I believe this is the same as the short called "His Cat: Extra Chapter" on GagaOoLala (even though it is obviously not connected to His Cat at all, just the same actors)
Had to drop it bc the actors clearly didn't know how to handle cats and it was making me nervous :/
I get what you mean. It wasn't enough for me to drop it, but yeah. The way people handle cats in dramas tends to set my teeth on edge. Also, that was not a two-year old cat. More like a ten-week old kitten!
Taiwan's have slipped and are no longer good like We Best Love1 or HIStory, but dang, they still are not as bad…
Blueming and especially Semantic Error were absolute bangers, but South Korea have put out some subpar BLs too, sadly. Behind Cut and Oh Boarding House were so boring that I dropped them halfway, and let's not mention the train wreck that was season 2 of Color Rush (though season 2 of To My Star was, IMO, even better than season 1, which had been one of my favourite KBLs up until then). But I guess it's a result of greater volume--the more BLs that are made, the greater the chance that some of them are excellent but also that some of them are terrible. (YMMV, of course. )
Loved the first episode! Where can I find the manga?
It's online under various names, "Minato Shouji Coin Laundry", "Wash My Heart!", "Minato Shoji Koinrandori". Not sure if there is an official English translation in shops...
Apparently they just wrapped filming. According to AvenueX this drama will have pretty historically accurate costumes for the time period, which most historical C-dramas don't really bother with!
I don't have a patience for this.Kim was fine, albeit a little stuck up.The girls were funny and nice. Loved the…
I hope we can get more series like Triage, KinnPorsche, Not Me and Bad Buddy from Thailand. But a lot of production companies will go for old tired-but-popular tropes and a quick buck rather than taking the risk and investing money and skill into something new and more challenging.
The premise sounds similar to A Thousand Autumns, only rewritten to be straight romance... Also Qian Qiu Ling means "Thousand Autumns Token"... Does anyone know?
Damn, does this movie get a new wave of attention after KP. A short FAQ for those curious to check it out, pls…
This film definitely won't go on my "Non-Toxic BL Dramas For Beginners" list, haha, but I watched it fully prepared, and while I found the very explicit hardcore non-con stuff a bit hard to get through, I also found it a well-made film that was quite poignant and rather beautiful in the end. It was in fact a lot better than I thought it would be. I even tried to find out if it's available legally anywhere, but with no luck so far. [Edited to add: I did find it on GagaOoLala, for VIP members.]
I do understand what some people are saying about the very twisted messages this film is sending, but we also have to remember that this film is in no way pretending to be wholesome or "romantic"--it's about two very damaged people who struggle to find reasons to stay alive, and the things Yoden does are super messed up...and I'm still not convinced that whatever bond those two ended up with wasn't just Stockholm Syndrome. But I think you have to get in the right headspace for this movie. You can't go into it expecting or even thinking about romance or any kind of healthy relationship dynamics. It's heavy and desperate and more like a dark psychological drama, with some very intense sex scenes, tying together the themes of sex, pleasure, pain, death and the will to live (and, if you will, maybe even some kind of love in spite of everything).
I would just like to point out that the use of they/them in the singular is NOT a new thing. It has been used that way in English for centuries. Shakespeare used it that way, for example. It has maybe become a bit more widespread in recent years, but it's by no means something that the kids these days came up with.
Also there are already several proposed new nonbinary/gender neutral pronouns in English. The problem is rather that there are too many, which means none of them is likely to be adopted into the mainstream language.
Fun fact: Swedish didn't use to have a gender-neutral pronoun but decided to adopt one in the last decade, so now we have one, and because there was a general soc/media uproar about it, everybody was aware of its existence, which paradoxically facilitated its adoption, LOL.
(YMMV, of course. )

Also, do read the tags before watching... just saying.
