* I think Pei Yi was overly sympathetic to some of the criminals and I happen to notice the trend that they're all females. for eg: Pei Yu, yes its unfair that females faced inequality, yes bullying is wrong but so is murder, esp her master: doesn't he deserve justice? I understand that the guy murdered all these ppl and it wasn't pei yu but she was an accomplice, even if she was excused because she saved many ppl why did they allow to take the guys ashes back for proper burial.
* I wasn't expecting Pei Yi and HuiJin to leave, through the show I dont think they showed that Pei Yi wanted to the leave the palace so I thought it was quite unexpected but after reading some of the comments, I realized that there's post credit scene while I dont believe that there'll be season 2 it explains or suggests that the leads might go back to the palace to investigate
* not a con but I thought the mini snow fight scene at the end was cringey and didn't really fit the character

I quite enjoyed watching it! Kinda sad to see many ppl not liking the show, I guess it depends on what type of shows you like? two of my fav actorssss, and while the romance was subtle the chemistry was def thereee, I loved seeing Huai Jin's reactions/expressions towards Pei Yi. I will say this is not the best suspense/revenge drama but I wasn't expecting it to be given that the plot is about several different cases and then talking about Pei Yi's. Only a few things I didn't like

the plot is ALL OVER THE PlACE.i know dramas like these tend to have more plot hole which I always overlook, but this show has a diff story every 4 ep. Just as I start to get used tot he plot it changes.

guys help! I want to watch purely for the romance, does it get sad from a certain episode or does the timeline go back and forth so there's sad and cute romance scenes throughout?

Pros:
* Loved how Lu Ke was the one taking revenge for GuYu I think in most dramas if it were to happen they'd only focus on the ML
*Feng xi yang: such an interesting character. I absolutely hated the character the first half, hurting everyone who loved her for an unrequited love but I did find it interesting how her character changed do drastically over time
* Xiao weiran's death was so crazy, heartbreaking but valid, this scene was perfecttt

Con:
* more like a loophole but how could have Xia Jingshi have founded the death camp because he also would have been a kid at the time if the FL, Ning fei were kinds when they joined. I dont know maybe they meant that he later took over it?
* also not really a con but kinda shocked that they showed Xia Jingshi hesitating to kill Feng xi yang but I guess it does make sense so scratch that out
* Feng suite should have stabbed xia jingshi another time for yixiao ORRR Yixiao's bow should have carved through his chest, taking her own revenge rather than just his hand

I agreeee, I hate when youth dramas end up with marriage, because we see a little one uni and then ends with marriage so feels forced. For me while I didn’t enjoy the uni and work life plot as much I do think the drama did a good job with individual character development esp with song cong, and MAYBE Du man was someone he needed to see life differently

Yes i agree, I think they were both on diff wave lengths hence could give each other what the other wanted

So far im really liking the show, but I feel like I know soooo much of the plot and im not even half way through the show, Hope the remaining half is just as good and not draggy

I liked how the ending had two versions, FL staying in the script world and having their happily ever after, and the in the real world as well! No matter in which universe they will have their happily ever after. and I liked how they came to the name a dream within a dream

I started this a whileeeeee ago but midway I got bored so took a long gap and finally finished today. I dont think this is dramas fault, I personally am not a fan of long dramas so anything longer than 24ep is considered long for me. The plot did not bore me, I guess I was just having commitment issues. Casting wise, a lot of great actors, I love LiYitong though I haven't watched many of her dramas, I was excited to see her do a dream with Liu Yu Ning, my new fav actor for period dramas. Absolutely great characters, and the supporting characters were all developed quite well which I feel like we dont get to see often

Personally I'd say the plot might be a little dragged, and transmigration genres also tend to be a little messy if we want a happy ending. I was quite surprised and happy with the ending,

I know many wanted them to end up together, i personally was happy they didn’t. The love story with Du Man being unnecessary is arguable I can see why ppl might have thought that. Curious to hear ppls thoughts

Rewatching this show and realising how gooooood the show is I was shocked to see I had rated it only 8/10 but then kinda realised that after they go to uni the plot isn’t as good in comparison. BUT DEFINITELY A MUST WATCHHHHH
