I`m sorry the last 5 mins of ep1 was literally so cute like it`s supposed to be a sex scene but GOSH, the way he was searching for her in the smoke (which is supposed to be her scent) put the stupidest smile on my face.
THIS was such a unique watch. i think i`ll always remember the characters & the beautifully put together story with elements like sorrow, happiness, social dilemmas & of course definitely the position of women during those times, especially in the gisaeng profession.
also, the cinematography in this movie was stunning! junho did a fantastic job, he was so beautiful, brave & funny. i`m glad his character went into old age staying true to his promises & doing what he loved i.e painting out all his memories.
just watched episode 2 & my GOD THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL,,,,i`m such a sucker for flawed characters getting their proper character development & this?! yes please more of this dear god. the cinematography is also so pretty, i`m loving the overall vibes & the interaction between hira & kiyoi too.
i should`ve started this series when it would`ve been completely aired now this is torture waiting for the next episodes :((
just finished watching the animation film,,, considering i can`t get enough of suzu & shusaku, i`ll go & watch the live-action version too. i mean it has matsuzaka tori, one of my favourite j-actors. now how can i resist?

even though i`m at ep 20, just gonna put this out there that the main highlight of the show for which i`ll keep on watching it is the dads,,,their bromance shines the brightest for me ><
I feel like in most of his roles there`s always this mysterious, alluring & intimidating feel. It`s always palpable. From his first main role in 'Hajimete Koi wo Shita Hi ni Yomu Hanashi' to his second last work 'Watashitachi wa Douka Shiteiru' (in dramas) I feel like that feeling is always there. (Maybe it because of his looks, his poker face suits him in those roles but when he smiles, god, I fail to recognize & BELIEVE that he is the same guy who plays those roles)
And, it keeps on intensifying. I really loved him in 'Shiro demo Kuro demonai Sekai de, Panda wa Warau' too! I sort of had a love-hate relationship with his character considering he was very manipulative in controlling our female lead & taking advantage of her feelings for his missions but of course things do get wrapped up in the end. I sort of sympathized with him, just slightly.
For me, it isn`t just his 'bad boy' role but in his overall filmography I feel like my favorite is 'Watashitachi wa Douka Shiteiru', that was a very complex character and I loved him in it. His character looked like someone I wouldn`t try to get close too. There was that scene idk maybe it counts as a spoiler but his ex-suitor tried to seduce him in a room by lying, she got undressed & all but Ryusei`s character remained poised & his expression was ngl, very scary, which is obviously kind of expected at that point of the series. That scene brought chills to me.
But of course, you won`t believe it, I was so overjoyed when I found this contrasting character of his in Kikazaru. I was like FINALLY! I`m gonna finally see his bubbly side, his softer & tender side of his & *coughs* very interesting cooking shot. Chef!Shun has me smiling from ear to ear every single episode.
I feel like I can always trust Ryusei with his choice of roles & I`ve my full faith that he`s gonna improve a lot too in the coming future with his acting. Every project he does, it always stays with me.
I agree, absolutely! I`ve watched all of his works & I just love how he grows on me like this every time. Although I won`t lie, I`ve a very weak spot for his smile, he`s just such a cute bean when he smiles but of course yeah, the intimidating roles of his aka 'bad boy' suits him the best.
Ryusei in a bad boy role after being the cutest bean chef in Kikazaru? This guy is throwing me left & right with the range of roles he takes, hello? yes God I`m here to report that I`m officially SOLD!

i stand & preach for everything that went down in ep22 at the wind city market in-between chenyue & xiao jin. two badass girl besties. we love it! we want more of it!
ryusei`s comical character...is really throwing me off in a good way. I HAVE NEVER SEEN HIM SO SMILEY ALL THE TIME IN ANY DRAMA OR MOVIE OF HIS.
oh and did i ever tell how MUCH i love his smile? okay now you know. god i know I love ryusei but this drama is making me fall for him harder than ever. he`s such a lil cutie (& flirty god what was that "DIGITAL DETOX" oof)
so i watched the 1st episode last night & i can`t BELIEVE i`m already in love with this dorama! ryusei`s character is very refreshing, i was kinda taken aback because in his last acting gigs his characters were serious & solemn type. there wasn`t much scene where he would speak so cheerfully, be carefree in a fun way but here he smiles a lot, he`s kinda like our silly but very handsome chef sunshine!
and, when he was chopping those onions that skillfully i got concerned because i don`t really like dealing with sharp objects but watching him cook and do things he`s good at was somewhat satisfying to me. as for the FL, i love LOVE her wardrobe, her high waisted pants and her coats and all the colours!!! the acting of both leads & other characters are also good. i didn`t have any hard time remembering all the characters. the pacing is good, loving the overall theme of the drama & of course the lil bickering of the leads hihi :) looking forward to the next episode!!
being a big fan of both ryusei & bts, i`ve been looking forward to this movie since last year! it`s finally released in dvd, i hope i get to see it soon :)

first of all, why is this lil series getting so much better with each passing episode!! i don`t know why but episode 3 hit somehow close to home although the main protagonist of ep 3`s story is nothing similar to mine (i think it was the emotions & how we should always cherish the moments we have with the people who`re around us & that let`s not wait for a day to come to do something together - life is unpredictable, why not do it together right now & someday we`ll laugh about it rather than regretting on why we didn`t do it that day?)
plus thank god, i thought my eyes were deciding me when i saw yuki kaji in the ep 4 preview.

i`m literally sitting at the edge of my seat at every scene when two main leads are there
longyan & qian xun at any point of the drama whenever they`re on screen: we fight, we put ointment on each other, we drink AND we take bath together
