Title Run On
I give this drama a 9.9/10. That remaining .1 is for not showing us who Ryan is, lol.
Kim Seon Ho should've been Ryan! His character's cameo felt a bit lackluster and unnecessary to me, they should've just used it to give us Ryan instead lmao

What an incredible character Dan Ah is. It's easy to simply do a gender reversal of the bossy CEO guy and make him a woman and call it empowerment, but Dan Ah is an amazingly complex, layered character who has specific issues that arise from being a daughter born into a rich family that still believes everything should go to the first born son. Absolutely amazing and definitely the character with the biggest growth of the show. I love her. I love everyone! Incredible show that's criminally underrated for how great it is.

Don't forget to rate it if you enjoyed it! I for one believe that this deserves a 9.0 rating at the very least. What an amazing show and what an amazing ending. I have no words.

i don't completely agree, even if he grew up like that in the end he caved in and did evil things. Those things…
Like I said in another comment: the problem with accountability in these type of supernatural shows is that if you have the concept of demon/evil spirit possessing someone, you need to be ready to accept that there might be things the host might not be fully guilty of.

And I do agree that Shin needed some form of punishment, what left me feeling uneasy was the idea that it was a black and white, good/evil situation when at the beginning of the show we saw that Shin was more than capable of being soft and innocent. He wasn't an all-evil entity with just a desire to kill and hurt, far from it. But in the finale, what we get is a punishment fit for an all evil being, you know what I mean? I think his ending is not what the original writer had planned, but I guess we'll never know!

I really hoped that Shin (the evil spirit) wouldn't have a form of Ji Chungshin.I kinda thought that the evil…
I really like the drama overall as well, but the change from a compelling, layered, complex and well developed villain with multiple grey areas to a guy who was already evil and only got more evil was certainly a downgrade lmao

I agree! I didn't want him to have that form either. And I think the problem with accountability in these type of supernatural shows is that if you have the concept of demon/evil spirit possessing someone, you need to be ready to accept that there might be things the host might not be fully guilty of. You can't only apply normal, real world rules to a world that has supernatural elements like these.

The mayor was worse without a doubt, he was evil without the aid of any evil spirit already. I think the change of writer can really be felt when it comes to Ji Chung Shin, because before the writer change we had many moments that showed he was just someone who was desperately asking to be loved, and after the change they killed him and made the evil spirit go to the Mayor. I don't know, I think it's not a good message to show that if you've been abused you'll go to hell forever

Title The Uncanny Counter Spoiler
I can't be sure if this problem comes from the writer change (I really feel it does) but I think they really dropped the ball with Ji Chung Shin. The idea of someone who has been abused since he was a little child (which is what caused him to be vulnerable enough for an evil spirit to overtake him) ending up in the show's version of hell doesn't sit right with me. In the show we seem to have 2 types of people who have evil spirits in them: abusers on one side, and victims who were vulnerable on the other side. Ji Chung Shin is the latter. Within the rules of the universe we see that the evil spirits have a strong influence on the bad deeds of the host, so the question comes in the form of how much of his evil deeds can he be held accountable for? And I don't mean in the real world, where he should pay for his crimes like everyone else. I mean in the After Life. No form of redemption, purgatory, anyting. Just eternal punishment.

It just doesn't sit right with me, and I think the original writer was doing a good job of showing the greys of the villains, but after the change it turned into a total black and white situation.

Disappointing.

LOL, what?.
I agree with everything you've said! And even after him and the spirit merged into one, he still fought the spirit to make sure it wouldn't hurt the little kid. I felt like there were several moments within the timeline of the show where we saw that if he had received the love he was desperately asking for at that moment, he would've been able to be redeemed. But I think his dad trying to kill him really broke him. That scene was so difficult to watch, especially when he pulled out his wallet. It broke my heart :(

LOL, what?.
I know he's evil, but they did a good job at showing the reasons why he became evil and I couldn't help but feel that if he had been raised with love and care he wouldn't have turned out like this. Also whenever he was around his dad he was very innocent and vulnerable and that broke my heart

So, feelings! lmao

The ppl saying so are KSH's Start Up character bias. Ppl got a bit too aggressive with that ship that now KSH…
It reminds me of his start up character too! Well actually his start up character reminded me of this one, lol. There are differences for sure but he sure is a rich troubled man in both haha. I don't really loved him as those characters especially cause the first work of his I saw was You Drive me Crazy and it definitely set up the bar quite high for how nice and sweet I want his characters to be lmao

People were so passionate about his start up character because they loved him already, so it makes sense lol

Anyone else invested in Lim Joo Gyungs sister and teachers relationship ? ???
OH MY GOD, ME.

I am obsessed with their relationship, it's so precious! I absolutely LOVE how assertive she is and her dominant personality, and I am obsessed with the fact that she's simoultaneously super assertive and a sweetheart to him!! She's been super nice and kind to him from the get go, making sure that he knows he can reject her if he's truly not interested.

Also they have some hilarious scenes (running towards each others arms, oh my god). I am seriously rooting for them and I hope there's not much drama in the relationship since it's not like they are the main couple and need a lot of screen time to cover their story :)

I am seriously rooting for her older sister and her teacher, I love how direct she is and how flustered he gets! They're adorable and seem like they are a relationship dynamic I LOVE, which is to say it only makes sense that they're a secondary couple because when there's no misunderstandings and people are honest there's no need for 16 episodes about it lmao

(also rooting for the younger siblings, i can't help myself)

You know that spongebob meme where he has a book and the eyes are looking at opposite directions? That's me right now with Su Ho and Seo Jun

I did not anticipate it would be literally impossible for me to choose between the male leads, I love them both so much
