Thanks for the heads up! Do you know if Viki is showing it somewhere in their homepage/recommending it to people? I checked but I haven't seen it anywhere like that. It's a pity because it's a criminally underrated drama that flew under most people's radar last year :(
Seo In Guk has got no business looking that damn good in this drama. He's fucking magnetic, you truly can't take your eyes off of him. What a perfect casting choice.
That mole below his eye will be the death of me. Mark my words
But thankfully they didn't. No need to force romance (or focus on it) in every single tv series. There are so…
Thankfully indeed! I don't see any way it would've been better if they had invested more time in the romance. Chae Rok was leaving anyway, so it made no sense for them to delve deeper into it and I am SO glad they didn't. (Teacher and his ex wife getting married again made me so happy though! hahaha)
There are two things. The first is that the dad used tough discipline, i.e. he beat his players, for better results.…
My takeaway was definitely that his friend got him the job on the down low-- I assumed it was basically an agreement of the friend being like "i will get you this job but you cannot under any circumstances do things like you used to" because he was a good coach all in all apparently? and it looks like it's implied that Chae Rok's dad changed his way of thinking/being during his time in prison, but I 100% agree with you. I don't think it's okay. To be honest before we got more info about the whole past situation I had assumed that Ho Beom used to beat up Chae Rok (he mentioned he used to get beat up after games) because Chae Rok's dad beat HIM up and that was his revenge, but it seems like that's not the case? I don't know, that's why I was so confused lmao

Ohhh that does clear things up for me a bit, thank you! I was just confused because I thought Ho Beom might've been injured because of Chae Rok's dad beating them up, cause honestly it did not look like a "light" beating from what we saw in those scenes-- that looked like it would injure anyone. But then I was also confused at the fact that he seemed to "worry" about Ho Beom considering he beat him up regularly!
The second couple are so frustrating? Like she's got a crush but refuses to tell him about it and then is angry…
I agree completely! This was one of my (very) few complaints about this drama. That storyline drags on for way too long, especially because our leads have a lovely relationship built on good communication and trust. I think the most frustrating point is that Cheng Er Luo seems to be legitimately clueless-- it's not like he's playing dumb or anything like that.
I feel like this is probably what happened with L.U.C.A: The Beginning. I sincerely doubt Lee Da Hee knew how…
She's supposed to be this super badass cop but from one point onwards she just starts making the dumbest most rookie mistakes, like trusting people that have already shown her can't be trusted and doing things that someone in her position simply wouldn't do. They turned her into a fool basically, but the other characters weren't any better either to tell the truth
When the actors sign their contract how much of the script have they gotten? Like in the drama Bi Soo gives Joo…
I feel like this is probably what happened with L.U.C.A: The Beginning. I sincerely doubt Lee Da Hee knew how her character was gonna end up based on what the character was on the first episodes. I felt really bad for her, honestly. That character was quite different from what she usually plays and she was doing a great job at it, too bad they fucking destroyed the story at the end
This was... cute? I suppose? It's not a waste of time because the episodes are super short and it's only 4 of them anyway, and it has a happy ending. I watched cause I found Choi Jae Hyun adorable in Run On and he was very cute here as well. I hope he gets more roles soon, hopefully on a longer drama!
IDK but even before the drama was released I knew just by the plot that it's something sad... Now after reading…
I've been avoiding sad things cause I can't handle them because of the pandemic affecting my mental health, and I am IN LOVE with this drama. It's sad, but done in a beautiful organic way and it has happy, endearing moments as well :)
This show is so moving to me. My granddad on my dad's side died when I was young and even though we were close I don't remember him much anymore-- and I never met my granddad on my mom's side because he passed away before I was born. My mom tells me a lot I remind her of him in certain things I do, and I really wish I could've met him.
I don't know if this happens to people who have their granddads alive and have good relationships with them, but for me all my life when I see or meet sweet grandpas I can't help but wish they were my own. When I see grandsons and granddaughters having close relationships with their grandpa's it makes me wish that was me as well-- and that's exactly what has been happening to me with Deok Chul. He is such a sweet and hardworking person and from what we've seen he's always been one, and it seems to be a privilege to be the grandkid of someone like him.
After this drama is done I'll remember it for a long time.
This was much better than I expected. I started watching because 2008 was actually the year I started High School, and I don't think I've seen a recent show that was about nostalgia from that year hahaha. I am glad I watched it! It's very good for what it is, and the acting is pretty solid as well.
