If you want longer episodes the series itself is going to be lower quality. Not all K-BLs are produced by the…
i agree. since this is still a budding industry in south korea, we have to be prepared for the inevitable influx of so-so dramas as production teams do trial and error. yes, we got gems like "to my star" and "where your eyes linger" with relatively low budgets, as well as all the amazing strongberry films, but we can't expect all korean BLs to be like that. it sounds dumb, but we NEED these messy attempts/experimentations like this drama right here (no hate, im sure they worked hard) in order for the k-BL industry to progress as a whole, if that makes sense? it's actually good that we have a large quantity because that means more and more people are being open to acting/producing a BL. in the future, the average k-BL is going to be better in quality because people are going to know what works and what doesn't since they'll have so many BLs to look back on and learn from. i mean, we remember that most thai bls weren't exactly the greatest just five years ago, but look how much they've progressed! obviously i can't cleanly compare 2 separate countries, but the fact that south korea is known for their dramas makes me all the more excited because that means their BLs will naturally reach that level with time.
lmao i agree they're my favorites!! porsche is an exceptional actor despite being on the younger end. and also…
yeah, he's exceptional despite his age and lack of experience, but ofc compared with other actors he isn't that much of a standout. he portrays vee's playful and distressed sides really well though, i can't stop watching him
i'd actually say it's quite a lot to ask since they don't have enough funds for that lmaooo, they started out w/ just 8 10 min eps, so there's no way they could get to 15 45 min eps unless they have some sugar daddy investor behind the scenes. but *sigh* i wish that would happen...
Oh no, people how come you are so disappointed? It is a sweet drama, good acting, cute actors, nice dialogs, the…
this show is not a fantasy, it is based on a true story. so the forced scene/rape is not okay both in the real world or this drama. there are many people that have been sexually assaulted by people they love, but that never makes it okay—love is never an excuse. in fact, many women who get r*ped and try to take it to court are often told, "it's ok because your spouse/partner loved you, so you should bear with it." even if the two leads seemed ok after the act, it should have only started with both of their verbal consent. but that didn't happen. one of them assaulted the other. it was really sad to watch how the drama makes it seem okay, with the soft piano music in the background. imagine if the music changed to something more somber; the aggressiveness of the situation would be more apparent. there is no such thing as forced sex or nonconsensual sex. it's just r*pe. yaoi manga is a terrible example of MLM sex because most of it is just marketable SA catered towards the straight female audience. sex is something initiated by both parties and is never ever forced. zi ming was clearly struggling against cheng yi and the whole thing was hard to watch. cheng yi could have showed his feelings in a different way. never force yourself on someone; it's not romantic, it's romanticized.
i see some people in the comments excusing the aggressive scene at the end, saying it's fine since they love each other? sorry, i don't care if it's a tv show or not, but consent is consent. to make things worse, this show is based on a true story (so it's not a fantasy, like some are saying), so i wonder if the SA was an add-on or not. but anyway, there's no such thing as non-consensual sex. it's just r*pe. that scene was honestly disturbing to watch. if you think it's excusable, then you better think about all the other SA victims who were also assaulted by loved ones. even if they seemed okay after the act, it should have only started with both parties' consent. period!
I rewatched the trailer and they have so many different actors than the one airing now.just like what happen to…
since the drama and filming kept getting delayed, some of the actors most likely left to find other shows to act in. acting is their job and source of income, so it's hard for them to wait on one show to make money. this has happened to a lot of shows affected by covid; the actors end up moving on from the production if it's not going anywhere. hope this makes sense!
The book is toxic??Just how toxic are we talking about!???
i don't mean to make things serious, but rape should absolutely never be romanticized. it's a serious issue that ruins and claims thousands of lives a year. many men and women who get raped never get the justice they deserve in court because no one takes them seriously. it's because of the romanticization of rape that people tell the victims, "oh, but he was just excited," or "oh, you shouldn't have said no, you're being a prude and you should've just enjoyed it." especially in countries like india, 20+ grown men will rape and kill one little girl and people just let it go. as you can see, it's really sad and infuriating that it's seen as ok to completely violate someone's body and free will. so many BLs perpetuate a rape culture and normalize it as something romantic. so that's why you definitely should not like romanticizing it. hope u can understand.
