Don't get me wrong, I deeply dislike Ho Beom-- but I am so glad the preview was misleading and what happened was actually an accident. I love a complex, human antagonist instead of a cartoon villain-- so I am absolutely loving his development. He still sucks, of course, but I am glad we got to see him offering his hand to Chae Rok, and looking very guilty about what happened, even if he still will not admit it or apologize.
as i remember his ex wife is not original character in webtoon. their relationship is a newly add story in drama.
Really?! Wow, so no one knows how it's gonna end! I think Chae Rok has really made him grow as a person so hopefully we'll see a happy ending for them :)
Very happy the stalker fan thing didn't drag out for longer. I mean, It's likely she'll be back but I'm just glad she didn't stay as her assistant for longer than ep 4 and her true identity and intentions were revealed already.
One thing I love about this drama is that even though the negative reactions from the family are infuriating cause we're all rooting for Deok Chul, they feel very realistic and in character for each person. Even their arguments and their reasons to be mad just feel REAL, even if they make me sad and angry and like they're unreasonable at times. Being able to see where a character is coming from even when you don't agree with them is very good writing. Well done!
The only romance arc I want explored in this drama is the teacher and his ex wife hahaha
They have such an amazing banter and I really think the reason why they divorced is because they just weren't ready to be there for each other at the time! I am rooting for them cause they seem to have very strong feelings still. And the way they're constantly around each other (him especially seeking her out) is just so interesting
I haven't read the original story so if anyone wants to spoil me their story you are more than welcome lol
I want one (1) drama where Song Kang is not constantly suffering for the love of GOD. Can't someone just write him getting to be happy??????????
That being said, the first episode alone was incredibly sweet, and Deok Chul is just so adorable. He seems such a sweet and caring dad/grandpa! I love him and I want to see him fulfill his dream. Also the cinematography was beautiful.
A very interesting article which makes me think whether the COVID-19 pandemic the world is facing influences the…
Pandemic has definitely affected my viewing habits, not only for kdramas but also for western shows. I used to watch a lot of horror but I find myself avoiding it for the most part nowadays, and I avoid thrillers and dramas as well. I didn't mind at all pre-Covid, but now I can only deal with lighthearted things
The real world is miserable enough (especially nowadays) for me to watch things without happy endings hahaha. Before I tried to avoid spoilers but nowadays I definitely check if the drama has a happy ending before watching because I can't get emotionally invested only to be sad at the end! Like I said, I already have enough of that in the real world.
What I can handle and more often than not really enjoy is a bittersweet ending though. What that means for me is that usually the leads get a happy ending with the people they love but they lose someone we as viewers came to really love, and you can't be fully happy about it.
However, I will admit that there is definitely a grey area in "happy endings" that goes with what you talked about-- the realistic ending. If the ending feels out of place I will probably not like it even if it's "happy" and an example of this is when I feel like one of the people in a relationship does not deserve the other because of the way they acted towards them. But I also tend to drop those dramas a few episodes in, so I don't really see the endings haha
Ngl but for Start Up I think HJP and In Jae would have also looked better but the writer decided to waste everyone's…
I actually thought they were going to go that way at one point! I think it happened towards the end when there was a scene they shared alone together and my brain immediately went "YES". I actually really liked Start Up and loved the ending, but my main complaint is that they dragged the triangle for way, way, WAAAAY too long (to be fair, that can be said for 99% of love triangles in kdramas). Now I'm thinking they could've just done a couple of stares shared betwen Han Ji Pyung and In Jae and maybe one or two conversations before the time skip and by the time Do San is back they could be dating already, maybe even secretly cause they only started dating a couple months earlier.
Why did i do this to myself lmao now i'm bitter and it's my own damn fault
I think in both Start Up and True Beauty, the second male leads deserved another character who appreciated them from the start and liked them for who they were! Neither Dal Mi nor Lim Joo Gyung were ever *really* romantically interested in either of their respective second leads, and I really wish there would've been someone for them who loved them like they deserved! I think both of them focused so much on women who were not going to reciprocate their feelings that they wasted so much time they could've used for actually meeting someone that was right for them both.
Also, when it comes to Sweet Home, I wonder if our survival insticts would kick in if we were in a situation like that. I joke a lot about how I'd just die if there was a zombie apocalypse but who knows, maybe I wouldn't! It would be interesting if we could know how we'd actually react to that and how much we'd try to just stay alive because we refuse to give up.
I haven't watched Love Alarm, but Song Kang has my heart so I would've chosen him as well hahaha
After reading what other people have said I see that I should just move this drama from being on hold to dropped. I am sad because up until today I had some hope that we might get a happy ending, even though a bigger part of me knew that's not where it was going to go. I watched up until before the final scenes of episode 8, and as far as I'm concerned that's where it ends. They lived happily ever after with their baby.
I hate when a writer puts a character through absolute hell and torture, gives them the smallest scrap of happiness and then takes it away in the most horrible way possible. That's not good writing to me.
It's a shame, really. I had hopes for this drama when I started it, especially because I love Lee Da Hee so much and this character is so different from what I've seen her in the past. So disappointing.
