Tbh I dont really watch period dramas or wuxia so take my comments light heartedly. the main reason that I started this show was Bai lu and well Ao Rui peng was as add on. (I have only completed upto ep 27 )
I think the plot of the show was or is at least till what I've seen amazing, Bai shou experiences stories/actions or different clans through which shes able to experience the 5 diff emotions to activate the stone, Fan Yue one of the strongest but the burning stars is what is limiting him hence not making him invincible from the beginning adding more depth to the character. However, if they didnt mention the burning starts he looked pretty invincible to me
I enjoy Morden Chinese dramas for the simplicity, making it easier to binge watch shows(maybe one of the reasons I dont watch much other than Morden romance). However, I always wish that there would be more established relationships, for eg: I think Bai shou and cang Shang could have had a cute brother, elder sisterly vibe.
I thought it was kind of sad to see fu ling to turn soft from the very beginning, just accepted then seeing Chen Ye have a 180 flip was:/ but then instead of planning directly went knowing he couldn't defeat when you but still fine I guess, Since 40 ep is long enough I think they could have made Chen ye live longer and show him and fu ling bond a little and they can relate to each other.

Overall I enjoyed it, started for Bai lu but was a good watch and if youre into wuxia/fantasy you will def enjoy it
