I also found the storyline messed up. I'm guessing that the old man was hired by Yoshimi (model) to kill the FL…
This is plausible, but the old man was seen in a previous scene somewhere while the FL was walking on a street with a dead woman (?) lying on the ground and she just walks pass by him. He is possibly a hitman (or a serial killer on the loose) and the actress may have hired him to kill the FL, but instead he killed her mother. The episode straddles the line between confusion and the surreal. The ending gives this goosebumps, eerie kind of feeling that you can't shake off.

Chiba Yudai's performance here could be his best out of the dramas I have seen from him. His expressive eyes really draws in the drama and tension of the story to the surface.

Episode 2... one of the most strangest episode I have seen so far, with a very obtuse ending. Who was the old man, and why the FL and her mother laughs uncontrollably by the end? In all honesty, I was caught off guard by how that ended. This one was a lot of unpack.
