Not sure if anyone understands but ep13 kind of feels like it could be an ending of a season with a huge cliffhanger, then ep14 is the starting episode of another season. If it was a Western drama it probably would be like that.
I'm convinced the drama is conducting an experiment to see if they can drive the audience insane through the fourth wall. They ain't just killing off characters in extremely dark methods, I'm dying over here too... If XHA completely goes crazy, I can't blame him. If you don't lose your humanity after that loss, you're no longer human. Sometimes the only way to hold on to a "normal" life is through insanity.
The villains here are awfully intelligent and the protagonist will retaliate, I look forward to future episodes.
Is it weird that I'm bracing myself for xha to die but I want all his allies safe?
Nah, don't worry about it, XHA's allies pretty much have actual lives but XHA's everything is his revenge, and he'd give up everything to get it, including his life. If the allies die, they die with an incomplete life. If XHA dies, it'll most likely be to complete his life.

This show makes my heart hurt, I'm so head over heels in love with it (um not a masochist I promise). No but, seriously. I don't think I can be normal about this drama if this amazing quality continues because every episode is getting better and better.
Exactly. There is no "right" or "wrong" side. What matters is what the characters stand for and…
Yes!! Every character doesn't do things for no reason, they have their own justifications and their own lives. We just happened to view this world through the eyes of Xie Huai'an.
On a more serious note, I think the greatest thing about this drama is how it's using a story to dissect the complexity of human nature, including their morals. There's virtually no character who has a complete lack of morals or is in perfect possession of them, everybody is either already mentally unstable in some way or on their way to going insane.
Xie Huai'an's mental state is very impressive, his visuals even more so haha. He should be locked up, maybe in a jail or psychiatric hospital...or maybe my house? heh
Haha I don't think I took a breather in either episodes lol. Ep7 was less intense but it was so melancholic and…
Indeed, but I found the new character Wang Pu to be creepy, then we had the intense convo between multiple characters so I was like !!! the entire time
The last 2 episodes were quite slow. I guess everyone needed a breather to chill out.
