Does anyone else think the treats that were sent by 'GYX' were poisoned? I feel like it was sent by the emperor…
I answered to another post this: And seeing that his nephew was still angry, he decided to vent his nephew's anger and take revenge for him. At least that's what my delusional mind is telling for now. (Additional - the emperor says: My brother has to atone for his crime one way or another. Besides, Yanxi was raised by me. Now he has been wronged, so I shall seek justice for him.)
We'll see if the father survives eating the cake...
Somehow with the Emperor’s paranoid and suspicion, he manage to be a good parent to GYX, hence he turn out just…

So much happened today. Man, when grandma died, they had me crying. She was all that. But when the Dowager came…
I think there is more to this scene, because how would such a women be capable of hanging herself as well as to get the rope up there? And how did she get up there? She didn't had a chair or anything similar.... Can't wait for tomorrows episode.
I’m watching ep 20 right now and yanxi and his father are having a very serious talk but as the camera goes…
They actually have training in advance before filming how to walk, talk and ofc how to behave as well as posture training which includes standing, right way of bowing, greeting the emperor etc... That is pretty common for historical dramas...
But yes, he is tall as well as the posture - his dad seemed to be sooooo small... I thought it was perfect, since the character is on the decline (the fahter)...
Novel readers someone please make this clear for me. Literally begging. A video showed up on youtube that said…
Back then it were different times and cousins could get married.
Since I only checked the ending I can say, that it will be a HE. But since I only recently started to translate the book, I am not in the arc yet. So I can't answer this question for sure, in what kind of way they are related to each other ;-)
I think all make sense, the daughter is described as a spoiled brat, she married the man of her own choosing with…
I have started to translate it, since there isn't a translation of it yet. I haven't reached that part yet. But ofc if you are interested in the book, just check here from time to time, because when I have finished to translate round about 10 chapters, I will share it :)
I think all make sense, the daughter is described as a spoiled brat, she married the man of her own choosing with…
I actually think, that the answer to the question of why she wanted the maid to become the husband's concubine is very simple.
She has already told her mother in the scene that her husband is not treating her well and that she needs the maid to appease her husband. After all, he had made it clear that he only wants this one maid and if she can't manage that, then....
The reason, of course, is not that she actually wants to appease her husband, but rather that she wants to get out of the way so that she is not mistreated any further. In this situation, she is absolutely indifferent to the fact that the girl is a human being, because in her eyes a maid is like an animal that can be used and exploited. She describes it in Chinese with the sentence "她是一个丫头" (She is a maid). What she is actually saying is, "It's just a maid, give her to me, it's not that serious to lose a maid".
She doesn't let it go even when she is told that the servants have been given their freedom and that the contracts have long since ceased to exist.
The character is so driven by fear that she doesn't care what happens to the others around her and will insist until she gets what she wants.
The newest addition, oldest Hua daughter is just despicable. The way she looks down on maids and treats them as…
This question is very easy to answer.
The children were never required to work hard, as their grandfather already had enough money to provide for the family. Not for nothing were they a family portrayed in the book as a 'centuries-old noble family'.
If children are permanently looked after by maids and servants, they don't learn about real life.
Only Hua Zhi was able to get to know 'real life' at least a tiny bit, as her grandfather took her with him on his travels. She was able to see the world and therefore has a different awareness of people around her and is more determined to create a better future for everyone.
The beginning of the drama, in which it is shown that an unmarried woman is not allowed to show her face in public, describes this time very well. In those days, the daughters of noble families were not allowed to leave the house or show their faces in public until they were married. As a result, the daughters of the families had their own separate courtyard where they lived and were cared for.
If you take these points into consideration, then you can easily imagine how the ladies became so spoilt and arrogant in certain aspects.
The only thing that i dont like about this drama is the domestic violence being brushed under. Both grandma's…
You mean Kong Liu or the screenwriter?
Actually it reminds me of the concept of "karma" in Buddhism. Karma means action, whereby Buddhism distinguishes between three actions: that of the body, that of speech and that of the mind. All forms of human action create imprints, which in turn form the basis for future action and experience.
Mrs Song was not only an egoist, but also intentionally caused the death of a person and continued to claim herself as the innocent victim. Therefore, according to Buddhism, she did something very nasty. This is because she did not choose to behave as she was supposed to. She spoke badly about her own family/siblings/mother and her mind was full of resentment, which is why she took advantage of others to create a situation in her favour - what failed in the end. In the end it teaches us, that we are all fragile human beings and that we are driven by our emotions.
Buddhism teaches: Good deeds fill the mind with good impressions and therefore we should do as many good deeds as possible. However, as long as we see the world dualistically with our ego, the effect of every action remains limited.
Even though I pity the character, I understand why this particular person is needed. They obviously had to have a reason for grandma Hua to die. And anger can easily cause a stroke. During that time, there was no cure and the probability of death was very high. So the character of "Miss Qin" had to do just that and make Granny Hua angry. We don't need about her husband - I just wonder what will happen to her son. Because somehow I have the feeling, there will be more...
It's based on a book ;-) Not everything is the idea of the directors or the screen writer.
I am not that far in the book yet, but can answer when I reach it and will let you know, if the screen writers may be belittled this arc. I will let you know when I reach there 😊
the change in female lead was the death if the drama , the scar girl was good actress to drop to horrible actress…
He still does ;-) Btw the original actress of Yang Cai Wei went viral on Weibo and all were smitten by her. Therefore is fine, since they acknowledge her acting and hard work, even if she only had a very small part in it :)
Yes, it did. Because the red screen in the begininng of the drama is the one from the NRTA - you can see it written…
But there were so many law changes between 2020 and now that you could say it is old.
SPL only has the political issue. But HYX and SPL you could cut or refilm some scenes less provocative. Bnce from a certut we will see how it goes on, I am certain that from some point on, they will realise, that money makes the roll and since many adaptations will be filmed in Taiwan or Thailand - I guess, this will change sooner or later again :)
And there is still hope for this year, since LYX actually posted in his review for the past year and the outlook for this year HYX - so let's patiently wait :) I guess, he wouldn't have done it, if he wouldn't have known something...

The law is already old, as it was passed last year in either May or June.
This censorship requirement is for all types of drama, but it explicitly mentions certain tropes that may not or should not appear in series. Some straight dramas therefore also had to go through the procedure to reobtain the distribution licence. We will therefore be waiting for a few more dramas.
Therefore, Sha Po Lang and Hao Yi Xing are also subject to this challenge. What's more, Sha Po Lang is highly political and we don't know what was actually adapted from the book.

Not necessarily , because we are not in the picture!
Everyone also thought a year ago, after "Justice in the Dark" was taken down, that it was, because they had revoked the distribution licsense. Reality is, that they had and still have a copyright dispute. You needed to dig in order to find this out, since Youku never made an official statement. But others did and if you didn't knew their accounts, it was very difficult to find out.
Since in this case we are neither in the light, we should wait and then check Weibo. May be it was taken down due to other reasons. We only know the story from the director - but since iQIYI was the distrubtor, we do not know, what happened on their side.

However, I have to say that this approach was absolutely right, as it reflects the character, who always remains calm even in difficult situations.
