movie is gorgeous but plot is its Achilles' heel. It's the worst part of the entire movie... I mean so many plot holes. the more I watch it the more questions I have. Guo should have given it to someone to review because honestly... some things just don't make sense. Unless perhaps Netflix mistranslated many things.

i get it that the princess wanted to save he shou ye but wouldnt releasing the snake make her die and then he shou ye would be alone? or was she immortal without the snake anyway? or did they just want to be together for some time and then they would all kill themselves. or did she just want to die since the master was dead?

do we know if the second movie is going to be released or is it pulled as well? I know they said they filmed both at the same time. also gotta say as much as I wanna see another movie I'm not at all interested in the character of Long Ye. she didn't get enough screen time or story to stir my interest. unless she's the new snake reincarnation in the sequel i see no role and point for her character. just bring more wang duo!!

OMG!!! The movie is beautiful, so well made technically! Awesome effects, beautiful camera work, acting is awesome, beautiful scenery! Mark Chao is very average but bravoes to Deng Lun, Wang Duo and Olivia Wang!! Star of the move? Definitely Wang Duo! He was amazing!! How does he do it? He almost always has the same facial expression yet its soo full of emotions! Story wise... its a bid mediocre a few plot holes here and there and I gotta say I didn't buy the whole bromance. It felt like a good start but this ain't no epic bromance just yet. AWAITING THE SEQUEL!

this shows really drags, the nonexisting romance *not even a kiss) between derang and yanyan was such a stretch only so that they would be separated so she would marry the emperor. derang also seems to be a bit naive thinking the emperor who finally got the power wouldn't go after the girl from a good family to marry him. I guess hos before bros. we are halfway through the show and i do hope the pace picks up.
