Why did it go back down to 8.2....this drama deserves better. I ain't going to call it a masterpiece, but I can see that everyone who was involved in this has a good conscience and tried their best to make it a good drama, which they succeeded.
At first, I thought Chief Ke's character motivation was basic because imagine betraying/harming your country and people for...love?? But now, it's pretty interesting to me and adds to the character. You know, I thought Chief Ke was totally just a scheming manipulator, but he has a human side for his real family too. He keeps on talking about being rational and not having those pesky emotions, but the reason he lost was that he didn't fully discard them. I wonder how he felt when he looked at Milan, a Japanese person who fell in love with a Chinese person and wanted to switch sides. I suppose it is people who make your home, not the place. If you think about it, that actually adds a layer to his character. I don't like what he did as a despicable traitor who killed many and betrayed his country, but I do like how his character was written. As for Wen Yeming, I think she was just a substitute for his real daughter, maybe he never ever cared for her and maybe he grew a shred of affection for her. Well, I feel bad for her.
Good job Mr. Liu Huan! This actor was really good, and he held the character up well. Despite knowing he's a terrible villain, I was a little reluctant when he died.
I love episode 38!! Totally my favourite episode despite the small issues I noticed. It was so thrilling, and I loved the way it was shot too. I will miss this drama, it has been a really fun journey trying to guess and rack my brain haha.
I don't think I'll be able to watch Brother Liu in Love and Redemption the same after seeing Ling Han, goodness, I really wish Ling Han was slapped a few more times or was sent to jail.
Kunwu is not a person. But 3 people, dad, yang and now secretary wu 🤣🤣🤣Why? Because they are the ones…
I think kunwu definitely did exist because they were able to alert the Japanese that Muzhi may be still alive, and the Japanese people were saying "kunwu is so meticulous" or whatever
I sincerely wish, with all my heart, that Yun Hongshen and Wen Yeming end up together. At first, I didn't get the romance here, but they are such a mature, devoted, supportive, and trusting couple (I love to see it). I also had some opinions on Ying'er's acting before, but her acting in episode 28 was pretty good. Now, I like Wen Yeming quite a lot, she's probably my favourite female lead out of all Cheng Yi dramas if nothing goes wrong in the last 10 episodes.
Yun Hongshen, why are you so cool? Wen Yeming, why are you so clear-headed? Deep Lurk, why do you do a romance better than actual romance dramas? Also, I am STRESSED these episodes omg.
Another thing I like about this drama is how it portrays women. Wen Yeming: You can say she is a little slow and emotional compared to the rest, but she's strong in her ideals and her mind. Moreover, she still has a good brain and a cultivated intuition, which isn't something you don't usually expect from idealistic and emotional characters. Milan: Competent. Logical. Realistic. Ruthless. Loyal. She's a spy with her priorities, and romance ain't on the list despite how human she feels with Yun Hongqi. Once she steadies herself, she's more decisive than before. Despiting hating her for what she did, I think she's the most well-written and complex character here. Jin Gui: Calculating. Shameless. Selfish. But you know, she truly cared for Mr. Bai and Mrs. Tang. She didn't dare to make the vicious oath that would make Mr. Bai reincarnate as an animal even if it would benefit her, and she genuinely cried for Mrs. Tang's death. Mrs. Tang: I thought she was a little simple and greedy country lady since she wanted to cheat the store yet she got cheated instead; however, she also is incredibly determined, responsible, and brave. She takes responsibility for her mistakes, and to stab yourself to death in case your family gets implicated is worthy of admiration. One thing I didn't like is how she left her children behind as a mother, but if she didn't do what she did, who knows what would happen? Grandma Yun: People may not have expected much of her, but she caught on to Milan and managed to leave a clue. She is the old lady of the Yun family, of course, she has experience and her wits.
