Well, this was highly enjoyable in some respects (we all know which ones, let's be real) and laughable and annoying in others. If you can't handle any criticism of this series, don't read the spoilered comment below.
Zi Yu is fighting back against sasaengs, and I LOVE IT. GO ZIYU!https://www.koreaboo.com/news/pissed-off-idol-snatches-phone-away-sasaeng-fan-ziyu-revenged-love/
But some other sasaeng still filmed him do it and uploaded it to the Internet 😭
Gagaoolala, Viki, RevengedLove Youtube channel. All of them require subscription after the first four episodes,…
Viki has overall better subtitles, but the episodes come out a day later than Gaga, so it's a matter of what is most important to you—avoiding spoilers all over your Internet, or getting the best subtitles. Gaga has better video quality than Viki.
Gaga is a platform for LGBTQ media so if that is your thing, you can find a lot of BL/GL and queer films there. Viki also has quite a few BLs but mostly a lot of other east Asian (mainly Korean and Chinese but also some Japanese) films and dramas.
The Gaga subs vary in quality, some episodes have good subs but others seem like they are machine translated. The youtube channel is kind of the same, from what I hear (I subscribe to both Gaga and Viki so I haven't subscribed to the YT channel). The youtube subscription is the cheapest option, though.
I don't know if Gaga or Viki still does that one month free trial offer, but if they do you might want to check the dates and go for that when you can watch the whole thing before your month is up.
Please watch this from the official platforms in order to support the actors and the production. Views on pirate sites do not support the creators in any way. If you can't afford to subscribe to Gaga or Viki, the membership fee on the official youtube channel is not expensive.
Pls tell me this has a happy ending . I don't trust historical chinese dramas 🥲Someone who has read the novel…
Even if it has, that's still not a guarantee for the drama adaptation ;) That said, although I haven't read the novel and don't know how it ends, this seems like an uncensored adaptation, which does raise the likelihood of a HE.
OMG I can’t with China. Fellow Addicts, I just saw a trailer for another BL Kill to Love. Another series to…
Since it's a historical costume drama, it involves more post-production, so I'd be surprised if we see it in the immediate future (though I'll be delighted to be wrong)
I've tried to submit a request to remove the "thriller" tag because it's misleading, and to add the "comedy"…
I don't know what drama you watched that is "murky, pervasively disquieting, immersing a viewer in the characters' anxieties", but it's not Revenged Love (though I do grant you the "morally ambiguous" part)
I've tried to submit a request to remove the "thriller" tag because it's misleading, and to add the "comedy"…
Still not a thriller 😊 There's no unsettling exploration of the dark depths of the human mind here, no existential dread, no sense of uncanny bewilderment or thrilling suspense (beyond "when will WSW finally give up his cookie to CC", or "does CC in fact still care about his cheating ex"). There's just a bunch of very flawed and morally ambiguous people dealing with family trouble, bad experiences in the past, and falling in love, while being both hot and funny about it (and occasionally toxic). Now, if you were speaking of ABO Desire, I might understand what you are getting at, although I don't really think that series warrants the thriller tag either (although we're still in the beginning of that series so I reserve the right to change my mind later).

I still don't think there are strong enough such elements in RL to warrant a "thriller" tag. It's more drama than thriller. Sure, people scheme and manipulate each other, but it's no worse than in your average soap opera or telenovela.

Yes, I think you're right that there's a lot of internalised misogyny in BL/danmei. As for homophobia, I think it's at least in part wilful ignorance, although I have seen outright homophobic comments from BL fans too, so there's that. By wilful ignorance, I mean that the fans perpetuate tropes that may be enjoyable for them, but may be counterfactual or even harmful to real LGBTQ+ people and their struggle for social and legal rights. For some of those people, they simply don't know the difference, but some aren't interested in educating themselves, and some may know but actively don't care about any harm done. For them, BL is a "safe" way to explore and process their own sexuality. The fact that real gay/bi people exist and may not fit into these heteronormative patterns is irrelevant to them. (I also know of gay men who claim to be dedicated tops or bottoms, so it's not like everyone is 100% versatile, and I also know gay men who unashamedly enjoy BL, warts and all.) Still, am sometimes very conflicted about my enjoyment of BL (and to some extent GL) because of these things.
ARE WE GONNA GET A DEJA VU 😭 LIKE WITH ADDICTED IN 2016 ?!! WHAT DO YOU MEAN WETV TAKE IT DOWN ?!! 😭😭😭
It's still up on Youku, iQiyi, Viki and Gaga. So it's probably not due to censorship, or it would be gone on Youku and iQiyi as well, since they are also Chinese platforms.
Unsolicited LGBTQ+ awareness rant: people are here so fascinated about beautiful Enigma being a "different"…
Yes, it's an unfortunate trope in Asian BL. It's because the roots of the BL genre are not connected to the LGBTQ community at all, but is a romantic fantasy genre for and by straight women (and its original roots are in the aesthetic movement from the end of the 19th century/beginning of the 20th century). Theres some BL that doesn't adhere to this trope, but most of it does, and almost every omegaverse story I have ever read does too. Most of the time, an Alpha is a glorified top and an Omega a glorified bottom. I'm sure there are exceptions, as with BL in general. That said, I have seen several comments from Asian gay men who consume BL that this doesn't bother them the way it seems to bother western people. Maybe it's a cultural difference between the communities?
I am a staunch ally of the LGBTQ+ community and I find that I find it easier to enjoy BL if I don't expect it to be LGBTQ advocacy or realism. That's not the point of BL, just like it's not the point with any kind of romance of whatever flavour to be realistic or educational. It's fictional escapism and that means that some things will be quite different from real life. As long as we can separate fiction from reality, that's not necessarily a big problem.
If I want realistic depictions of queer people and relationships and their struggles in life, I will watch LGBTQ media, which is a different genre (though there can be some overlap).
Can someone explain to my dumb self why this has the thriller tag, but not comedy? Where's the thriller at? Or…
I've tried to submit a request to remove the "thriller" tag because it's misleading, and to add the "comedy" tag. It remains to be seen if the mdl admins will accept it. You can submit your own request by going to the Web version of mdl and click "Edit this Page" on the top right. If you have a screenshot of the Viki page that shows the tags, or a link to any official statement from the production, it will help getting the edit accepted.

I would assume that what you saw was paid for by fans of the show, not official promotions (just my speculation…
I don't think ads/billboards have to be reviewed by the censorship board before being put up. But I'm guessing they can order them to be taken down again? Still, if fans are doing this, I'm wondering what on earth they're thinking? TXN and ZY deserve recognition and success, but calling attention to the fact that they are acting in an uncensored BL might not be the best way to ensure that.
Fr i could never i hate slimy things BUT ZIYU HANDLED IT WITH A HAPPY FACE?!?
Snakes are ectotherms (they don't produce their own body heat like mammals and most birds) but they're not slimy, they are dry and smooth. They can look a bit glossy because the scales are very smooth, but that's it. I have petted several snakes :)
it's 3am here and I am very traumatised by the fact there are only 10 ep left (5 weeks) before Revenged Love ends…
It really shows how hard this series hit us when many other BL dramas are just 10 eps in total, and here we're all feeling like it's too short, too little 😅
