it really is a hard watch, i am now at ep 16 and i am barely watching anything becuase of how much im skipping. Just like you said the lead characters are very flat and inconsistent, even other characters are not interesting.
usually i can ignore the bad aspects of the drama if the story or the acting is good enough, but not even the story is intriguing, it is written terribly, add to that the bad directing, and it has become a disaster (like some actions that the leads do make no sense and are so out of place).
in conclusion, everything about this drama is bad or meh (story 2, acting 2, lightning 1, costumes 1, directing 1, overall 2.5 and that is me being generous)
this started so well, but the last few eps disappointed me, some scenes were cringe and other did not make sense
like how did qimin survive that fall while he was shot by an arrow three times????? and his death scene was a bit old fashioned but I kinda felt sorry for him

exactly, and one thing that i remembered was that she wasn't as fussy when she first met him, yes she helped him a lot and she didn't want him to die, but that was because he was badly injured. Now she is willing to even go to war to eliminate the what ifs.
damn changyu really needs to understand that yanzhang is not a kid, but its somewhat understandable when think about it, this girl has lost way to many people and many of them are close to her, and i think her case with yanzheng is that she loves him so much that she is starting to become overly protictive, cuase the thought of her losing someone that brought her comfort is not in her dictionary, so she is desperately trying to control the outcome so that even the thought of death will disappear.
its kinda sad, and i hope her friends, family, and yanzheng will help her overcome it.

lets just say that cdrama land has been dry for a long time, and this one is like the sudden rain, we didn't have a good historical drama since forever, and this one is just good enough to bring the passion for us fans. the actors are handsom and pretty, story is nice and easy to follow, very funny, and every character is loveable. its the perfect watch

just like you said he is not the story in the last few eps, whats happening now is all military related, so the showed more of the sui brothers plans, and what is FCY is going through to find her sister and husband, and this is why people are complaining (because ZLH is given less screen time than the rest) but in todays ep (24) they are focusing on the military camp, so he is shown quite often.

Exactly, many dramas don’t do justice for the support characters and i just skip through them because the have zero contribution to the story and they are either boring or dont have any chemistry, but here i am enjoying every single character and i feel somewhat connected

in short the story is reaching it boiling point, the support actors are shown now so that they build the stage for the leads and their epic story, this drama is 40 eps be patient and enjoy the story!
