Why Yuechu and HongHong were alive at the end? What happend?
Oh, I thought alternate dimension was where you had copies of the characters but with totally different lives. But I think I'm using Marvel's definitions now :D
I liked the evil THH as she actually had a personality and Yang Mi played the role well. Instead of the useless…
If they had ended it quickly, I wouldn't have minded as much. Two episodes of her forgetting, several of her either slowly remembering (which was the route I thought they were going to take when they showed her at the market) or slowly falling in love again.. that could have worked. The antagonism from her and keeping him in the dark were the worst bits.
Unfortunately, everyone's scratching their heads about this. It looks like the Tear of the Void (whcih can manipulate time and space) was used to create an alternate dimension in which the same characters get happy endings.

I liked evil THH as well. I also liked the brief THH vs Shi Ji face-off (Ep34 maybe?)
I think that amnesia plot was the worst choice they ever could have made. I actually liked how THH was acted. I could see micro-expressions that indicated her feelings for DFYC and that her feelings were growing. But to reset back to square one for almost 10 full episodes and then restart again was just so pointless.
honghong as a character, being the chief and all, not only lacks communication skills, but they are completely…
But even Yuechu made decisions without discussing with her. From that wedding with Bu Tai, to suffering soul backlash... They both did everything for each other
In the original manhua, we start from modern times. Each couple is a human-spirit who were in love centuries ago.…
Oh, isn't there a censorship issue with reincarnation?
Because someone showed BTS of YM and GJ filming in modern clothes as well. I guess they cut that either because they're not allowed to have reincarnation storylines or because they thought viewers wouldn't like it
I'm assuming the final part was possible because of the Tear of the Void, which allows manipulation of space and time. Maybe the creators thought that ending the storylines in the modern world (as it is in the manhua) would have been too difficult for viewers to process.
I agree that scriptwise the FL is suppose to be older though I don't think it is necessary for her to also look…
I don't think a younger actress could have pulled off the character. Even though in the manhua she's shown to look like a teenager, a younger person most likely won't be able to convey not just the responsbility that comes from being a powerful leader, but also guilt and grief carried over 1000 years.
But I've finished watching now, so I'm ok with things (despite all the shortcomings) :)
And it definitely was just carrying on their usual tradition of doing well-meaning things for the other
The ending had to be this way because going the way the manhua did (with reincarnations) wouldn't be allowed due to censorship.
I'd expected a sad ending, so I was happy with this :D
But I still enjoyed the drama :D
