/TV shows with sad endings is definitely not a problem. It's a work of fiction, don't take it seriously, sheesh.
Can't help but notice the increasing number of negative comments just when this series is about to end. I still think this is one of the best BL dramas released this year, and thankfully they managed to get the rest of the episodes out.
I literally can't wait for Tuesday, I need to see that scene where Hirukawa taps Minase's foot under the table and does that seductive smile πππ
*edit: mistakenly typed Thursday instead of Tuesday lol
Finally finished it after putting the last two episodes off for whatever reason. I really wanted to like it, considering that it was filmed in Kaohsiung, this big city in Taiwan that, despite being so clean and so beautiful, just seemed to be devoid of people.
The main weakness is the screenplay. It lacks that "umph" factor that can reel in an audience and keep them hooked. I could even rank it among the worst I've seen from Taiwan. The most questionable element in the screenplay is the character of Orca himself, who seems to be just a pretty face squeezed into the story to make the Thai investors happy. If his character was eliminated from the script, it would literally not affect the flow of things in any way π
The production value was really good though, including the cinematography, production design, editing, makeup and hair (except those godAWFUL extensions!), and costumes. They were all topnotch. But these things were not tied well because of the godawful story. I wish they could have hired a better screenwriter. To be honest I felt like they composed that soundtrack first (which is a BANGER, by the way), and then just built a story around it.
Can we talk about the cinematography work here. It's breathtaking! Especially in these three scenes: 1) Qi Lu and Qin Xiao's trip to the zoo / 2) Qi Lu and Qin Xiao stuck in the supplies room / 3) Qi Lu and Qin Xiao's first kiss
is the story really that hard to follow or are the Gagaoolala subs just terrible? lol I watched the entire ep. 1 without understanding a thing, except for the fact that the two main leads are stepbrothers
Good effort overall. Definitely not the best out there, but it was charming nonetheless. Jaebin's screen presence is really good and magnetic, he should consider acting in more productions.
Hirukawa has such a gripping effect on me, he's just so good looking!!! π I cannot stop staring at him throughout each episode, I don't even notice Minase sometimes lol
with that being said, i think this is the first JBL where I can't bear waiting a WHOLE WEEK for an episode to drop!!
can't complain about the kiss because it was so beautifully filmed. and we have to take into consideration that this is a mainland China series, even the straight C-dramas (at least from what I've seen) don't do those wet sloppy kisses we've been accustomed to
