One of the most important people in her life, ZX, backstabbed her over and over again, she thinks the one she loves doesn't love her back and doesn't even trust her. My heart hurts for YD, however, I can't blame YY, he was raised to never fall in love, and he clearly knows the consequences of going against the heavens' law. He's just trying to protect the one he loves in what's in his mind the best way for her and the three realms. Just picture what would have happened if the ones getting the red thread test were YY and YD? it would even be a bigger mess. I'm somehow content with YY knowing it was her all along, as usual, but this is just the way xianxia works, I wish he would've told her "Actually, since the very beginning I knew it was you, and even when they tried to deceive me I never doubted even once that you were the one who saved me, and not her. Yan Dan, thank you for saving me" or that she would've told him. Also, I want to praise even more CY and YZ's performance in today's episodes, they were amazing. In the scene where YD and YY's eyes met again in the Jade Pool, they were full of love, longing, and pain, and the microexpressions on their faces, I can't... CY's ability to convey feeling through his eyes is exceptional, I could see his pain, disappointment, longing, and range. The next episodes are going to hurt a lot. It pains me to see YD with such a big disappointment in YY, and also to see YY realizing he let his love go just like that. Actually, I kind of feel that their relationship has more grounding when I compared it with other xianxia dramas I've watched where the number of episodes was longer. I usually find myself asking, well why these two would fall for each other? but I completely find reasons why someone like YY would fall for YD, and why YD loves him back too. I had shed small tears because it takes MAJOR events to make me cry, but their future relationship development, because as you said there's room for improvement, the heartbreak and heart fixed dynamic will make their relationship stronger and ofc pierce my heart at the same time lol.
