very excited for the rest of the show based on the first episode - I can feel tumultuous waves of conflict mounting already! My one tiny gripe is that I feel like they overused the "hopeful orchestral music" just a bit, and because it sounds kinda like stock music, it ends up reducing the depth of the scenes it's in. but, it's just my preliminary opinion. and I'm sure the rest of the series will be more gritty.
ah so now it was announced a GL for sunny and namnung, this couldnt be more staged at this point-
yeah, it feels weird that the two same sex pairings that didn't end up official are instead...now acting in shows as a couple, as if to milk people's support without actually being together? i have never seen this happen before.
I'm at ep 10 and really pissed at Sun not cool gurl! I would be so mad at her for doing that to Ongsa 🥺 and…
was waiting for someone to say this!! like sun literally not only outed luna and aylin's relationship to their parents but also her and ongsa's relationship 😠and then she got mad and said over and over again "you don't understand me at all, you never ask for my input." like girl did you understand ongsa and how crippling her internalized homophobia was? did you ask for ongsa's input when you revealed the relationship?? no. a relationship goes 2 ways, sun!
Random question but who's the top and who's bottom in the novel???
i promise you that is not at all important to the story. i think we as a society gotta stop asking these kinds of questions as soon as we see a gay couple!
let me guess this low rated because it doesn't have romance right? I don't understand people at all
probably, or because they're too lazy to understand the plot. but i'm loving the drama so far!
i would encourage the unsatisfied viewers to search up the legal/business terms they don't understand so they can enjoy the small details and gain insight into law/politics/finance. for example, they might see the phrase "shorting stocks" and think 'whatever,' but it's actually something that was a big part of the 2008 financial crisis and is crucial to understand!
ForceBook are amazing together! They’ve literally been friends since Kindergarten! What’s happened so far is…
completely agree; their acting may have seemed questionable in enchante, but i know that if they were given a better script it would've been astounding. one example is how much better the pilot trailer was than the actual trailer (it was funnier and ForceBook shined), and that's because the script was edited for the final version. another example is how good their acting is in the Only Friends pilot trailer, and that's because the better script quality allowed them to portray their characters better.
Heard that it hasn't even started filming.... then how come they released the trailer. Aren't trailers released…
Yeah, you're technically right! However, the first one is filmed before the drama and is a "pilot trailer," so the actors basically only shoot the specific scenes needed for it. It's there to gauge public reaction, as well as garner sponsors/investment needed for the final product. Because of this, when the pilot trailer has been released, you can assume it'll be a long while until the show airs. After filming, we'll see the official teaser, which is essentially the actual trailer with the final scenes we'll see in the show.
none of them, most likely, since they made it clear those other two guys are straight. i think he'll either get his own love interest or stay single. either way it's def worth the watch since mun taeyong (the gay guy lol) is a great character
Love the LGBT rep! It was treated very respectfully, and I especially appreciated how they didn't shy away from discussing homophobia, as well as how difficult it can be for LGBT people to date in a conservative society. Glad we're seeing positive representation like this in more dramas :)
Jung Hyun is giving copious amounts of egotistical control freak vibe. There's no way he's coming out of this…
this is a great analysis, i completely agree. JH has an obsessive love for JW but still puts himself first, resulting in him both hindering JW but also comforting him and keeping him close. He has JW tied down from being the writer JW wants to be, finding opportunities for him but still patronizing him. He's so manipulative that it's intriguing. Regarding your last sentence, i think they might be in a relationship based off the teaser for the next episode; JH said "let's just end this and break up" or something along those lines, based off both the dialogue and the english translation...i'm hoping this was taken out of context, because otherwise they have an incredibly toxic relationship.
I just read a comment where they said BL‘s are going towards a female audience not a gay male audience. That…
i get what you mean, and maybe you’re right, that this is why the drama was created. here’s my take though: gay men/MLM should not be raped in shows for the sake of women relating to it. it’s terrible the amount of abuse women go through, but we are not going to also subject LGBT people to the same abuse on screen just for straight women to connect to it. LGBT characters are there to provide representation and deserve to be full, fleshed out characters, not used as objects for therapy. this is why i’m hoping this is not the actual reason for the drama.
Episodes 5+6 were refreshingly beautiful. In particular, the relationship between Ray and Ah Jian was portrayed…
one thing: he didn't hand-craft the pendant, he was just fixing ray's necklace as he promised; it broke while they were play-scuffling after the photobooth scene
