I usually dont watch Historical-period dramas , while I cant deny their plots are usually better written , they're just too long for me:( and my contraption span is low so take my review with a grain of salt. This drama is very much enjoyable and if this is the genre youre into I def recommend. Just a few thoughts

Pros: Gu Lian Cheng
fairly fresh characters
some scenes I thought were new for me and pretty good

Cons: They repeated how the FL&ML are one step ahead too many times
3/4 the show was about wanting to get revenge but it was anticlimactic as all the focus was on the Japanese
I dont know if I felt chemistry between the leads


I'm finding it hard to remember the good because I losing interest very fast towards the end. If you have 5-6hours to spare you can try watching,

I dont usually rate short dramas but this was very well written for a short drama without a basic cliche plot, It's got some good scenes, some good characters, but I think loses the essence in the last quarter.

Tbh when I fist saw teaser clips before the trailer came out though this was going to be something like forbidden flower(by that I mean thought it would be more inclined to flirtatious) Even though it was a simple romance drama Its really good , very refreshing to see such a mature ML well written supporting story, a healthy relationship and a good mix of TCM and morden.

I really liked how the best friends' characters, and how they made them a trio rather than 2 girl best friends and their bfs. Lin yi Shen's character I thought was very refreshing, they made sure to show the friendly bond between him and the fl and made sure to include some slight comedy. The grandfathers was also very cute, and the convo when the family drink together felt very raw which I liked. and of course an Honourable mention the kid who gets treated by he se yu, I'm not a fan of kids but this kids acting really soooo goood.

While at first I did think FL mom getting cancer was not required, it wasn't so bad at the same time. Overall a really good drama especially for someone who usually only hates romcom then just romance. Beautiful cinematography Def a much watch:)

(I did think in the starting eps they did make Zhang linghe too glowy, I get that their trying to dramatise his looks/charm but was a little over the top lol, and they seem to make the background 🌀 in a bunch of clips where unnecessary but im pretty sure no one cares hahah dont listen to me )

its a good idea/storyline but wasn't executed in the best way, acting was good especially war I was so happy to see him play a diff character as the only other drama that have watched is love mechanics. The drama was shot pretty well if I compare to the other Thai bls I have watched. I think the drama would have been much better if they had focused on a little more better action and character development that way the plot holes can overlooked (maybe) Joker could have really been this baddie that everyone loves, the tattoos fit the character and everything but 98% of the show you only see Joke rather than Joker. I get that as the ML he cant be pure evil but a more Robbin hood approach could help show him as both Joker and Joke. None the less I did enjoy it and would love some reccs id you guys had any

I went in not expecting well... anything but this show is actually good. The first half of the kind of focuses on the first couple and second half on the second couple. However, it didnt bother me as when the switch happened I was losing interest in the 1st one anyways but I can see how some ppl might not like it.

For a pretty short drama the side plot was good. Underdeveloped in some parts like Fan Family and the Zhang teng but 🤷🏻‍♀️

Personally I think only is Ze Rui's character was a bit diff would make the the whole show a lot better(and age gap -_- ) Like he's kind of supposed to be tough - I just think his character was rather incomplete or not a complete match. But I love AiDi and Zong yi friendship it was too cute. but def a must watch!

can someone help me find the name of this Chinese short drama, Basically its a republican drama, the FL is a tutor and no shes not come for revenge, shes tutoring nephew of the ML

From the trailer I was so sure that huan'er, Jing xi will end up together and qiqi, song cong would end up but while watching the show I cant help but not like qiqi's character. Getting jealous that Huan'er is making new friends was understandable however, it def felt like that main reason she was angry was because she thought class monitor liked song Cong + She ignored the FL but still tried to get cozy to SC. I'm so glad that qiqi and SC didnt end up together, however, I really wish that the FL confronted her and realised that she prioritised her love interest than her friendship

I think Li Tian was such a good character, his later bong with the group esp SC was so cute, for me he was the best in the show maybe because I didnt exit his character to be wholesome

I think it's my first time seeing an ML be so playful but have such high EQ, it was refreshing. I feel like usually the studios SML is slightly better, but not in thisss

Good youth drama, but will have to say I found it kinda boring after they go to uni. The before though was really great, the friendships , problems , the bond between the diff families always looking out and treating all the kinds like their own.
